Water Temp: 65
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: trying to figure out the pattern can't do that cuz I cant launch my electric motor'd boat or a fck'n float tube.. If ya all agree let the freeking rowers pay for the inspection.. Dam correct me if I'm wrong... HEY THEY RUN GAS MOTORS IN THERE AND THE MOTORS ARE TWO STROKES LOS GATOS ROWING CLUB AND ALL THE CLUB'S DONT OWN IT... I PAY TAXES ALSO..
City: san joseTips: This is the tip. The rowers have access, so should I.. I live on the lake.. Open the lake to everyone, not gas motor's , electric , is good.. but.. the los gatos rowers and other rowers big lake stay in the middle.. Come on , the lake is beautiful now, and I can't enjoy it... IF I CANT THEN THE THE ROWER'S CANT .. If you disaggree with this then let me know,, and or call the parks and recreation department , let them know that those boats have to be inspected every time they leave the lake,, WHO IS CHECKING THOSE OUT WHEN THEY COME BACK....LET ME KNOW

Report: Overcast day seemed to turn on the bite in the back of the coves as they were spawning. I was in a Kayak and actually had them following me.
Tips: Used the green 6" worms texas rigged and followed up with a shad type crank for the bigger fish.

Water Temp: 64-67
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Was I crazy to agree to guide a grandpa, his son, and his 4 yr old granddaughter and 6 yr old grandson - 2 days after the Memorial Day holiday? I thought so - but I was up to the task - I hoped!! Great family! So, off we went from the dam on the somewhat crowded Ranger 520! We had three Loomis rods rigged with 4" Robo worms and started on the east side of the main body. Water was nice and clean with very little floating wood. Dad got a bite on the first cast but luckily, missed it! No Jinx this time! He soon caught an 8" smallmouth - rare these days. I was working with the boy - yes, his name is "FINN" - helping him with casting and retrieving a worm. I had a bite and set the hook. Wow - good fish - handing it to Finn and hoped he could handle it. He did very well and soon put a 16" spot in the boat. That was the beginning of an amazing 4 hours. Dad and the kids landed 4 more spots at 15 1/4, 16 1/2, 16 7/8, and 17 3/8 inches - 5 over the slot! They hooked and landed them all except for the first one that I handed off to Finn. They landed around 15 to 17 bass - including a LARGEMOUTH in the middle fork! We saw another largemouth also. After the kids discovered my worm box and explored that for the last hour, I taught the "men" how to drop-shot and they landed some (including the biggest spot) and missed some. Lots of smiles during the trip and the boat rides were a highlight - especially for Finn! He was hoping we could go 80 MPH! I told him not to dare tell his mother how fast we did go!!!
City: Yuba CityTips: The first "over 15" that Finn and I shared was caught on a MMIII 4" Robo worm. The other 4 "overs" were all caught on a morning dawn w/ chartreuse tail 4" Robos. A few were caught on Aarons Magic colors. Clay banks with chunk rock were our best areas. The bass were from 5 to 25 feet. The lake is flooding grass now - a beautiful sight to see. It is about 70+ percent full. Because of the limited time and learning curve, we only used Robo worms. That's all you need at Oroville. I guess the bigger bass figured it was safe to eat since the holiday was over. You just never know what will happen when you leave the dock!!

Pillsbury Lake
-
Water Temp: 65
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Took a 30mile rough-ass drive from Upper Lake to Pillsbury.Lake is full and looks perfect for largemouth(willows in water, shallow coves, rocks and stumps.About 15 mins. into it, stuck a 4lb'er with a Sweet Beaver. It's partner followed it to boat. We figured it was on, but it turned out to be the only bass bite rest of day! There is low pressure coming in right now, so we're hoping that's what put the fish off.Saw no trout, bait fish, or surface action. Since this is 1st time to Pillsbury in many years, not exactly sure what to think about the poor fishing. Hopefully the fish population is there, it may still be too early.
City: Hidden Valley LakeTips: Be sure to have your quagga mussel sticker and go in from Potter Valley side, the road is much better.
Oh ya, the friggin squaw fish love senkos!

Berryessa Lake
-
Water Temp: 66-68
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished putah creek. Thru buzz baits and poppers without a swirl. Spinners and cranks nothing. Drop shot produced one smallmouth and a few large mouth. I then tied on a 3 inch swim bait and started finding a more aggresive bite. By the the time we were off the lake at 2:00pm we had caught 9-10 bass and one 2 lb crappie. The crappie crushed the swim bait.
City: NapaTips: Talked with a couple other guys who had about the same day as us. A little more hot weather and things will get better and better.

Report: My partner and I started first light down south today. Fished Senkos and Dropshot in and around docks. Most of the morn.a few fish to 2 lbs.I tied on my small shellcracker and stuck 2 4lb fish right away. as we moved around more docks I stuck 3 more fish in the same range. Should have retied. I lost my bait to a pig around a piling. That was the only bait we had. hard lesson learned. But a good day over all.
City: BrentwoodTips: Senkos and small worms have been working for me early. Tried something different and payed off.

Clear Lake

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Hey when i said the agrressive strike thing i didn't mean that was the spawning behavior i was just saying we got 2 aggressive strikes on the flukes i meant the spawning behavior was when the fish would chase the fluke and just nudge it.Thats what i was saying was the spawning behavior
City: Oakdale CA -
Water Temp: 65-69
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: A friend and I just returned from a 4 day trip at Clearlake last week (June 1 to the 5th). We arrived Tuesday afternoon and we were on the water by 5 pm. The weather was terrible with lots of wind and a 3 foot swell on the south end. We tried a few of my normal spots but it was difficult to fish so we moved into the Clearlake Oaks channel area but couldn
Tips: Be patient and optimistic. Find the right spot with right conditions. It was Soda Bay for us.

Water Temp: 59.5 to 63
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Rented a really nice place from June 1st to June 5th in paradise cove. Must say the bite totaly sucked. We fished half of wednsday, all of thursday, and all of friday. Fished a little off our dock on tuesday but thats it. We ended up catching 13 out of 4 people. Better bite was in late afternoon or early morning. Found fish on beds behind Richmond Bar and Grill and flipped tubes at em for awhile. took 30 min to get one to commit to completely eating the bait. Caught all our fish on Ochos, Senkos, and some hits on the Chatterbait along with one caught on it. A lot of fish are spawning look for gravel banks and private ramps, structural docks, and the deeper spots between moss beds and tules or tulle points. We also threw flukes and couldn't believe how many would just follow them or nudge or nip them. Only one tried eating it.Oh and there was 2 agressive strikes. Definite spawning behavior. All of the fish were 2 to 4 pounds. My friend even caught a nice smallie which was surprising to me i didn't think there were many in Clear Lake.
City: Oakdale CATips: Senkos and Ochos worked best fished slow around tulle points, ramps, docks, between moss beds and tulles, and structural things like hand rails and steps around docks. Try flukes i think if you work them hard enough u can trigger strikes. Look for gravel banks too for beds

Hennessy Lake

Water Temp: 60's

Report: This lake can be tough, Best bet with current conditions is to run to north side work the inlets and the bank on NE side back with watermelon red sekos or tx hogs in wat/red or blue/black on overcast. white on white blades. the gizard shad is in this lake so i use blue back silver speed traps. try a dad like the river to sea yabby the little one and you will get um.
City: napa/vacavilleTips: work from the big inlet in the north back and find em in about 5 to 10.its all sand and run off with perfect bedding areas.

Report: Started of Sat Am on the damn throwing spooks and jerkbaits for nothing. Ended up getting two small spots on a gitzit before heading in for breakfast! Went back out after breakfast and found a huge school up north who were just stuffed with shad! ended up with a 3+ largie. 2.5 pound spot and 6 or 7 keepers!
City: RosevilleTips: Throw shad colored worms on a drop shot rig and later in the afternoon, breakout the topwater in the backs of coves with scatterd brush in them! Great place to take somone who has never fished before and get them on a bass..

Del Valle Lake
-
Water Temp: 64-68
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Went out early Monday trying to beat the crowd but didn't see many boats bass fishing. After a couple of hours I can see why. First of all they drop the water about 5ft.So that had something to do with the bite.I tried everything you would this time of year, topwater, crankbaits, spinnerbait, dropshot, etc. No takers in the south end.I finale got bit on steep rock banks on a superhog got 2 about 1 1/2lbs.and a trout on a crankbait about 3 lbs. Tough day on the water. hope to get em' next time. Good Luck
City: FremontTips: Go Fishin.onwards... And give it your best shot.
