Water Temp: N/A Cold
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: First time I fished here in a long time. Walked the bank around the dam throwing cranks and 6" worms. Nothing. Went back along south side and walked down some steep banks and did OK. Thrownig Kevkel fur jigs in brown and orange. Had 2 really quick both about 2 lbs. found a good point and picked up 3 in less than 5 mins, all were in the 2 lb range. Didnt do anything else there. About an hour later on another point picked up 2 more. One was pushing 4 lbs. Not bad for a couple of hours. Thats the best I'v done here in years. Hope for better days ahead
City: San JoseTips: All the fish were in about 15' of water and all caught on Kev-Kel fur jigs in brown and orange. didnt even get bit on anything else.

Report: I went to Shadow to see if there were any spawners up yet and there were a few but not any big numbers yet. I did see a few about 7-9 lbs but no real big ones today. I also could not get them to eat anything. After the next storm I think there should be some good numbers of fish up on beds.

McClure Lake

Water Temp: 59
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished from 1PM to 6PM. Caught 14 Spots, 1 Black, all 12-14" with one about 3lbs. Basically I hit all the points and rock piles, ans throwing right at the bank. Most were caught on Watermelonseed/Red Flake Lizards, and I had quite a few bites on Natural Shad Senkos hooked Wacky style. Most fish were caught in 3-4 feet, with some as deep as 25-30 feet. Seeing more fish in the shallows, but no spawning bass yet. Water is at the base of the flat concrete slab on the west side of the dam.
City: MercedTips: Fish are 10-20 feet and going shallow to bite..throw anything that threatens the nest: Lizards, Minnows, Trout/Shad Patterns, etc...Water is warming fast..

Sonoma Lake
-
Water Temp: 55 - 61
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Friday 3/26/10, I fished from the back of my buddy
Tips: In the afternoon during periods of no wind, we could see fish up near shore looking for spawning beds. They would swim off when we threw our bait to them but would return in a minute or so. All these fish appeared to be small males. The full moon on Monday may bring the larger females up shallow to look for a mate. The bite should get real good.

California Delta
-
Water Temp: 59-60
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Fished thursday from 1pm-7pm caught 17 bass, biggest went 5 pounds. Best 5 went 19 pounds. Caught all of the fish on cranks, lipless and shallow divers, crawfish pattern. Also caught 11 striper and the biggest was 8 pounds.
City: Elk GroveTips: Little faster retrieve worked for me, but I also had wind and cloud cover.
-
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished the high tide/outgoing tide this afernoon in east delta. Managed a pattern quickly. The low pressure system and wind must have turned them on. Had a really hard bite from one that pulled like a hog and then just sat down into the weeds. I was thinking to myself, this must be another 10 lber. Turns out it was about 4 lbs but went into the weeds and made it felt like a 10 lber.
City: stocktonTips: Cloudy + winds = blades. They just wanted the blades today!

Camp Far West Lake
-
Water Temp: 53-60 depending
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: I was there yesterday Thursday March 25th. Only saw two other boats one fishing for bass and one fishing for trout. We didn't get on the lake till 9:00. Wind was blowing , overcast and 58 degrees air temp. Water was 54 degrees and visibility was 1-2 feet. Got a few taps. Ran up the Bear River arm an water was 55-57 degrees caught three on tubes and worms. Move to Goat Ranch and found the warm water 58-60 degrees caught three all on tubes. All fish were shallow less than 3 feet. Graphed a lot of fish suspended and staging at the first break.
The spawn is close and it will be big.
City: Citrus HeightsTips: Fish slow and shallow

Shasta Lake
-
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Yes, the jones valley ramp is open. However, it is not the primary launch, you have to drive out just a ways on a dirt road to a secondary ramp.
City: ReddingTips: The fish are coming up and they are coming up quick. Try any water around where running water is coming into the lake and in smaller coves. Senkos have been killing them. Also caught a few on jerkbaits. Good Luck man.

California Delta

Water Temp: 60
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Out of Ladds about 8:00am worked first two hours toward downtown hitting points off main channel; not a bite. Decided to work our way toward Mildred by hitting the cuts off main channel. My brother flips a 6" Green Pmkn/Blk Flake senko on the outer weed line and sets the hook; good fish! almost 12#; always great to start the day with a toad. So we continue to flip the weed lines with senkos and do OK. Caught about fifteen total with the best five going about 26 lbs.
City: HilmarTips: Weed lines, slow presentation, dark browns greens.
-
Water Temp: 59
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Fished five days, 20th to 24th. Franks did OK most of the time, with a limit to 15 lbs. Disapointment was slow, 2 to 3 fish a day, up to 3 lbs. Potato only produced one fish. The best fish came from the main channel, cranks and senkos, w/ a few fish on 7" worms. Generally the fishing is slow, w/ no large fish up yet. The seals look like they are eating well this trip!
City: ValenciaTips: Wait for two weeks and the larger fish should be up by then.
-
Water Temp: 59-63
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished in the middle of the day so I could fish high tide. Had to work for my fish. Only able to scratch up a limit. 2 caught on spinnerbait, two caught on crank, 1 caught on senko.
City: Elk GroveTips: As the sun was up high and not much wind, I probably should have focused more on plastics.

McClure Lake

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished Wednesday, April 24 from 7:30am-2pm. Caught 16 Bass on Senko's and Drop Shot. I caught a few shallow (6 feet) but mostly 14-20 feet deep. I just love it when you throw out a Senko and as it's falling you see your line screaming to one side. Way too much fun. Mostly slot fish but some over 15 inches. I caught most of them on points or by big rocks. The biggest fish came on a bare bank close to the end of a cove. Probably some big fish in the spots where most of us don't fish.

Berryessa Lake
-
Water Temp: 51-58
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Lots of alge all over the lake in the north end. The bite was slow, although most of our fish were in ten to fifteen feet of water around trees. On our way back to the ramp we went to school house and pick up a nice spot.
City: NapaTips: Waiting for over night temps to maintain 50 deg and day time temps to maintain 68-72 deg and the all bass fishing will begin to EXPOLODE. Maybe by the April full moon we will be there. Keep fishing and good luck to all.
-
Water Temp: 53 - 61
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Tuesday, 3/23/10. There were only a few boats on the lake. The air temperature at 9 AM was about 50
Tips: Keep fishing and the bite should get better.
