Report: tough fishing. smaller fish (.75 - 1.5 lbs) seemed to be schooled of points 15-20ft deep. bigger fish (one 5 lbs and two 3 lbs) came 3-10 feet off of structure close to deep water.

Tips: stay cool and jump in the water

      Water Temp: 79

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: On the water late, launched at 1pm. Way too hot! A lot of bait fish in the water, but did not see many cruisers. Girlfriend, aka drop shot queen, get one solid keeper of a shad colored worm. I toss a Jackall ghost minnow SP rip bait. I get five LMB, biggest was 3lber, and one nice striper. Water is dropping, but still pretty high and clear. A few weeks back, the frog bite was outstanding!
      City: Sun City

Tips: Find deeper weed lines and grass. Toss a suspending jerk bait in a bait fish pattern. If you find any good looking frog water, toss the black or brown frog. This place has really big bass!

Report: Took one last trip to the North Delta Sacramento River. I had a freind who had not Bass fished in a long time. We went up and started throwing crankbaits and before long we were into the Smallies. Small Crawfish cranks in orange /brown or Red worked fine. Caught fish rippin and on buzzbaits. Most fish were smaller this time around but we killed them until 1pm.

This trip I caught,Largemouth,Smallmouth,SPotted, and StripedBass as well as a crappie all on crankbaits.
      City: Sacramento

Tips: Fish the outgoing tide were trees are sparse on the bank with current and rip rap. 8 lb test small cranks in natural color craws.

Right now the crawfish are dark redish brown on top with aqua blue on the sides and really red orange on the bottom.....match it!!!6-8ft diving.

So i tie on a red yozuri and hit some smaller fish, then right outside Tower Park i get a keeper. We move to sycamore my buddy lost one on a frog and missed another, i got nothin punchin and my brother got nothin crankin. We move to whites and get nothing. At the end of the day we move back to the wall and fish our way back to the ramp, i missed two on a buzzbait, even had a trailor hook, my buddy gets three blowups on the frog with no hookups. Fish dont seem to be very aggresive on the top water.

Report: Well, I said I'd take a break but just thought the slight weather change below 80s-90s might bring on a bite......NOT! Saw lots of fish anywhere from 7ft to 40ft. Lots at 25-35ft. Caught my best 6"er of the year! Oh, what a NICE HIT! And then the reality hit me that it was only 6inches. Gotta love Folsom Lake for bein' 5mins from my house....keeping me from going elsewhere!! Delta, here we come!!!
      City: folsom

Tips: Sorry, anyone getting excited over a 6" bass is not qualified to give tips. 6 HUGE inches!!!!

Report: I took out a wonderful family for a half day Friday. As a guide the most important objective is to give your clients a great, fun and happy experience and with that, catch some fish. Well I had such a great time with this family as they were learning how to fish and how excited they all got for each other catching bass. I keeped it simple with shakey-head Robo worms and twin tail grubs jigs to get the bites for the family. We fished in the main body on the points and rocky walls and a little on the North Fork in mud lines. Lots of high fives and photos of fish and fishermen for jobs well done. It was a great day.
      City: Paradise

Tips: Bites came from 5-30 ft. The watermelon/red flake and watermrlon/black flake twin tail grub jig worked the best for the day.

      Water Temp: 80-82

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I have night fished Amador hundreds of times in the last 30 years and have seen all kinds of weather, but last night was different. I think the bass knew it too. Full moon night - for awhile. Soon the moon was dimmed by off and on clouds and later it became quite dark by thick clouds and the incoming cold front. Stiff breeze from the west lasted into the a.m. - very rare in the summer. There were lots of boats of course, but don't know if there was a lot of catchin'! We had a slow night - my client lost 2 and I lost 2 or 3 but landed 2 in the 2 1/4 - 2 1/2 lb range. Don't feel too bad for him - he has previously landed bass to 12 lbs at Amador! I did talk to some nice fellas before leaving and they did catch 2 small bass - and another "nice" bass - a 10 pounder!! That was a good 3 fish limit!!!
      City: Yuba City

Tips: Try again in September?! I think the weather slowed the bite for sure. My client was self-contained, bring several rods all rigged with good stuff. He got his hits on a Senko and a jig. I couldn't get bit on plastic worms and othe baits. All my bites were on the D&M Piranha swim jig, black/blue, with a Yamamoto grub trailer. Those bites were about 20 feet deep and before midnight. I lost the first 2 because I forgot the hook on the first swim jig was dull. My error! Those "chatter" type baits require a sharp hook.

Report: Thought the fish would be shallow today, with the storm front moving in. Not so. They were even deeper, about 18 ft for me. Another guy told me he was getting them down at 30 ft with the shallowest at about 20 ft. Size small with best going about 1.5 lb.
      City: San Jose

Tips: Friday Aug 7 should be the first day after the storm front. Should be a poor bite. Good challenge and character building.

Report: Launched outta ladds headed for old river, we fished from the train bridge and worked our way to franks throwing bluegill and white/char spinner baits,blk/blu senco, and brn/purp jigs.We picked up two keeper fish the whole time in old river, then headed south down by woodward and picked up one more keeper, i picked up the frog and threw on some cheese down there and had a massive swirl and then one more blow up.From there we heade for whisky, missed one on a spinner bait and finally picked up a frog fish.
      City: modesto

Tips: Today was a long hard grind covering alot of water but we are learning more areas covering this water. The bigger fish are in the heavy stuff, shoulda just went to punching but didnt want to put in the work, wasnt mentaly prepared for the patience it woulda took, just wanted to keep moving in hopes of running into some fish but it didnt happen. My plan has been to pick a bigger river and stay on it all day.Rabbi sup

Report: Been catching 2-4 keepers a day along with a half dozen dinks. Fish seem to be in the weeds or on broken rock. Some fish shallow around 7 ft, but most at around 16 ft. Not great bite, but OK.
      City: San Jose

Tips: Light colors seem to work better. Reds, watermelon, etc. Most fish on plastics. Shallow fish early, then down to 16 ft.
