      Report: Fished for a few hours and picked up 10 bass with the largest just under 6 lbs. It was my second largest bass on Anderson. Fished a combination of drop shot and top water from 9-12. Caught a 3.5, a 2.5 and the rest were smaller. All fish were caught in 3-5ft of water around grassy areas. The pig was caught on a frog on the inside weed edge at noon with blue bird clear skies and no wind. Who would have thought to even throw it. I missed a number of fish on the frog in open water. Big explosive bites. My rigging was a little off causing the misses. Tried a PopR in the same areas and no luck. Used a 4" cut tail worm in shad color on the drop shot.

      Tips: Fish top water around weeds in shallow water. Fish drop shot on the outside weed edge. Be sure you boat is dry before inspection. A guy with a big bass boat was rejected because he some how forgot the 20gal of water in his live well.The inspector sent him packing.

      Report: First time on central delta in many years today. We launched out of B&W, and since its like starting all over again for us.....we began fishing the Mokelume at first light. Several missed bites pitching plastic crawdads; damn I'm out of practice!!! One blow up on a topwater. Went down Lil Potato, nothing to show for it. Took a ride down to fisherman's cut, and stuck a nice 4.5lber. Fished a frog hard down that way...no blow ups? Hmmmm. Going out tommorrow first thing in am.....need more practice!! LOL

      Report: In at county park at 0630 hrs. First stop was Shag Rock where there were numerous other boats. Made a few cast and left. Hit several other areas near Bradus and Buckingham. No fish and no blowups on Frogs or Horney Toads. Finally went to the area of the "Tires" near Lucern and caught one 2 lbs on a Horney Toad. We then hit several of my key areas including shallow and deep structure. We threw crank baits, Carolina rigs, Buzz Baits, Brush Hogs, Senkos and lizards. Our best fish (3 lb)came in shallow water throwing a shollow running craw dad crank bait. I noted the area was void of mats had a gravel bottom and it seemed the bass had corraled balls of bait near shore. I also observed numerous dead carp everywhere and that is not an exageration. I have never seen so many dead carp in my life. Small ones big ones and a lot in between, everywhere, and they stink. I also observed a whole heck of a lot of young bass. Both last year and this years spawn are activley feeding on silversides. There is also a ton of bait everywhere. Also crappee are making a come back as there young are everywhere in the tules. The carp I oberved, that are not dead yet, have numerous white sores on them that are about the size of a quarter.

      Tips: In the area of Nice and Lucern try a Craw Dad Crank in shallow water 1' to 5'. Cover a lot of water quickly. Watch for actively feeding fish. Throw to agressive fish with a top water of your choice. I had a white horney toad and colored the legs yellow. Small bass in the tules will hit small worms on a light slick shake jig head wackey. The smell of rotting carp in the morning is still better then going to work!

      Report: Rumors are circulating that Coyote and Stevens Creek will close to all watercraft activity at the end of October.

      Report: Not sure about Calero but Coyote will be closing some time in late Oct. Since San Luis is so low they will use the water to keep Anderson full. Why did the spend all that money to make the campgrounds bigger and nicer if they just shut the lake down all the time? No 10lbrs this winter. It is possible they will also use calero's water for something as well. hopefully we get a ton of rain this year and have coyote open by spring.

      Report: dave and I put in at red bud at about 7am went to tip of indian is. and on first cast I caught a 1 lber.on a lt grn sinko whacky style. didn't get another bight for next twohours.then at the boat docks I caught a 7 lb cat on a worm also a 2.6 smallie . by 1:30 we caught 16, most very small

      Report: Two of my friends and I rented about a bout 6:30am, we were the second ones out to rent a boat.. We tried kastmaster, senkos, jiggs, topwater, everything and about 8:30 I got bit on an anchovy.. It was a nice 2.5-3lb catfish, then shortly after my friends got doubles on a nice stiper and catfish also on anchovys.. Then my friend got another cat, we moved out by the dam I got a cat!! Then...!!!!!!! My friend pulled in a 36" 11 pound striped bass at about 11:00 am!!!!! We had to go after that our stinger was about full and we had no where to keep that monster besides layin on the floor of the boat! If we would have stayed we would have caught even more fish!! But we didnt have another or big enough stringer for the big one. Best day of fishing I ever had!!

      Report: launched at 3:30 and fished the southern banks. WINDY, which made it pretty tough. managed to catch 6 fish with the biggest about 3#. caught them on baby bass crank and a 10" power worm. talked to 3 other guys and they all had a pretty tough day as well.

      Report: Fished a tournament with the Fresno Bass Club last weekend. We had guys with 30+ bags. My fish came shallow on cranks and Sankos. There are in deep water as well in the 20-25 foot range dragging drop shot or Texas rigs. Purple death or robo worms in oxblood seams to work. I hit on deep crank baits worked like a jerk bait.

      Tips: Bills report should do you a world of good as he kicked butt last weekend with a 30+ bag at weigh-in.

      Report: Back again for more, stayed a bit longer. Fished the south end again. This time got no bites. Fished the dock too with no luck. Same at the impound. When I was fishing the dock there were some guys fishing for carp. I seen him pull a couple of them up using 15 ft rods ....lol woah.. anywayz, no fish today for me... ill be back some time later this week.....

      Report: This past weekend was very successful for bass if you trolled. The question
      now is where to troll and how deep. Tom and Marie headed toward the east
      side of the lake and looked for signs of balls of bait in the water. His fish-
      finder showed there was fish activity between 20 to 25 feet down. He used
      a pink lady and crankbait to get down deep enough and it worked because he
      ended up with two nice limits of bass which included a nice 4+ pounder. My
      wife and I went out for a little while that evening but we didn't do as well. My
      wife's bass was larger than mine but no real size to speak of. Juan is holding
      one of the catfish I caught at the dock by the marina. (see photos)
      My fishing tip this week is to first find the bait and target the depth. Water is
      still clear. My recommendation is to zigzag from 15 feet to 30 feet until you
      find where they are and troll with different depth crankbaits one that goes
      around 6 feet down on the shallower side and 12 feet down on the deeper
      side of the boat. Please let me know how you did.

      Tips: fish now while the water is clear,almost any color will work now water is cooling down,natural is what i use or silver and blue.

      Report: went out to mildred in the morning caught one 2 pounder on popper. some more blows ups and some blow ups on buzz bait at about 6:30 AM. went out to a slough right after next to cruiser haven marina caught about 15 stripers and a miss of about a ten pounder on a jerk bait. went out to franks one dink.

      Tips: topwater in early morning. use poppers in mornings and once the sun goes up a little switch to a walk the dog.

      Report: Got to the lake on Tuesday and found a very tough bite BUT as the week progressed I found some good action. Most days resulted in a 17-20lb sack on a variety of techniques but there was one technique that worked better than all the rest. There are some deep fish but there are shallow fish too. With all the tournaments coming up I can't give it all up but don't get discouraged by reading some of the previous reports because there definitley is a pattern and there are some good ones to catch. In reality I should have had 22-25 lbs per day but I did loose some key fish but thats the way it goes.

      Tips: Cover a lot of water and pay attention to what your doing when you get bit. Don't leave fish to find fish or you will pay the price!!

      Report: Fished a two day club tourney and the bite was tough! I had one fish each day and still got 13th out of 21 people. Many people blanked either one or both days...

      Of course, it didn't hurt that my one Sunday keeper was a 6.5 lber that hit a white spinnerbait off Shag. That one at least made the trip worthwhile.

      It seemed the front that moved through Friday really lockjawed the fish. The only people who got into them with any consistancy were fishing deep (25-30 feet) and slow. Of course, I didn't find that out until we wrapped up after the final weigh in.

      Report: I did a "teach the lake" trip yesterday with two real good fishermen. The teachin' and learnin" was great, but the fishing wasn't. Sat was the first slight post-front of the year and I felt the bite suffered some. We did catch 5 or 6 nice bass up to 3 lbs and a couple of - yes - 4 inchers!! Good to see them. They are fishing a tournament soon so not much else to say.

      Tips: Water temp has dropped 5 degrees in a few days so fall is coming - ready or not! Lots of boats on the water yesterday and we did see two nice bass caught (around 5 lbs?). Weeds have really thinned out in some places.

      Report: Fished from 4 to 8 pm. 7 bass from 1-4 lbs. on dropshot on the east shore. then moved to the boat ramp at 7 pm. Caught 4 more from 2 to 5 lbs on a crankbait in sexy shad color. The last hour was insane as the fish appeared to be chasing shad up onto the ramp.

      Report: Caught 3. Two dinks on a senko and a 3#'r on a black and blue jig off a secondary point on the eastern bank of the main lake with vegetation,
      adjacent to deep water. Saw others catching a few as well. Worked hard for those 3.
