Report: First I have heard of Stripers in Berryessa. They have not been planted and I don't see how they could make it in on their own. My suggestion would be not to release them if you manage to catch one. If the striper population grows then bass fishing will suffer. Just look at New Hogan.

      Water Temp: 62-64

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: I hate to back up a guy with the username Myboatsfaster, but I have caught a striper in Berryessa also. They must be sneaking in from somewhere. If someone knows how I'd like to know.

Report: My friend Dan Gee and I caught our limits of largemouths in waters off the Mokelumne River.

biggest went 9 lbs 11oz. All fish were caught on 912 Senkos.

Tips: Fish slow near deep water.

      Water Temp: 61 - 64 degrees

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Ran up to the upper end of 14 Mile Sluogh today near the Paradise Point Bridge in my custom Valco "BASSBUSTER1". First started out with my usual checking to see if there was a reaction bite first. It ended up being a finesse bite for me Mojo Shotting a 7" Berkley hand poured worm straight tail Oxblood/Blu/red flake. Biggest bass today went 5 pounds. She felt real good on my medium action spinning rod with 8 lb. flouracarbon line.
      City: Stockton

Tips: Keep looking for the clearer water. With the higher than normal high tides the shallow weedy sides of banks were holding fish from 5 to 10 feet, just work your presentations slow.

      Water Temp: 58-60

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Fished Potato, Little Potato, White and Honker Cut, 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. Used Shad Speed Trap, Bl/B jig, Green Weenies and white Spinnerbait. No bites on anything but the green weenies (with red and green fleck). Caught 20 fish total for the day, all in shallow water near deeper water. All males up to 3#. Bite was soft and slow. Overcast all day with wind to 8 8MPH. Most fish were bloody. Caught a 1# with a fresh crawdad in it's mouth.

Tips: DON'T bother launching out of Terminous. Use BW or Ladds.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished for about 4 hours on Good Friday. Had the most luck on green and brown soft plastics, fished slow. Caught 5 total, all in the 2-3 lb range.
      City: Lakehead, CA

Tips: Fish slow! Most of the fish hit on the drop, and it was a very soft bite. The females we caught were getting pretty fat in the belly and looked like they were close to spawning. Should be a good fishing this summer.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: On vacation in Windsor and haven't fished here in 20 years. I didn't get there till 12:30 and to my suprise, I caught 4 fish in an hour off the bank near the boat launch. 2 smallies were 3 lbs. and two smaller ones. I splitshot night crawlers and tried plastic worms. This is a great smallmouth lake and I cant wait to fish here in a boat.

Tips: Walking the bank was very dangerous. I would fish this lake by boat. $3.00 to launch a boat here(that's great).

Report: Wow, what a great day at the lake! Got the day off so decided to head out to Berryessa. The custom Ranger is still in the shop, so I still had to fish from the sidelines. I didn't have as much luck as I have the last few times; probably only pulled in 10-12 all day. They really seemed to be chasing crankbaits today. I don't mean to sound crazy, but I am catching striper in Berryessa. Don't ask me how they got there, but they are there. Maybe birds transplanted them. Anyway the lake was beautiful today. Spawn is around the corner.

      Tips: crankin', rattlin', clackin'

      Report: Delta/Stockton

      Bass**** Stripers** Sturgeon***

Sturgeon action remains hot in the deep water in the Carquinez Straits near the Green Buoy, Eckley Pier and Dillon Point. The high winds have limited boating activity in the main Sacramento River in the Pittsburg area with gusts to 30 mph over the weekend. James Nguyen of Dockside Bait in Pittsburg said the striper bite was on its way up before the winds started to howl. The waters of the San Joaquin River are still high but clearing rapidly. Scattered schools of stripers are moving quickly through the system. The best striper fishing is found either in the Pittsburg area or in the north Delta above Rio Vista. Alan Fong of the Fisherman's Warehouse in Sacramento reported outstanding largemouth bass fishing in the Delta with "perfect water conditions." Randy Pringle, the Fishing Instructor, has been using reaction baits such as the Pure Poison or Timber Tiger DC8 in black/orange, as the fish have moved off the banks with the cool morning temperatures. He expected the large females to move up on the coming full moon. The 10-inch Berkley Power Worm is effective on the outside edges with a slow presentation, and there is a top water bite starting in the back coves with the IMA Big Stik in the flats for the occasional largemouth in the 4- to 7-pound range. Fresh shad is still very limited for bait soakers.

      Water Temp: 57-58

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Launched out of Brannan Island SP and worked all the areas between that and Mokulemne by B&W; real spotty and hardly any action. Lipless and speed traps produced a few barely keepers to about 1.5lbs but nothing bigger. Senkos and jig/trailer combos picked up 3 more. Hard fishing all day and I don't know about the "perfect conditions" reported below.
      City: sac

Tips: Our report is nothing like the previous...not sure if it's a plug to get people's blood pumping but check out all the previous reports and the one before this seems like an ad for local stores and guides.

      Water Temp: 56-62

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Took my son and dad out for a day on CFW. Had a pretty good day considering I had to re-tie and and get snags about 50 times. Found fish near submerged willows, brush and secondary points. Boated two 3#'s and the rest below. Lost two donkeys near the boat. Both were largies im guessing a 7# and 5#. Both were on green pumpkin brush hogs pitched in at isolated willows. The rest were caught with senkos.
      City: Sacramento

Tips: Fish submerged willows in coves and inlets just before the bear river arm. Have fun and be safe.

      Water Temp: 54-62

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: With the water level up and the surface temp rising there will be more shallow fish biting and more spawners everyday.

The fishing this last week has been great but the catching on some days slow, Its like one day they bite great and then the next I have to work hard to get a limit.

We are catching fish up to 5 1/2 pounds and even a few small keeper size fish. Using plastics, jigs, swim baits and minnows.
      City: Clear Lake

Tips: Tips, if you find a school of pre spawn fish and they dont bite try returning to them a few timed during the day.
My best luck catching the pre spawn fish has been in 23 to 14 ft of water.

      Have Fun ! ............ steveperkinsfishing.com
