Report: Played hooky Friday the 13th and was happy that I did. Actually got there on Thursday night and picked up a few until I went to sleep at 11:00. Down on the south end of the lake, I couldn't find any fish that really wanted to bite after dark. (Black spinner bait, crankbait, and jigs) Caught 12 before dark up to 4 1/2 lbs. Started fishing on Friday at 3:30am and still couldn't catch any night fish. The bite came on just after daylight with a couple of top water fish. Started throwing a 6" senko in the watermelon color and caught a 7.2, 4.12, and a couple of 4's. Caught around 20 on the senko. I then started drop shotting the deep water docks along HWY 20 and caught numberous 1 to 3 lbers. Fished a point that went out into 30 feet of water and caught 6.0 on a MMIII drop shot rig. Ended the day with between 30 and 40 fish with the best 5 going just under 26lbs. (My personal best for 5) Had a great day but fighting the wind was a constant battle. I only fished until 3:30 on Friday. Probably could have been a 60 fish day if I had chosed to stay later.
      City: Redding

Tips: Caught a couple of reaction fish on a crank bait and a jerk bait (samller fish). Most of my action was on plastics and all of the big fish came on them. Don't be afraid to throw the bigger Senkos as the little ones and the big ones will eat them.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: We fished the Thursday nite tournament out of Lime Saddle and congratulations to Jimmy and his dad. That was an awsome fish. Guess we would have been 3rd best with a 17 and a half. We fished north as well but with not as much luck. Our best fish came late using a Bass Patrol jig in brown/purple and matching trailer. And we agree, darker colors are working best in off color water.
      City: Paradise

Tips: Besides the jig we caught some on a home made senko in black with blue flake and hula grubs. Fish were right on the bank. A gentleman we met in the parking lot said he caught 21 with 3 over fishing all day in the sun, so if you can stand it you can probably get bit most anywhere. Rocks near the bank are starting to show now so be aware.

Report: got on the water at day light, hit a point just out of the 5mph area and took a 4+ smallie on top water. Fished the main lake with small plastics, ended up with about a 14 pound limit. All but one fish were on small plastics
      City: rio vista

Tips: get your fish early, work them slow and use everything small

Report: Started out about 7am with a new guy. Clr skies and light wind. Went towards dam and threw senko. A few fish with best 3.5 lbs. Pattern that worked for me was throwing to rock shores. Didn't see many fish on cliffs or flats but a couple on drop shot. He ended up with about 7 fish and had maybe 10-12. Really think braid . with fluoro leader and circle hook is the way to go on this technique. Quit about noon. Wind not a problem (or smoke).

Report: Well took the day off from work to take my dad out for some fishing. The grand master of plastics . My dad taught me since i was a wee bit big how to fish plastics on lake berryessa,we used to walk the north end of the lake when we were kids and my dad used to fish plastic worms, a blue andpurpleworm texas style. How fishing has come a long way since then I found my dad still sticking to the ol school way . Believe it or not he had the hot hand he baged some nice fish . He never fished the delta, his first time,he told me that he liked it and it was very exciting cause you never know what was hitting his worm a big one or a small one and he said he wanted to go again. He could not believe how much area there was to fish and how good it looked . My dad is74years old just to hear him say those things made my day . unlike me my dad kept all his fish and took them home to cook them and share them with my mom . man how some things never change all in all my father had a great day and so did I . im hoping for more days like today , so tight lines to you all on the watergoing to go out sat and hope the wind dies down a bit so i can get some fishing in...plastic man 1

Tips: somr times basic and old school ways work . all this sophisticated shit needs to be put on the shelf. keep it simple and basic realize it is still the same as it was years ago

      Water Temp: Hot 80&

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Fished from about 7PM till 1AM Had great hits on jigs and crankbaits early evening. Once the sun set I went to black blades and black/red rattle jigs. The bite was great boated about 20 fish some in the 5+ but most in the 11/2 to 3 pound range. No big fish to talk about this time. I had not been on the lake for about 5 weeks Man is it dropping. I guess in about 2 months we will just dip them out with nets. I just hope we don't loose fish to the low water. This is one of the best bass lakes in the state. I know because I have been fishing a lot of the other lakes and I still think this is the best.
      City: Fresno

Tips: Fish the rock piles and tree lines deep 5' to 10'days and at night they move up to feed so punch the coves and up wind side on the banks.
The fish will be on the up wind side when it's blowing and the shade side on the rocks and trees when the sun's out. If there is a lot of boats fish the INSIDE of the rocks as they will use them as wave breaks. There now go have a blast and please put them back in the water where you catch them so someone like me can catch them again.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Early start, twoo bites on six inch swimbait, no hook up. Fished south fork from mouth to bridge, saw two bass boats all morning. Got two on a jig but then started throwing white chatterbait. Very sduccessful as bas were shallow and wante dthe bait very bad. lost count on numbers, about fifteen pounds.
      City: Davis

Tips: Chatterbait had to be up tight, slow retrieve on points and ambush areas with wind. You had to have the wind blowing in. Best spots were near deep wtaer. Point rod to retrieve for best hookups.

      Water Temp: 73+ to 78+

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: I had been out of town for about two weeks and was amazed to see the water level down almost 15 feet. We started out from Lime Saddle around 7 am. to see bass slamming minows at the surface. We stared throwing spooks and catching bass right away. We then moved to the North Fork thowing every thing from tubes, drop shot, spooks, rattle traps, spinner baits and senkos. By 1:30 we had over 80 bass with around 12 over. Largest of the day at 17 1/2 inches came on a spook.
      City: Paradise

Tips: Look for active minows and throw topwater or senkos at them. Start at the bank with blades and crank baits and work into deeper water with tubes and drop shots then drag jigs on the bottom. Look for shade and mud lines.

      Water Temp: Low 70s

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished the East Cove from my tube today from around 1:30 to 6:30pm. Caught about 10 fish, most of them were dinks with the exception of two that probably went about 1.5 lbs each. In past weeks I did pretty well throwing Texas-rigged Sweet Beavers around the weed edges, but today the fish came on the drop-shot. 10-15 feet of water held the fish. I'm suprised at how warm the water is, the fish seemed pretty active today. I had about an 8-10 pound bass follow one of the dinks to the tube. The big one hit the dink a few times and splashed around a bit. This was the first time I've had this happen but have heard about it happening. Maybe a swimbait might not have been a bad idea.
