Tips: put in time,or just happen to be there when the fish are feeding.cant expect to go for 1-2 hours unless there on the bite which has been lasting bout an hour for the main one and about 30 minutes for the minor one.feeding varies depending on the lunar phase(most of the time.sometimes fish in the boat all day)anyways the bite has been noonish.when ur hands and arms are soar and havent got bit keep at it and all of a sudden it will be the opposite. Report: Just received the following response from the Santa Clara Water Quality Manager,

"Thank you for your message. Regarding Lexington Reservoir I believe that it is still open to fishing but just not boating. I assume you are only interested in boat fishing. You are aware that the Santa Clara County Parks and Recreation Department (Parks) currently runs a boating inspection program on four of our District reservoirs. The District helps fund part of that program but is not the owner. You'd need to contact Parks, if you haven't already, regarding implementing an inspection program on Lexington. The contact there is Ms. Kelly Klett at 408-355-2220.

As far as plans for implementing boat inspections at Lexington I can tell you that there has been recent discussions about implementing inspections at Lexington. However, funding is an issue and it would need to work under the current funding amount for the existing program since budget concerns limit additional funding.
      City: Monterey

      Tips: Call Ms. Kelly!

Report: The Fishing really has picked up in the last week with better numbers and larger fish.
In the last few guided trips I had a kid catch his first fish ever and another catch his biggest limit. Fish range from 3 1/2 to 5 1/2 pounds. On Saturday we had a 22 1/2 lb limit and over 20 fish in a 6 hour day fishing with soft plastics and some reaction baits.

I fished both the north and south end. In the south the algae is thick at the launch ramp but I was able to fish in cleaner water all week.

I found the fish to be grouped up and most of the spots we fished we could catch a bunch of them if we had patience and stayed on them.
      City: Clear Lake

Tips: Tips.. Fish slow, most of the bites are soft or just pressure.
Use your electronics to find bait and fish, If you find the bait the fish are close by. For the shallow bite flip the weed and shade pockets or throw the Frog. For deep fish keep an eye on your graph.

      Have fun!......StevePerkinsFishing.com

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Caught the "trifecta" of bass (largemouth, smallmouth, spotted bass) from the bank on Monday. First fish came on a spook around 5:40am in Markley Cove. Many hours later and no success around Oak Shores, I finally caught my other 3 bass under the Putah Creek bridge. Only one was caught in the sun. I got many more bites and landed two fish in the shade of the bridge. All my afternoon fish were caught on crawdad imitating plastics drug slowly along the bottom.
      City: Folsom

Tips: Find the shade, especially with deep water or cooler current nearby and you will find more active fish. That's all I could figure out.

Report: went to calero on sunday the 1st and monday and tuesday the 3rd. walked the shore each day. had three blowups on my buzzbait. missed two cause i got too excited. the third came off right at the shore. my drag wasnt set so i didnt get a good hookset.. rookie mistake.looked like a 2.5-3 lber. went back the next day(monday) to reedeem myself. caught three fish and missed two blowups where the fish really didnt commit. caught two on a buzzbait(1.5 & 2.5).and caught a 3.2 lber on a super spook jr. i saw some fish chasing bait on the surface threw the spook out, twitched it twice and bam a fish hit it but jumped over my bait twitched it acouple more times and he came back and gobbled it. when i got him close i noticed there was three other fish swimmimg alongside of him all about the same size. came back the next day on tuesday and caught two. one on the spook again and one on the buzzbait. got there around eight and left by noon each day. every morning it was foggy until 930-10..but the funny thing is i never got a bite until that sun popped out thru the fog.
      City: santa clara

Tips: throw buzzbaits right along the weed patches scattered along shore.

Report: Got out early sat morning. I threw a black buzzbait and my partner threw a baby bass spook. Partner caught a few up to 2 1/2 lbs while the buzzbait didn't produce. Topwater bite died so we went straight to punching mats. Fish were biting but not near as aggressively as last week. Did not get the numbers or quality as last week but we were definitely still catching them. Missed a lot of fish because they weren't very aggressive... and also broke one of on 65 lb braid...
      City: Modesto

Tips: Throw a spook or similar lure in the mornings and punch mats when the sun gets higher. When punching let your bait hop a few more times and work it a little slower than you're used to. Pay attention cuz they aren't slamming it like they were a week ago. Also check your line even when fishing braid cuz its very strong but not very abrasion resistant. It will break your heart real quick.

Around noon my partner gets a 3 pounder on a lavender shad BBZ-1 and three casts after that I caught it's sister on the same weedline break on an all white buzzbait. Around 2:00 I hooked another buzzbait fish but my hand sliped off the rod and I wound my finger into the levelwind gearing....By the time I got myself un clustered It was gone....Same size fish as the previous...about 3 pounds. We moved in behind all of the anchored boats and caught one more on a senko before I had my frog blown sky high with a spectacular miss. Off the water at 3:00

      Water Temp: 81-84

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Mike Sperbeck and I fished the lake Thurs late afternoon and up to midnight. The previous algae bloom was gone and the water was pretty clear. bite was real slow in the evening as the delta breeze was very strong and cool. That killed any topwater bite. Mike caught a few 1 to 2 lbers and I had a good moment as I hooked a 4 to 5 pounder on a Power worm but lost her when she jumped. When the moon came up about 10:30 the bite was fair and we caught several up to 2 1/2 lbs. The bite died shortly after. I was using the 10" Power worm all the time - hoping for the big bite. Mike was using a small beaver and was catching the most. I think we boated 11 bass and missed a bunch.
      City: Yuba City

Tips: Bass and bait are still in the top 30-35 feet of water. Lake level is holding very well - only down a few feet. The might have dumped in some water from Pardee - I don't know. Weeds are not real bad except in very shallow water.
