Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: STARTED FISHING @1030AM, LAUNCHED OUT OF ORWOOD.
STARTED FISHING IN KELLOG, NOTICED BABY DUCKLINGS AND A TON OF FRY???? WHATS GOING ON?? SHOULDN'T HAVE THIS TAKEN PLACE 3 MONTHS AGO? NO WONDER FISHING IS SO TOUGH NOW. I DID WIND UP CATCHING A SMALL LIMIT IN WOODARD AND OLD RIVER, MAYBE 13#S FOR 5. MOST FISH CAME ON DELTA SPEED TRAPS, DID GET ONE FISH ABOUT 4#s ON A WHITE FROG.

Tips: COVER ALOT OF WATER, LOOK FOR SHADED POCKETS WHEN THROWING THE FROG. I DID MISS MY SHARE, BUT I THINK THEY WERE JUST PLAYING WITH IT.

Report: Water level on the way to full pool again!! LM bass and stripers are busting on bait all over the lake. Shared my boat with two other DVL vets and targeted stripers. Caught some really nice ones and off the water by 1030am. Several seven - eight pounders, also three over ten pounds, biggest went 14.02 lbs. Great job Kay from Anglers Marine!!
      City: Menifee

Tips: Toss your favorite top water and rip baits in the morning on or near the busters and you'll catch stripers and LMB. Toss hair jigs and spoons after the sun comes up and make sure your reel's drag is set. Hold on!!

Report: Fished from 230 to 5 around dam area. small fish not even 12 inches everywhere. only caught 1 keeper around 14 inches in 15 foot of water. lost one over 3 at the boat. i hate this new line...flouroclear p line 15#. anyways fishing is good if your looking for bites but the size is small.
      City: redding

Tips: worms from 5 to 20 feet if you want bites. the little fish are there and hungry.

Report: Went out about 4 times the past three weeks. Fished mildred, connection slough, and franks tract. Each trip we pulled anywhere from 6-8 bass. Most of them were small but we were able to catch a couple 4 poudners. One on a small crank and the other on drop shot. The frog bite was dead for me, everywhere.
      City: pleasant hill

Tips: We caught our fish on senkos, drop shots, punching beavers, and a couple on my favorite wake bait ;)

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: wow it's been a while since i've been fishing on the delta due to heavy traffic of ski boats n all. Fishing sunday in n around slough hoping to get awayz from skiers but that didn't happen. Caugh 2 keeper n 6-7 dinks. Caught them on top water, drop shot, wacky, n frog. It got pretty crazy out there so we decided to switch over to striper with no luck
      City: elk grove

Tips: Get out early n get back in b4 all hell break loose. Ski boat pulling skiers behind them n take the middle of the river n won't allow u to pass. Wat could one do but wait behind them til skier fall or they pick a side. I swear some of the ski boat people got no respect for others boater. When Skier falls we slow down n give them distance. When we fish the come along aside of us n causing big waves , which them wake boat have the the means to do and cause us to fall over n get our boat all wet. I swear sometime i just wanna cast a rattle trap across someones face to give them a lesson...rattle trap 101..tips today is to stay kool n focus..haha..words to ya motha

Report: Since I knew the topwater bite had died I went out with an all plastics attitude. I got my clients on fish right off but they were having trouble translating bites into fish... ...I went down along inside Chismahoo and They weren't getting any fish there either so I picked up a senko and caught one first cast....Hmmm. I slowed it way down and they started to catch fish. The son Caught two limits with the most beautiful 4 pounder I have seen in a while. Good color very healthy. He caught another that was close to 6 pounds so he was stoked as that was his personal best. I brought Dad up to the front who was struggling and he started missing them left and right so I got him slowed down and he ended up with four fish...However:

10 minutes before the end of the trip I'm float'n the boat in 35 while the wind is push'n us along and I keep look'n at this shadow and the closer we get the more it's start'n to look like a fish :? ....I couldn't figure out what I was seeing so I picked up a senko rod off the deck and cast 10 inches infront of it....I see the shadow nose down and it's ....GONE. I just put the reel in gear and handed the rod to Dad. I remember him saying...Was that a bass? Just as the drag starts SCREAM'N. Oh yeah dad that's a bass. Just under 8 pounds... :D . I achieved all my goals for the day. They even had a double hook up. So we took his fish in and had it weighed in the marina where I released it.....So that was fun. I should have taken up guiding years ago it sure is fun when things are working out. The big fish was like all others this year....Shoulda gone over 12 pounds easy but was hurt'n...It was pale and emaciated with a BIG head and pale coloration and starved body. Prolly won't even be able to catch those next year after they all die off... :(

Report: Got on the lake late at noon. Fished till 3:00. Lots of rental boats and traffic. Caught 6 LM Bass. Took 2 on crank, one on frog, 2 on split shot worm, and one drop shot. All were shallow in 8ft of water on the outside weed edge. Weed points were best.
      City: Foster City

Tips: Fish early not at noon. Find the fish with crank bait. Then fish the outside weed edges and work into deeper water with soft plastics.

      Water Temp: 79- 82

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

      Report: Clear Lake, August 13th - 18th........

Fished from the south end to mid lake, finding water with less algae this week was easy.
Finding the fish on some days required some running around but when we found them they were easy to catch. Some days we caught lots of fish but a couple days it was tough to get a good limit.
Best 5 on Sunday went 23 plus pounds with a 8 pound kicker, on Tuesday 23 pounds and a 6 1/2 pounder. And a couple large catfish.

Fished Jigs, Flukes, Worms, and some Reaction. The best bite for me was deep but still caught some fish shallow.
      City: Clear Lake

Tips: The worm and jig bite was still light so be aware or they will spit it out before you can set the hook. Keep an eye on your electronics for bait and fish. If you find them and they dont bite keep going back during the day and most likely they will eat. I have been using tungsten weights for the worms and drop shot, I am addicted. Tungsten really helps to feel everything from wood to rocks, shells, etc.

Report: I had a wonderful time Fri afternoon giving a seminar to the Future Pro Tour guys and gals before their tourney today. What a great group! Hope I didn't confuse them!! After the seminar, I was able to give out many sample paks of the new 4 1/2" Yamamoto Flappin Hogs. I am thinking this will be another great night bait also, so, after the seminar and a bite to eat at McDonalds, I launched at Red Bud about 8 pm to try them out. The baits worked a lot better than I did. One of those nights where I lost a bunch of fish and snagged anything that was on the bottom!!! I lost 7 or 8 fish but did land a 3 3/4 lber and one just under 5 lbs. The big bass just crushed it, as did one I broke off. The breakoff was my fault as I was using a spinning rod with 12 lb test - what a dummy!! My left shoulder was bothering me so I used spinning rods. After losing the first 3, I realized I needed a bigger hook since the Flappin hog is a thick bait. The 5/0 Gami EWG did the trick. Overall, the night bite just didn't see very aggressive.
      City: Yuba City

Tips: Overall, the night was dark and quiet. Some carp were rolling at dusk - and then nothing. A truly amazing Friday night in August - probably because of Konocti Resort being closed. After dark, I didn't see another boat until just before I left - 12:30 am. Two pleasure boats going somewhere. I did check water clarity as best I could and found it to be pretty clear in most spots - all the way to Henderson. The cool week probably slowed it considerably. The worst water was around Fraizer Point - where I didn't get bit. My boat didn't even smell in the garage this morning!

Report: Got out early morning and left a bit after Noon. Have to say it was a great day...and one of the few when my wife out-fishes me. I had four bass total (1 dink, 3 in the 2lb. range, and a nice 3.5lb'r.).
My Lady kicked butt, with 7 fish total, all in the 2.5 to 3 lb. range. You go, Girl!!
      City: Fresno

Tips: Found a sweet spot, can't say too much.

      Lizards & brushhogs (watermelon/red flake).

Report: Ray, Delta is windy most of the time no matter where you go. We usually launch from New Hope on the north end and in 'the meadows' area there's alot of islands and trees that block wind...fishing can be hot/cold but you gotta watch the tides because the low tide can ground you.
      City: folsom

Tips: because i'm on a deepv and my trolling motor is only 55lbs, i anchor on good spots and sometimes a single anchor just drags anyway so at least it slows me down on a drift. if i want to stay there, i double anchor.

Report: I'm a new boat owner, and trying to get used to the waters. I have fished Clear Lake with some luck, but the 2 hour drive gets old. I'm about an hour from numerous ramps on the delta, so I though I would give Franks Tract a try, but the wind...WOW!! The wind was so bad, and was told it blows a lot this time of the year. Is there a place on the delta that is out of the wind this time of the year.

      Water Temp: 80

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: The bite really picked up last week, I was fun fishing and was able to catch some nice fish, the biggest was a fat 8 1/2 pounder, and then in the last two days I had to work hard for a decent limit. So any given day it can be great fishing or a lot of work.

I did much better when there was some wind, the silver sides are everywhere, I think the wind positions them on structure and then the bass are easier to catch.

I have been launching at Red Bud and the ramp and area has much cleaner water, also in the Rattlesnake side if there is some wind the algae gets moved around and it is easy to find clean water. Every day has been a bit different, I just run around and find clean water if the algae is giving me trouble.
      City: Clear Lake

Tips: For the deep bite fish slow and try Jigs, Shakey Heads, Texas ridged worms and drop shots.
For the shallow bite try 5" Sinkos or the 5" Hippo Swimbait, fish both in the weeds or along the weed edges and in shade pockets on docks.
For me, moving around until I found them was key.

Report: Nice report/tips Jim. Worth trying and we're willing to try...especially if our tactics aren't hitting. Thank you.
      City: Folsom

Tips: when your own favs aren't working, doesn't hurt to try others' tips....can't do any worse and it often gets us to practice what we don't use often enough! Folsom is a hard lake to fish; I've heard pros, local and non-resident say that.

Report: Got on the water about 7am out of markley. Headed for the sm Island. South wind blowing, but on the lee-ward side a 2.5 lbs lg mouth hooked himself while I was reeling in a white plastic worm.
Sorry to say that was it! Have fished the lake 4 times since getting a new merc motor. Got skunked the first 3 trips, but what fun scooting around with that brand new motor!
      City: Esparto, ca

Tips: Haven't a clue? Plan to continue fishing berry
at least once a week. Hopefully, in time I'll

Report: Another great day on the delta and it was made even better watching a 9 year old boy learning to fish with his dad. Take your kids fishing, trust me, they will love it. We caught over 20 fish on a variety of baits. The best producer was rip bait fished shallow. Join my Face Book by clicking "like" @ www.toadsonly.com for up to date informaion.
      City: Tracy

Tips: Fish are in less than 2' of water. Look for cover and shade for big fish.
