      Water Temp: 75

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished the Thursday nite tournament out of Lime Saddle with just a handfull of boats showing up. Probably because of the holiday and of course the heat. Fished all the shade we could find and caught good fish dart heading a pearl/blue worm I make and flukes in pearl white. There was a jig bite late. My son caught the winner on the worm (17"). Promised the girls at work I'd buy lunch if we won and I'll honor that today.
      City: Paradise

Tips: Find the shade and you will find the fish and its a lot cooler as well. If your fishing still water put some action on the bait and they'll climb right on. Come on out on Thursdays, its a lot of fun.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Decided to try Amador as I have never fished it and they allow NO watersking or wakeboarding. which I thought was a good plan on the 4th of July. Should of just gone to the delta and put up with the boat traffic. Small, muddy lake. Plus they charge for car, boat, and per person fishing. Total for three of us $41. Got on the water at 7:15 and started trying to figure out the bass. Black worms worked the best for us. No top water. we only had 8 bass and I got a 14# catfish that hit a plastic. Biggest bass was 4.5#s. Talked to the other boats on the lake and they were hving similar results, except one guy that said he had 30 bass mostly early in the morning and only on Chatterbaits.
      City: brisbane

Tips: If you go start early or fish at night.

      Water Temp: 80-82

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Hot! Hot!. Get on the water early. The North Gate is open at 5:30am, just use the envelope to pay.
We started out in the main body again with to water, crank baits. Then went to jigging with brown purple, green pumpkin.
The water has dropped 2-3 ft but the bass were still there. Most of the morning fish came in 5-10 ft, when the sun came out we move off the bank into 20-35 ft.
Watch for the bass to pick up your bait and run right to you.
      City: Rocklin

Tips: Fish early and get out of the Hot sun.

Report: Started out at the spillway around 5am waited till safe light and moved up the south fork started out with a white flake hula grub nailed two right off kept moving up the bank nothing we moved up the fork to hit some points every time we stoped we got atleast two all spots around 1.5# Moved up to some mud lines nailed a couple more Moved to the north side and nailed a few more changed to a pumkin hula grub and nailed a biggen that had alot of fight I thought I was snagged untill she let up just enough for me feel the tug then it was on the best fight I had in a long time and I boated a 3.5# spot fat and spitting craw dads after 10 am or so we hit some shaded areas and hit some again then off to the bridge pilings also hit a few
All in all just about every where we stopped we hit atleast two all but 3 were in the slot so a good day with keepers all were released
      City: Rosevile

Tips: I used white with flake hula grub on a 3/8 oz football head jig, pumkin and a black with red flake hula grubs all produced fish let it drop to the bottom and slowly retrieve it stopping every so often shaded areas and stumps all produced fish Dont stay in one spot long catch one or two and to the next stop it worked for me today Happy fishing

      Water Temp: 68+

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Walked the Cistern shore line and saw plenty of Bass. Drop shot with the Ol' Ox blood red flake again and caught 2 Large Mouths and 1 smallie. All around the 1.5 lb. class. Bigger Bass where moving along the shore, but were not interested in the worms. Tried a Texas rigged power craw and got followers but again no takers. I only fished for 2.5 hours so I'll take and release the 3 fish, just wish they were a bit bigger.
      City: Santa Ynez

Tips: If you are set on catching Bass from shore, drop shot a ox blood red flake roboworm. The fish seem to like this better then anything else from the shore. Wacky rigged or Texas rigged senko's are the second choice.
After talking with a few campers and some locals the trout are still biting on e-point on green and rainbow power bait, but the fish are smallish and the bite is nothing like it was in March and April. Don't waste you money on worms as of now, cause the fish are not even looking at them.

      Water Temp: 72-75

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I was supposed to provide a repeat trip for my last Saturday trip but one of them couldn't make it so the other client and I tested Clear Lake on a Monday after a busy weekend! Did all the boat traffic slow the bite? - not a chance, though the early morning was still cool and the bite started slowly. Yes, Sat and Mon, very few if any carp rolling at first light both days. I knew some of you would be wondering!! The ones still spawning in the keys were sure creating a frenzy - boiling everywhere! He wanted to frog fish in the keys first so we started there and actually caught a few. He was using the yellow/black and I was using the green, Snagproof frogs. I got a 4 and a 2 3/4 while I was trying to slow down his retrieve of the frog. Finally, he first blowup and a good one! The 6 to 7 pounder made it all the way to the boat before coming off just as I was about to net it. Darn! Now he knows what a thrill frog blowups are!! Out in the main lake the bite just got better as the day went on. Great jig bite! I know many of you are using black/blue jigs with great success - I just wanted to see if the brown/orange-180 Yami grub "Hemphill Special" would hold up. I think it did with lots of bass to 5 lbs 6 oz. The worm bite was good as always and green pumpkin is still our favorite. Early afternoon bite was awesome - most of our quality bass taken then on 20 to 30 foot ledges. Best five only 21+ lbs however. My client who did so well on Sat struggled yesterday, losing several nice bass. I took a break - had dinner - and went out again myself to survey the evening/night bite. I caught 14 or 15 of the released bass around the Konocti Resort bass and then fished other areas after dark and lost count after 25 or so bass. I didn't get anything big but lots of 4's and 5's with a limit over 23 lbs. The 10" Power worm was working it's usual magic and they still love brush hogs. Lots of Smelly Jelly! I left my house at 4 am and hit the sack at 4 am this morning! Guess that trip will last me for 2 or 3 days!!!
      City: Yuba City

Tips: Wind, wind, wind! We are enjoying the cooler summer in Yuba City, but there is a price to pay if you love to fish Clear Lake. That lake area is the fan on nature's air conditioner. As the temp reaches the 100's for the next few days, the lake air conditioner should be shut off and you can fish where you want. A few nice bass are being caught, but overall, the size may be declining a bit which is normal when summer finally arrives. If the water warm up quickly, bass will probably re-position themselves a bit and may be a bit deeper than what you have been used to - especially from noon 'til dark. The early morning bite should become excellent again as this is the coolest and quietest time of day. However - the hotter the weather (water temp too!) the happier the bass are at Clear Lake - just like the "contented California cows make good cheese" commercial! (Not sure why I said that!)

      Water Temp: Usually about 7

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: THIS IS A REPORT FOR LAKE NATOMA!!!!! This report can be applied to just about every summer down on this little gem of a lake. Just so you know, don't expect more than 4-6 bites in a day. The bites you do get will be from GOOD fish though.

Cranked, bladed, ripped, but ended up getting the most bites on a dropshot. I missed several bites as did Brian, but he did stick a 4.7 lb. "mule" Smally that had 3 or 4 other fish with her that were as big or bigger. Stayed around that area for a while, but moved around to find the water high, but not moving much. When that happens at Natoma, it is like slack tide on the Delta, NO BITES!!

Tips: Just move from tree to tree and find the fish. Every piece of wood had a fish in or on it. Dropshot or darthead the usual plastics.

      Water Temp: 78-81

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished from 7pm to 2am. Started at Cotton, and ended up fishing the wall around the west side of the dam. Between my partner and I, we caught about 25 fish, the biggest a 7lb Black, caught by Bob Mocci, and a 5lb black. Our five fish total would have been about 17-18lbs. Started off throwing blades (Silver/Red), and switched to Berkley Midnight Fire Power Worms at night. Also caught a few on topwater.
      City: Merced, CA

Tips: Rocky points, piles and shelves, edges of coves are good as well. go into coves with the wind. Saw a 10lb caught around the island in front of the dam. Fishing is good, especially for the heat.

Tips: Had the best luck fishing ledges near deeper water.

      Water Temp: 76-80 F

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Launched out of Markley around 5:30 am fished til 3:00 pm was tired from the day before at Oroville and it was hot. Started off in the north side of the lake with a jig that was producing the day before with very little luck. My partner threw his kalins grub and was nailing them. So I switched to the good old drop shot with my favorite robo worm color and started to catch alot of fish. We moved around alot fished Putah creek a little past the 5 mph and caught quite a few in there no size though. Moved over to Portugese cove and it was on fire. I never caught so many LM at this lake I mainly catch SM and spots. We ended up with about 50 fish biggest one was a nice 5lb LM that couldnt resist my robo worm.
      City: Roseville

Tips: Keep switching it up I tried everything, topwater in the morning. I was also throwing my new huddleston shad with no luck. jig with very little action. The drop shot seemed to be the ticket today. I caught most of my fish in the inside bend on all points leading into coves if there was a mud line it seemed to be better.

      Water Temp: 75-77

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Hit up Casitas on monday - only about 10 boats on the whole lake. We caught fish all day but nothing big. 34 fish total for the day with 90% at 2-3lbs. Good topwater bite in the AM and wide open on cranks like DD-14's all day long. Stuck it out untill about 6:30PM

Report: This lake is still producing bass to 4 pounds top water and jigs and crankbait seen to be catching most of the bass. There been a few bass caught in the 7 and 8 pound range but most bass are 12 inches to 4 pounds. Traffic is light on weekdays but heavy on the weekends the lake is droping about 5 feet a week. Early morning bites been good and the late evening bite also. Lake is on it way down to 10,000 arce feet min pool. 559-689-3255
      City: kerman ca

Tips: Again trees drop off rock piles and under water humps these places will hold bass as the lake drops. big structure is starting the show now.
