      Water Temp: 76.4-76.8

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Started out around 7ish, near the dam on points right of dam. Had two good hits on a jig but nothing else, worked the wall all the way down to little cachuma, with only a few to keep, several dinks, 3 good ones on a drop shot. Ran to the island and caught nothing near or across from there. Ran into Big Cachuma and caught on on a jig in 20-2 feet. Stopped once I was across from the floating Jon. No other fish. Wind up and lots of waves.
Gave my batteries a good checkout as I just installed the second trolling battery yesterday. No discernable loss of power even though it was on max for most of the day into the wind.

Left around 1300. Not a bad day.
      City: Lompoc

Tips: color didn't seem to matter today...just slow presentation

Report: First trip to the lake. Went out with my brother and my cousin to catch some largemouth. Fished about 5 hours. We worked our way up the right side of the lake(from the marina), casting the banks. First bass was caught around 2:00pm (non-keeper)on a booyah spinnerbait near a drop-off by some cat tails. At 3:30pm, I reeled in a 20" bass off a senko in a cove. Shortly after, I hooked a different lunker in the same cove but lost the sucker on my 6 lb test.

It was an overall great day of fishing, though windy and misty.
Chabot is a great-looking lake with minimal boat activity, good structure, and one extremely rude employee in the tackle shop! It's the best lake i've fished in the bay area so far...
      City: San Francisco, CA

Tips: Slow Retrieve, light line, multiple casts, & patience of course.
      Slow down ya'll, it's summertime!

The john-boats for rental are loud, I find this lake very "bank-fishing-friendly"!

      Water Temp: 78

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Well, I got to the lake at 3:00 for a Sunday afternoon session and it was SUPER windy. Fished up the narrows first thing but got absolutely nothing. Then moved to the eastern coves and proceeded to get 9 (honestly 1 pounders at best). Overall, it was a tough day, but I'm happy with 9, especially considering the hot and windy conditions.
      City: Moorpark

Tips: Fish slow-moving baits... At least for me, the reaction bite was non-existent. And whenever possible, fish rocky/shaded spots. That's where I had the most luck yesterday.

Report: Took out my girlfrined, her friend, and boyfrined on Sat. Got a late start about 8 AM. Caught a rat on the first cast of the day. Had everyone dropshoting all day and stuck 11 or so. I did catch one reaction fish on a chater bait. Would have caught alot more had I been able to concentrate on fishing, but had fun trying to teach others.

      Water Temp: 80-83

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Water still very clear, spoke to a guy who had 26 lbs on frogs up at near Niec but it died after 9:30 am, I think the water is still to clear for an all day frog bite. I brought my 3 year old twins with me for the first time together and they did very well but we mostly swam, I fished about 4 hrs on Sat and 4 hrs on Sun. I fished Senkos, Sweet beavers & trick worms for 14 fish to 3 lbs, had a 4 come off on Sat:( On Sunday had around 7 fish to 3lbs but again we were mostly having fun in the sun.
      City: San Jose

Tips: Bubba shot Sweet Beavers in front of tullies, Senkos under deep docks and you can always catch a ton of rats with 6 inch watermellon trick worms drop shottin. Find bait and toss out the drop shot and don't move it for 20-30 seconds and when you feel for weight there usually a 1 lber on it.
I fished the south end on Sat and North end on Sun.

Report: Went camping with my lady and boated into skunk creek. Campsites were awesome, but the the people surrounding you can be complete idiots. Anyways, as for the fishing, tried the late bite on Saturday...didn't get anything with exception of a small trout going after my crank bait. Sunday morning was not much better, missed one on a spook and only a couple bites on senkos. broke for lunch and a swim and got back to fishing by 4 pm. Already frustrated with this lake and how I was unable to catch anything, consulted a map, and headed back down to the main lake and started fishing the dam. Tied on a deep diving crank and just drove it as hard as possible. After 4 casts, caught my first keeper LM, 5 min later, hooked into a keeper smallie (felt alot bigger than what actually came out). 10 more minutes, hooked into another fat bellied LM (spat out a shad) so I guess I caught these fish while in their feeding frenzy. Few more minutes later, hooked into my biggest fish 2.5 lbs smallie. All in all, those 4 fish made my day and entire camping trip for that matter all worth it. Landed only 7 fish for the weekend, but boy where those the most satisfying 7 fish I've ever caught. Summer Time lake fishing is very humbling especially if the lake is brand new to you. Being a Delta Rat my self, struggling to catch fish made me realize how spoiled i was. Now I know i'm not as versatile as I thought, so I have a lot more to strive for in my fishing endeavors.
      City: el cerrito

Tips: Fish extended rocky points and just wait for a smallie to nail your bait.

Report: Got a late start launching at Russo's bout 8:30 w high water. Tossed a big worm around some docks and picked up two close to 4 each and two little guys. Then went out in search for a big swimbait fish that didn't happen. Saw lot's of 3-4lb followers but none would eat. For some unknown reason I reached for my spin rod w 10lb Seagaur and a drop shot Robo. Tossed back behind the sparse tules into the thick stuff, about 2 ft of water, and get a tick. I set, she feels alright, then my drag starts to zzzzzzing. I'm thinking I'm about to get worked over on this sissy rod by something probably not much more than 3 or 4 lbs... Then I get a look at her and she's a toad, wrapped up in tules, I give a little and she comes out on her own,,, lucky me,, she goes 8lbs8oz.. I poke around a little more and pick up a bunch of rats and another I guessed bout 3 3/4 on the drop shot. I don't want to keep her in the tank for too long so I head back to Russo's to get a flick and release her. I pull out on the minnkota and start tossin the Wake jr. around the docks,,, Kawoosh.. it's big and it's wrapped around a pilling.. Get her in the boat,, another 8lbs8oz even..a much longer fish w a big head just nothing in the middle to fill her out. No doubt a recent transplant. Toss the drop shot around the docks and get another 3 1/2... Head back out to the track looking for a big swimbait fish again and got just a few little ones,, shoulda stuck w the drop shot... Best five about 28lbs

Tips: Watch out for snakes trying to swim out and climb into your boat! Lodge closes 6 pm most nights so arrive early! Only a couple of lights were turned on in parking lot so park in south parking lot if you want your vehicle parked in the light - not too cool. Blades. Fish during daylight.

Report: The Thusdday night tournament this week drew about 12 boats. Blast off was at 5:15pm and over at 8:45pm. The bite consisted of shacky head worms,Texas riged worms, crank baits, tubes, jigs, and top water. The winning bass was 17+ inches. Most of our bass came on crank baits with one bass near 3# spliting my spinner bait in half on an awesome leap air borne. The most exciting moments last night came from a point on the North Fork when we started throwing spooks. In a period of 10 to 15 minutes we hooked 6 bass and missed another 6 blow ups. The two largest being 16-1/4" spot and a 16" large mouth.
      City: Paradise

Tips: We keyed on mud lines and rocky walls and points for top water. Most of the crank baits were shad colores and with chartreuse and the spooks were white and blue and shad color. The bite was shallow from 1ft. to 15ft. The top water bite was just inches from the bank to 15 feet out.

      Water Temp: 82 to 84.4

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: This lake is droping a foot a day on its way down to 11,000 acre feet. Bass are supending off of rock piles points and in trees and over brush piles. Alot of smallier bass right now are being caught 12 to 16 inch fish are all over the lake right now in 3 to 16 feet of water. The larger bass are still been caught but not in the numbers they were like a few weeks ago. Night fishing to beat the heat is the way to go now. Senkos, jigs, brushogs, spinnerbaits and crankbaits are all working right now.
      City: kerman ca

Tips: Early morning or late evening after 4:00 pm the bite at both ends are fair still good bass to be caught. I would stick with a jig as you can cover alot of water and fish them very slow and swith from double tail grubs to a single tail 5" grub swimming these baits are deadly right now on any lake. 1/4 or 3/8 oz bullet head jig works very good any watermelon or pumpkin green greenflake works good right now.

Report: Went out at 7, started on a rockpile at the mouth of the south fork, chartreuse/purple crankbait, second cast, a 2 1/2 # LM, moved up river to old bridge area and pulled a 3# spot from the bank to the right of Jacks Shack. Nothing form the bridge. Another 2# spot from the point where all the ruins are. I pulled a lot of fish out wind blown points and banks. All of em on a dartheaded 4 1/2" Robo Fatworm (Prizm Shad) Best five around 12 #. The whole south fork is a 5 mph zone!!! Awesome.
      City: Folsom

Tips: Use your electronics, off shore structure next to deep water, banks or points w/ drop offs, and as always Boulders. Also, look for cooler water 1/2 degree made all the diference for me. Don't forget the sunscreen.
