Report: David naturaly the bite can start to get tough.Once the water temp hit's 54 the bass bit start's to get nitty gritty. I fish the delta weekley and i crank tully islands with deep drops or throw big plastics on same spots to find bit's. but like i said bite gets tough. good luck.

Report: Started out around 8:30 am fishing near the dam Marked several fish big and small 25-30 ft No takers tried drop shot with worm mouth tried senkos grubs around 10:30 we moved to a shallow point as we were trolling and nailed several small that thought they were huge after about 10 min of this I hooked a 3lb fat toad and then on the other side of the point another 2lb Lost her at the boat my fault went back to the dam still no takers fished windy point when the wind did come up another 2lb fish but mostly small 6-8 inch fish I caught all my fish on a single tail white grub I threw all colors and the only one that worked was the white grub water level has come up about 2 feet weather was cloudy and cold most of the day hardly any wind and only a couple of boats it would be nice to see CFW pull over the dock thye might see more customers off the water at 2pm
City: RosevilleTips: fish slow and try all colors before giving up lots of good fish to be caught catch and release so we all can enjoy the great fishing at CFW

Folsom Lake

Water Temp: 63
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: On the water at 9:20am Saturday. Drop shotted the main body but I think a lot of the metered fish are trout. Lot's of little bites on our drop shots but nothing that resembled bass. Hit the shore line and got one fish, 1-2# range, on a chartruse chatterbait about 10 feet from a rocky shore in the main body. We fished the damn and farmed one at the boat on a white chatterbait. Other than that, a pretty slow day. Beautiful weather, sunny and 60 deg with very little wind.
City: RocklinTips: Bring trout gear.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Whoa a 10.4 toad! gotta get me some beeserk jigs. Let me guess, You're either the manfacture or sell them. a picture with a date is worth a thousand words.
City: OakdaleTips: Don't use beserk jigs. If you look at them underwater they roll on there sides. how does that imitate a craw? Save your money make your own jigs, it's fairly simple

Trinity Lake

Water Temp: ?
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Just got back from Trinity Center. NO GO. Ramp is too shallow to use. Pray for rain.... As far as the fishing, I'll bet it's fantastic seeing as I can't get there.
City: WeavervilleTips: Minersville is still working, but I'd think twice before running up to TC. Half way up would be a poor place to break down.

Water Temp: 58-60
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: My partner and I decided to go for some Stripers so we hit first light and was very calm but in just a few hours the wind was howling. Ran into a friend who said he had been blown off of Franks. We pretty much fished the fished the fish trap all day producing 74 stripers up to 7 pounds with most running 4-5 lbs and 8 bass with the largest being 5.9 had three others pushing 3 pounds and a few more in the 2-2.5 lb range. I called a friend who was fishing the same water the next morning and he had caught 2 nice stripers in the 8 pound range but over all he said no birds and no fish.
City: LincolnTips: find the birds feeding and you will find the Stripers.
-
Water Temp: 55
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Super Windy + Super Cold = NOT so Super day of fishing. Got blown all over the place, so it was hard to stay in locations to fish. Just stuck with deep tule bluffs and deep outside weed edges and stuck a limit of bass...but man was it a struggle to keep the boat into position. All fish were caught on really slow presentations....t-rig, wacky, and jerkbaits were the only things that worked for me. Still fun to be out there, but man is it tough. It's only gonna get colder....good luck out there!!!
City: el cerritoTips: jerkbaits seem to be the key....the long pause with a quick twitch worked out best. caught a couple of 3# ers (LM) and some stripers with a staysee. All of the fish hit the lure right before I was about to twitch the bait. I never knew jerkbait fishing was so much fun. bundle up and keep warm!

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Thanks for the tips Jerryaki, I really appreciate them. But I think I need a bit more info than that. Im an avid bass guru in search for a quality bite and was hoping for a more exact approach to the bass location. I can catch fish pitchin tullies, flippin wood, drop shotting, crankin, top water, etc, but cant find any fish over 2 lbs. I know how to read tides, find ledges, breaks, water temp changes, etc. but the fish are just not in the areas Im fishing. What am I doing wrong????? The spring through early summer procuded several fish in the 5-8 lb range but havent seen fish even close to that size in months. Im dying inside and about ready to give up for a while. Any info would be great. Im not a tournament guy this year so dont be afraid to share some knowledge!! Thanks a bunch!!!!!

Water Temp: ?
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Was there I bit after open, the fog was so thick in Oxnard we had too slow it down. No fish, first day I ever been skunked. Did see some fish in the shallows again, three weeks straight. The ones I saw that day and caught the past weeks are similar in that they are very thick and lit up, seem so healthy. Admit I not much good with a jig, new to it, and that seems to be the ticket if you chat at the ramp. Past weeks fish were all on worms.
City: OxnardTips: Did find some very thick schools of shad at the docs and many of the fingers, several bass feeding on them. I threw everything I had but have never had much luck pulling bass out of shad schools. Relied on crank baits at other lakes, but doesn

California Delta

Water Temp: Didn't check
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: My young son and I went to the Delta Yesterday for a little striper action around noon-thrity. It was slow but we managed 5 in the 3 to 4 lb range, one at 8 lbs. which he caught by himself. And in the evening, I stuck one that ran about 25 lbs. on top water. I handed the rod to him so he could battle this very large fish. It was a great way to end the day.
Tips: Mostly on modified rattle traps and the one on a topwater bait. Big break- Sherman Island and the river just outside of Lauritzens launch ramp

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Me and my 14 year old nephew took off up to the lake for a few hours before Turkey time. I sure am glad we did as he managed to stick his biggest bass to date, a 10.4 pig!!! He caught it on a Berserk Baits jig in about 40 ft of water on the main lake. We also had a few decent spots, along with a bunch of rats. All in all it was a fun three hours.
City: AtwaterTips: All fish came frome 30-50 ft of water on 1/2 oz berserk baits jigs. The color is called Melon Craw, you can find them at Snelling 76, The bait barn, and soon at Escalon bait and tackle. Or check out the web site at www.berserkbaits.com

Quarry Lakes
-
Water Temp: cold
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Went out to Quarry last weds and got skunked. Lost one five feet from shore at my secret spot. Got three bites, hooked one, the other two were just tap and go. I fished my spot the last two hours and got hits from there only. Some people were there when I got there so we fished the peninsula. Way too shallow. Baits used were worms and powerbait. All bites came on worms.
City: FremontTips: Long leader, and find a good drop off. The fish are deep, really deep. Try an inflated worm or some powerbait on a small treble hook. The smaller the better, just barely cover the hook. Don't fish peninsula, trust me way too shallow and a long walk. Try right across from it, saw people catch some trout. Also cast far, try different lengths to see where the fish are. The leader length that got me the bites was about 15 inches or so. Fish early and late.

Berryessa Lake
-
Water Temp: 56-59
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished from dawn to 4:15 pm. Caught 30 fish for three people to 2lbs. Very cold this morning. it hurt my fingers. I think the fish felt the same way and we did not boat our first fish until 8:30am. Could not find bait any where in the main lake so we found areas with 5 to6 fish on the meter and fished slowly to pick up two fish. Used all plastics. No reaction bite. I don't think the lake has turned over yet.
City: San BrunoTips: find any area that hold fish and fish slowly even dead stick.

California Delta
-
Water Temp: 57 degrees
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Tip for David! Buy yourself: Gamakatsu 3/0 or 4/0(whatever you prefer) EWG Offset Worm Hook, 2 or 3 pkgs of Yamamoto 5" Senko Worms, 20# quality mono or a 30# braid, and a quality 6 1/2 to 7' med to med-heavy graphite fishing pole (Powell's my favorite fishing rod now. It used to be G.Loomis) Then go out to the Delta and fish structure (Tules, wood, or anything that is different than the ordinary) slowly. Fish that bait weightless and watch your line for any line movement. If it hits the bottom lift your rod tip up to move your bait a foot or so. Then re-cast after you don't get any hits.
City: SacramentoTips: Take your time fishing especially now that winter is getting close. Oh! I forgot to mention that if you see any line movement. Reel down the excess line and when you feel your rod load up, then haul back. And hold on!
