      Water Temp: idk

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: water is very clear. bite has slown down. water is low(dropped 2-4 feet). fish are jumping but not on senkos, spooks, buzzbaits...caught 1 on a thomas boynton spoon when i was fishing for crappie. crappie is always pretty good over there and the size is not to bad.

im only fishing yorty creek so probably a better spot would be the mainlake with a bass boat
      City: santa rosa

Tips: fish crappie if you dont have a boat.

      Water Temp: 70 ish

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Only two fish cought on the (non-swimming) beach. One 1/2 pounder and one 2 1/2 pounder. only spent a quick hour on the lake from 6:30-7:30. Both on senkos dark green. Had a hella of alot of bite, but they didnt want to smack the bait. I had nibbles and wait a good 10 sec to make sure he was on there! Funny and fustraiting at the same time!
      City: San Jose

Tips: Senkos.. darker colors about 10-15 feet out from the bank.!

      Water Temp: 72-73

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: after a few weeks of deep water lake fishing, and not catching many fish worth braggin' about, finally brought my boat back to the delta. it was unreal the amount of quality bass that hit my lure, especially after battling the 80+ bass boats on the water. finally got my first 20+ lbs bag of fish, (easy for most of you here, but has been a challenge for me). Got a real nice crank pattern going near franks, and instead of burning down the bank, I stayed on fishing spots a lot longer, and plugged away as the tide was falling. picked up on a really great pattern where I would pull out a fish with crank, then stay in the same area with a weightless fluke. the fluke would was a great follow up bait and helped put the bigger bass in the boat. I noticed that each time my crank would hit the water, little shad or minnows would fly out of the water. So that's what gave me the idea to toss a fluke. 20+ fish pulled into the boat, best five going over 20lbs (only had my bogo grips to give me an approx weight)
      City: el cerrito

Tips: stick to isolated tullie clumps and just watch the water for a bass ambushing the lure. too much fun!!

      Water Temp: Nice

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Sounds like big daddy doesn't have any class. I saw those two guys fish and they were very helpful to me on how they did it. Great guys. Me and Sam my partnet only had twelve pounds today. Keep your chin up and keep stroking the big ones.
      City: Davis

Tips: We tried top early, cranks and spinnerbaits but caught our fish on drop shot. Franks was our area for today.

      Water Temp: 76-80

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: As some have mentioned, the bite has slowed a bit and I feel that the bass are moving, possibly because of slowly dropping water level. Wed night a husband/wife team did ok - she caught 3 before dark and he and I caught a few too. i got another on a #128 ripbait. After dark the bite was good after the first hour and for the next 2 or 3 hours and then slowed. I landed a 5 1/2 on a jig near Frasier Point and he lost his big bass a little while later in Honeymoon Cove. I had him throwing a Yamamoto Kreature bait which he threw very shallow and got nailed! She jumped and that was it - maybe 4 1-2 to 6 lbs. Darn! They missed a lot of bass that just wern't taking the baits very well. We did end up with some nice bass however for over 21 lbs for the 5 biggest. Friday was the same story, but for a different reason. I had two nice guys wanting to learn the lake better. They learned a lot about the south end (out of Red Bud) and I HOPE something about equipment. One of the fellows brought two or three trout rods - one was a step above a "Snoopy" rod!! Needless to say we had mid-air releases one after the other! With my G. Loomis rods - I didn't do much better! I lost two good ones and they did too. The bite was good however on black/blue jigs and Kreature baits, along with junebug worms. #301 Senkos caught their share. We didn't land any quality bass but caught quite a few. They promised me they will be looking at some bass rod catalogs soon!!!!!!
      City: Yuba City

Tips: The water is finally getting some color - even in the south end. This is about 2 months late. The all day and all night bite seems to be changing to the more typcial summer bite - early, late, and 1 to 4 hours after dark. I think we are all having an interesting year trying to figure everything out. I think I noticed that most of the tournament boats that came south on Friday in the morning did not return in the afternoon. Maybe the bite up north was better.

Report: Nice try buddy. I don't think anybody will be giving you any fishing information until next week. There are tournaments on Saturday. You will just have to get out there and fish to find out what is happening in Franks.

Report: Hey blue daddy ranger, I really enjoy your postings and feel that you have good knowledge out on the water. I have a question for you. I fish mostly on the south side of the delta up to about fourteen mile. I have no knowledge of franks and was hoping to get out all day tommorrow to give it a try. where do I start and what type of water to I look for? It sounds like you throw your wake bait a lot which I do not. And it also seems like you tend to stay near visible structure like tullies and weed mats. I know that many people fish in the middle of franks but its all so overwhelming. Any info would help. thanks a bunch.

Report: Fished the south end of the lake Thursday from 5:30 am till 12:00 pm. Caught 20 plus bass up to five pounds. The bite and size had slowed down from last week. Caught well over 40 fish with five fish around five pounds last week. The larger fish this week came on flukes around shallow weed beds. Sure is fun seeing those large fish shoot out of the weeds to take the fluke. Most of the other fish came shallow on a dropshot rig with MM III Robo worms. Last week I caught most of the fish at the deep end of docks. They didn't seem to be there this week. Clear Lake is a great bass fishery. It's rough when 20 fish a day feels like a let down.
      City: Rancho Cordova

Tips: Keep moving till you find the fish. They seem to be moving around. Also, the water level is dropping so watch for shallow rocks.

Report: Started at about 8pm. Seemed like lots of boats on the water. Tried jigs, spinnerbaits, swimbaits, worms, cranks, the whole box. One fish about 3 lbs and one about the same that came unbuttoned. Fished til midnight. Worst fihing ever for this lake.

Tips: Wish I had some. LOL

      Water Temp: 73-76

Report: I took a couple of guys out today that wanted to learn how to catch bass. As in the past mornings, we started with top water pop-r's. The bass were all over them up to 16+ inches. We also used flukes and spooks all producing bass. As I was showing them how to use a spook, believe it or not, a 10# squaw fish slamed it right at the boat. What a suprise. We then started fishing with tubes on the banks and they caught one after another. Over 80 bass in a half day, the guys were pretty excited. We had about 10 bass over 15 inches and 2 over 16 inches with several double hook ups.
      City: Paradise

Tips: Any shad color pop-r's,spooks or flukes are working well in the morning. The tube that produced the best this monring was the clear sparkle gitzit.

      Water Temp: Unknown

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Started out pretty early fishing from, around 8am. began with flipping a tube to some surface cover with no success. Saw 4 good sized bass go swimming by in front of me and cast my tube about 10 feet in front of them, got a nibble but the fish didn't want it that bad and spit it out. Moved down the lake and found a submerged log about 6 feet offshore, roughly 3 to 4 feet deep. Cast a 8" BPS Squirmin' Worm (Watermelon Red), rigged weightless & weedless to the side opposite of where I was and as it was floating down a bass came out of hiding and inhaled it. Landed the fish, probably about a pound, maybe a pound and a half. No action the rest of the day.

Report: Fun fishin with the wife today. About 10:30 get a nice jig bite around Franks. Turned out to be a nice 8.8 lbs. Moto mike has a bad back so I went with the wife. Bet he wishes he was there. It would have been a dollar fish for sure. Lots of different color jig worked but the depth was the key today. 15 foot.

Tips: You need good current and depth. Slow down and throw that wadda jig.

Report: Launched out of B&W and headed for Franks. Really windy started fishing new water around franks. Noticed that the water temps have dropped to near 70 degrees, I wonder if they're dumping water in the river for the salmon run? Caught a nice 8lb 8oz girl on a lipless crank but the others were all small around 2 lbs. Best 5 may have gone 16lbs. My buddy Paul also caught a nice 7 or 8lb stripper on a lipless. Posted pics of the 8lb 8oz but she is really thin and wonder why she is so kinny. She should weigh closer 10lbs by now.

Tips: Fish new water and enjoy the day with friends

      Water Temp: 72-74

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Got another late start out Russo's,, bout 8:30 after BS'ing with the boys at the dock.. Tide was low a falling, no wind, water has cleared up a lot. Hit some docks in Piper with only a few little guys. Moved out to the track and saw a few followers and had a couple short strikes on the swimbait, but nothing impressive and only a couple in the boat. About 1030 the tide had bottomed and just started moving in,, now there was a slight breeze. Pulled up on a tule island and figured I'd give the drop shot (MMIII) a go.. bam, first one goes 6-7. I put her in the tank hoping to get another goodn' quick for a group photo,, 1/2 hr goes by and I get a couple rats and a 3,, then I stick another big dog off some wood,, she goes 7-10. I'm ready to head in cuz I don't want em in the tank any longer than neccessary. As I make my way around to the last unfished area I see some matted weeds and pick up the 797 magnum grass rod w an 1.5oz penatrator and a CA420 beaver.. Into the mat I flip and THUNK! She explodes on the hookset destroying the mat. I hadn't seen her yet but she felt big. Finally get a look and there's no way I'm gonna swing this one in..Reach out for the lip and she goes 9-1. I head back to Russo's for the flick and let em go back out in the track. Decide to give the Wake Jr. another try. The fish were repositioning with the incoming tide. Two hours later I finally found a few out in the current off a small island, stick a 3-11, 3-12, 3-15 and a 6-0 and that was pretty much it for the rest of the day. Best five went 33lbs1oz

Tips: How is is that wednesday fish instinctively know not to bite on sat or sun????? If I could ever figure that mystery out....
