Water Temp: 59.5 to 62.7
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: We got on the lake by 10:30 am and started off working the third ramp on the east side of the lake in 15 feet of water the first bass landed by dewayne lucckesi was a 2 pound fish then we started moving into deeper water as deep as 30 feet and pickup several 9 to 11 inch bass before i landed a 3 pound bass we use 1/4 oz. bullet head jigs also 3/8 oz. football head jigs in light green pumpkin/barbwire and 4" twin and 5" single tail yamamoto 208 watermelon red/black flake grubs as are trailers. After 4 or 5 more 9 to 11 inch bass dwayne started carolina rigging a 6" kepper worm 082 red and green flake worm and landed a couple more bass about 1 1/2 pounds each. Then we pickup up and moved across the lake on the day use side and started fishing the second ramp in 18 feet of water and dwayne pick up a 3/8 football head jig in the light green pumpkin/barbwire and caught the big bass of are short day tipping the scale at 5 pounds we fished about 30 minutes on the day use side and then moved back too the east ramp where i put one more 11 inch bass in the boat and then we loaded the boat up and was off the water by 2:30 pm the weather was sunny a slight breezy at times very few boats. We still had fun even catching more smallier bass this trip over all still a good day. The week ahead calls for colder weather but you should still be able too land some nice bass here.
City: maderaTips: Fish slow in the deeper water jigs brushogs worms will all work

Black Butte Lake
-
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Again, not a report. Just a response to the request for a fishing tournament on this lake. This lake is too small to support the number of fisherpersons that will show up to a tournament. That is why they quit tournaments in the past. Tournament fishing should stick to the larger lakes that can support the pressure of a large number of quality anglers over a day or two. Black Butte is not large enough to support this type of pressure.

Clear Lake

Water Temp: 57-58
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: A friend and I decided to see if the night bite was going to turn on some this late fall after the tragic pounding the lake took in October. We really didn't get a fair shake since there was a pretty good wind blowing the whole time - rare for November. I fished the D&M Piranha swim jig w/Yamamoto grub trailer most of the time and caught a 4+ pounder and one about 2 1/2 lbs. My friend caught a 2 1/2 pounder also, using a brush hog. We missed 4 or 5 other bites and I did catch the token catfish - about 12 lbs. We only fished from about 7 pm to 11:30 pm. Water temp is not very cold for mid-Nov. Often it is 50-53 degrees by now. We fished some main spots in the south end and most of our bites were 12 to 25 feet.
City: Yuba CityTips: Last night provided the night conditions I love the most - bright moon dimmed by clouds with an incoming warm weather front. It was the slowest bite I have ever seen under those conditions. Either something weird was going on with the bite - or - the bass population has really declined. Or - I wonder how many bass have been given a free ride up north to the new tournament center, Konocti Vista. Anyone remember the Skylark motel tourneys in the 80's and early 90's? Darn, just can't stop wondering about these bass "migrations"! Seriously, I think better trips are ahead once the water temp drops a few degrees more. We'll see.

Hennessy Lake
-
Water Temp: 57-61
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Started at 7am with 6 inch swim bait and caught one 2 lb bass. Through spinners and cranks in shad colors and crawfish, and hooked up a few more bass and even caught a trout on a crank bait.
City: NapaTips: I was unable to put a pattern together. Even though the lake has not been stocked with trout for a few years, The trout I caught was about 9 inches long. This tells me there are a few babies being born in the lake. A few months from know a nice swim bait will produce. Happy fishin

Water Temp: 58
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Out of Lazy M around 9 AM. LOW tide. Weather reports said there was going to be an 8 MPH wind. They get it wrong again. More like 18 MPH wind going south. Not much luck with worms, (Shad) crank or char. spinners from Italian slough at Old River to Widdow Is. (only one dink) Headed for deeper water at Mildred. 2 dinks here plus one small keeper. Tried spinnerbait on the rip rap windside with no takers. Very fast fishing in that wind. One more dink at the point at Cruiser Haven. Back to Old River at Italian slough where high tide and green weenies got me 3 keepers on 3 casts.
Tips: South Delta water is not as clear as it is near Mildred.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: I have been fishing Cachuma for the last month. I have done nothing but spoon. My last trip was the best with a 5 lb. 9 oz. largemouth and a 12-13 pound limit. The jig bite is coming on now and we'll have to watch the weather and tie on accordingly.
City: OjaiTips: 3/4 oz. chrome spoon with a red hook from 20 to 45 feet...some jig fish on 1/2oz brown/ purple with yamamoto twin tail to match

Good luck to you tournament guys!

Water Temp: 64
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Launched from Markley Cove with my kids and started fishing around 8 am. Picked up a Duh! Spoon prior to launching...I'm not a spoon fisherman, but thought I would give it a try since I've read so many articles and reports referring to them. (Sounds like the thing to do to pick up those staging bass). Picked up my first spot on a spinner bait in a couple feet of water along the rip rap. Picked up my next three on the Duh! Spoon in coves and drifting across points. Picked up my fifth spot on a crankbait while searching for baitfish in the 30-40 ft range...trolling it from cove to cove. Ended the day drifting near the dam wondering if I could pick up one of those fish showing up on my graph in 100+ feet of water. Fish were showing up between 60-100 ft. Pitched the Duh! Spoon over and pulled up a nice rainbow to end the day. Made the mistake of going into the main body of water to checkout skiers cove at mid day. White caps everywhere! 3 to 4 ft waves. A couple bass boats were already there so I turned around and fished between the main body of water and Markley Cove all day. Best 5 went 7.5 lbs.
City: SacramentoTips: If you don't own a spoon, pick one up and give it a try. I recommend Morning Dawn.

Water Temp: 59
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Started out in the turning basin and cranked a couple of small ones while watching a sea lion eat about a 15lb salmon. Moved into Turner Cut and onto Mildred. Caught a few more on a drop shot senko GrnPkn/Blk but no size.
Total of about 15 fish with nothing to brag about, biggest about two pounds.
Punched mats here and there with not bites! Tough
City: HilmarTips: We threw buzz baits, crank baits; craw and blue gil colors, drop shot, Senko's wacky and punched.
Most of our bites were on or near the main channel. I think you need to stay near the main channel and be looking for cuts with current right now.

McClure Lake

Water Temp: 61.4
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished the Sonora Bass Club tourney on Saturday. 20 boats with all catching fish, but only about 8 limits. Top 3 teams had 13+ pounds for 7 fish, with most bites coming on plastics drop shot in the 25 to 40 foot range. Dead stick (very little movement)seem to work best. Most fish are suspended and tricky to catch. Fish your graph and fish verticle.
City: SonoraTips: Baitfish are real small (1 - 1 1/2 inches) and drop shotting small white/natural color plastics seemed to work best. No reaction bites (tried top water and ripping)!

Report: the red bluff bass anglers club used to do a tourny on this lake. i know several people interested in a toury here. after all is our local lake and the local clubs would have affordable tournaments with a great tourn out if they would fish here year round. people wold not struggle so much here if they would fish it more often... they would realize how great this lake really is.
City: red bluffTips: there r huge fish here.. i have caught bass on on every thing in the boat here all year long.

Water Temp: 60
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: took a couple buddies that only fish from shore for whatever. started throwing cranks without a bite. started fishing points in main body heading up creek. not getting bit at all. finally looked on graph and saw monster school of smelt. so much that u could almost walk on them. then the jig bite went off. they couldnt get bit so we hooked em up a darter head and a drop shot. well the drop shot picked up fish all day darter head zero. switched other guy to drop shot and finally he hooked up. i got limit about 9 lbs best 2.5 jig and drop shot. the guy who never caught a bass before caught his limit dropsshotting and is hooked on it. the other guy just liked setting the hook alot. usually nobody home. but he did get one fish and broke off a 3+ at boat. bummer. never flip in a three pounder on six pound test. oh snap!
City: plumas lakeTips: find bait find fish. bellies and mouths full of smelt. jig in brn and purp. and drop shot in dark colors.

We were off the water by 2:45 pm
Tips: fish slow long cast keep good contact with the bottom when using a jig i swim the bullet head back to the boat and never lose contact with the bottom it also work with arkie or football head jigs also or if your using brushogs.
