Camp Far West Lake
-
Water Temp: 51.4
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Launched out of the south end of the lake. Water level has come up since last weekend. Started out at the Damn around 7:30 am. Caught 7 or 8 on a drop shot in about 20 feet of water. Made a run up the north arm of the lake and started fishing rock points. Most of the bigger fish that we caught were in the north arm on drop shots and texas rigged Robo worms. Ended the day with 25 fish. Biggest went 3.9 and best 5 went 12.5. All in all a pretty good day at Campfar West.
City: Citrus HeightsTips: Most fish were in about 20 feet of water. Fish rocky points and fish them slow! Drop shot worked best for us. Folkstead and MM111 worms. Stay patient and watch your line most bites were very subtle.

Water Temp: 57
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Hello mr. tkboodie, where did you catch the striped bass? was it in the franks tracks hrs. of 4 to 5pm? If so which part of franks track, east, west, north or south? I've been very busy and I would to catch a bunch of those fiesty critters. I was told by friends that stripers like to hang out in flats. I really would appreciate if you can answer my question. I'm planning to go striper fishing December 15th and would love to run into a school of them.

Water Temp: 53-54
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: I fished Tues and Wed evenings - just for the fun of it. I will have to say that Wed evening was the most stunningly (is that a word?) beautiful Dec night I've ever seen! Water was a pane of glass - shoreline lights and Christmas decorations everywhere! It was cold but not the usual Clear Lake cold. That comes this weekend!! The fishing was pretty good but monsters were hard to find, in fact, I didn't find any! Tues night I had 15 bites and landed 13 of them for a near 21 lb limit (half the weight of my limit a month ago)! Wed night I couldn't put them all in the boat - only landed 8 for 19+ lbs. I had 3 hard winter bites (finally) and missed those for some reason. Big fish Tues night was a 7+ that I didn't weigh. She hit a Chatterbait in about 35+ feet of water and it took awhile to get her up. I released her immediately so as not to stress her out.
City: Yuba cityTips: Tues evening I caught a few bass as shallow as 2 or 3 feet on rock ledge-type banks, where there was a slight shoreline shadow which blocked the bright moonlight. With the water this clear, fishing anywhere in the bright winter moon can be real tough. Remember, the winter moon is like the summer sun - straight up at midnight. You can read a book out there in the moonlight. I find I can get some good bass to bite on a bright night if I can find shadows or fish deeper than 25 feet in open water. I caught all my bass on plastics and a few at dusk on brown/orange Rodstrainer jigs with the usual "180" Yamamoto grub trailer.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: I have an idea! why dont we use this page as a fishing report and not a hate blog! sure the lake is down. but what are we going to do about it? thats right nothing! if you want to complain get a my space page. and if i had to guess everyone that is upset is more than likely retired. enough of that, fishing was average. we boated 13 bass in 3 hrs. green tubes, threw to shore and brought it back in to 15-25 feet of water. nothing to fancy.

Report: MR. Anderson, randy perfectly described the conditions at cetimundi this morning. i put in at 8AM and didn't use the crappy little ramp that was there then. when i came back at 445PM a new float was in as you described. Randy told the truth, you failed to mention the other piece of crap that was there. Rady's statement was spot on. you do a diservice to the customers who make it possible for you to have an income.

Water Temp: 50
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Very slow day fishing, but ran into a flurry of stripers during from 4 to 5 pm. Caught 3 LMB, biggest went 2lbs. 1 steel head...YEAH thats right, a steel head in the delta, out of franks....one of the weirdest experiences of my life. Used an LC bevy shad, all day, and when this steel head hit, it was a bullet. She came charging towards the boat, and my 6:1 shimano couldnt reel the line fast enough, so the fight was not hard initially. The fish did do 3 jumps, which was a pretty sight to see. Luck for me, the fish wanted the bevy shad so bad, that all 3 hooks of the treble closed its mouth shut....so this fish was not getting away. The steel head was 15" inches long, probably about 2 lbs. Made the whole day worth while!! Ended the day with 5 stripers, 4 keepers.
City: el sobranteTips: All fish caught on suspending jerk baits. All fish hit on the pause. locate the bait fish, and you'll find the fish eating them.

Report: Seems it is too much to ask for.."Do what you get paid to do"..this float sitiation is just like all the rest of the vendor/Government contracts.. they get hooked up...then do nothing for their money we pay them to exist..We, all of us who bought passes for 08 got screwed..now looks like 09 we could get another sturdy Rogering..shoot Oroville is extending their ramps and they want their fisherman to have access...they use the money for good not greed...I have sent money in for my 09 pass..if they don't keep the floats and ramps usable for the purpose intended for what they charge us I will file a claim in small claims court.
City: ReddinTips: Let's all be nice to them...Let's all hold them accountable...Let's all have a Merry Christmas..
