      Water Temp: 52-53

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Windy, Windy, windy....water was pretty rough..caught six total for the day..probably going for 5 pounds. Caught three throwing cinnamon/green flake yamamoto twin tail hula grubs on dart head...1 drop shotting with keeper pearl/blue 4" worm..one on a Lucky Craft rip bait... one on a Watermelon seed/red flake baby brush hog...all were caught five feet from the bank..but fish finder showing most 15-25 feet...saw piles of bait fish all along the old dam, what's left of ski cove, and along the old railroad posts half way to horseshoe...no luck though...everything caught was in the rocks...good news is the lake levels are rising with the old dam three feet showing, and ol' McClure starting to look almost normal again. Saw another Basser hook a 4 pounder on a green pumpkin tube, texas-rigged in Temperance. Forget going up river...water is still 6-8 feet deep a half mile past horseshoe...
      City: Merced

Tips: I've read that crankin along the creek beds are getting fish..none for me. I still think crawdad colors are the way to go...hula grubs, brush hogs, and tubes...and once the old dam goes under...the fising should improve..plus keep drop shotting. Have patience..it will get better...

      Water Temp: 39-45

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Lots of tournaments both club and pro this weekend. The bite on Sat. was really soft. A lot of the guys came in without full bags. Won Bass winner had around 9 1/2 lbs. Sundays bite was a lot better for some and not so good for others. The top weight for Sundays Anglers Chioce tournanment was 11.80. The Main Body produced more full bags and also the Middle Fork. The South Fork was still disapointing. Jigs, dart head worms and tubes did the best over all. A few on swim baits and a few on lipless crank baits. The Lake should turn on after the rain coming in this week. It should warm the water temp. up and also provide in-flow that we don't have right now.
      City: Paradise

      Tips: Keep fishing slow

      Water Temp: 49-50

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: One of those day you wonder why you event went....?? Five foot waves in the lake, wind was howling, expecting a nice day but....at least I was fishing.
I got 8 bites and landed 5 fish all about 2-lbs each, all on a 3/4 oz brown jig with a brown grub (twin tail)and all in 25-30ft the bite was from 11:30 to 2 pm. "Last week the bite turned on at noon" I was pretty limited where i could fish, otherwise I believe I could have caught more fish.
      City: Martinez

Tips: Off shore structure was good last week in the afternoon, points in the narrows mid morning. Most of the fish on Brn/brn jig and a few on a purple ghost dart head 1/4. Line size didn't matter I was using 15 lb on the jig and 6 lb on the dart head.

New Bass Anglers Guide will be in stores the first week of March www.bassanglersguide.com

      Water Temp: 47 - 53 F

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Enjoyed a beautiful AM @ Capell Cove & caught nothing. Had one bite on spider jig & one maybe bite on dropshot. Water color looked great - nice stain & warming - but just couldn't get anything going.

Tips: Should be good soon. Could meter fish, but couldn't get them to bite.

      Water Temp: 49-51

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: The last week has been very tough. Nothing on swimbaits or even jigs. I started fishing deeper and got a few on darterhead worms and some smaller fish on dropshot. With the weather the last week I figure it would be off the hook, not!
      City: Granite Bay

Tips: for any chance of a bite, rock piles that drop into deep water.

      Water Temp: 48+

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Press release from the State Weather Department of Water Conservation and Lake Level Control Research Data Committee: It hasn't rained in a week. It's feeding on snow melt and higher elevation lakes. It'll be a slow rise until we get more rain.
      City: Rocklin

      Tips: Go catch fish.

    • By

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: It looks like they're holding the lake at 389 feet after it rose about a foot a day for the last 10days or so..I wonder if they're holding water in the above dams for Los Angeles Area?
      City: EDH

      Tips: Don't have any!!

      Water Temp: 51-53

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Tough today. Fished 10:00am-3:15pm with one tap that didn't stick around to finish it's meal. Threw black/blue jigs, spooned and drop shotted on Dry Creek and Warm Springs sides. Graphed lots of fish throughout the water column, as well as plenty of bait. Fished S.L.O.W., and still no go. Talked to a couple guys who took one 1lber all day. Hope someone did good.
      City: San Anselmo

Tips: Do the opposite of what I did, or do it somewhere else...most winters at Sonoma I find that the all around best bait is a jig n' pig fished super super slow, and I do mean pork, which I didn't use today.

Report: My lake neighbor (Joe) and I launched his boat at the Narrows resort and started trolling with cripplures and Blue Fox spinners. I got a 13 inch trout 5 minutes after we started towards the north end on a cripplelure. We trolled back and forth while we enjoyed the beautiful day and ended the day with 5 trout between us. All carbon copies of the first. The temperture was in the high 60's, t-shirt and shorts all day :-)
