      Water Temp: 75

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Got the boat in the water around 5:30am on Wednesday with a few buddies. It was the first time fishing Clear Lake for two out of the three of us and we had a blast. From what I hear, we had a slow day for Clear Lake standards and still boated 40 fish by 1:30pm. Lots of 1's and 2's with an occasional 3 in there. Texas rigged brush hogs and sinko's, drop shotting worms, brown jigs, etc.... They bit everything we tried with the exception of a spinner bait thrown a dozen times (I was told the hard stuff turns on in the fall). Fished the rocks mainly and had success on the underwater foliage up shallow. Most fish were 2-10 feet deep.
      City: Rocklin

Tips: Don't try to take a leak if you have a line in the water, you might try to set the hook with the wrong rod!

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I mostly fished the lower Squaw arm during a 5-day trip. Rocky points produced several 2-3 lb spotties and smallies. I caught a couple off Panther Martin Vivif minnow lures, but most were caught off crickets. Fishing success was intermittent, however, and I strongly suggest having a fish and depth finder to get into the good spots. We also went to the Blue Canyon inlet of the Pit Arm, which was loaded with immature bass, so the fishing wasn't good there.

What happened to the catfish in the lake? I didn't catch a single one during this trip. I saw large fish at depths of 60-80 feet on the finder, but couldn't latch onto a single one.

Report: After reading the earlier reports on the lunker punker Jr. swimbait. I purchased one before my trip to Shasta. Launched at first light and the first ten casts I landed 3 fish. One was a 4.8lb spot my biggest so far. I had numerous fish along with big blowups until the sun came up. Awesome bait.

      Water Temp: ~65-70

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I got out on the lake at about 7 with another guy and fished until 1:30. We were surprised at how stained the water was. Started fishing a rattle trap initially and got 3 fish in about an hour on isolated weed beds toward the middle of the lake. As the sun came up I fished a senko on the edge of the tules and caught a couple more keepers. The gentleman I was with also had luck flipping a senko into cover.
      City: Santa Rosa

Tips: It seemed like the bite shut off by early afternoon, so get out there as early as possible.

      Water Temp: 81-84

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Well it's nice to be back to the old stompin grounds of my younger days. A nice day on the lake. Air temps in low to mid 90's and water temps about 10 deg less. Got out to the lake around 10:00, fished till about 2:30 (got a nice tan!!!) The big surprise was the crankbait, catchin fish. Nothing better than some small keepers, but a nice alternative to silly little finesse baits. Started up in shallow of the "tree cove" up Bear River Arm, a quick fish (LMB) cranked off a tree (Bandit 200 series)in about 5 ft of water. Went up Bear Arm further, had a nice pop on a drop shot Berkley Minnow, but it just wouldn't commit, maybe a nice spotted bass?! Shot to Rock Creek Arm(?) east of North Shore Boat Launch, tied into a few white crappies (Bandit 200 series cranks) my pops hit a small keeper largemouth in the same general area. i tied into another small keeper but he flipped me. Took the cranks to the long finger (sometimes island) in the South middle part of the lake cranked some more with some swipes but no one would really commit (probably some more fiesty Spots). A few rude wakeboard boats flying up and down Bear River Arm but all in all I nice day out at CFW.
      City: Lincoln

Tips: Tired of shakey heads, darter heads and finesse worms?! Toss the cranks in 5-10 ft of water. Bandit 200's run about 6-8 ft, so maybe a little deeper might do the trick for some bigger fish. Drop shot the complex rocky areas, near deepwater (had a nice hit and some other hits later up Bear River Arm, it was a little cooler up there). Most importantly, don't rule out the shallows during the summer, you may not have the big fish up there, but there are keepers in the brush/trees.

Report: It is completely Awsome when you can take your 4 year old son fishing and he can catch a 10lb limit of Bass in a few hours by himself with the biggest going 3. Thats like me catchin a 30lb limit with a 10lb kicker. I dont know how long this lake will be on fire but The only thing more I can ask for is that 10lb kicker. I had 17lbs in the short trip with my son. Two 4lbr and the rest 3's.
      City: Petaluma

Tips: Drop shot, Senko, Swimbait. For some reason couldnt get a jig bite going...????

Report: Wen't out today had the best fishing in a while .It was great after a bad tournament.Started up about 12:30 started with buzz baits had atleast 10 2/4lbs .Then decided on a spook with a buzz bait. Thats when it got good within three cast i hooked into a five pounder out by the danm. The top water and buzz bait bit lasted all after noon.
      City: merced

Tips: Look for big rock piles in the 5 to 10 foot range .Also hammer those trees and bushes piles real well its werth the outcome even if you lose a lure or two.

      Water Temp: 60-70

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Ive been out here 9 or 10 times, but never really have fished for bass. This last trip, we decided to get a quick couple of trout, then fish for bass. After getting the trout, we entered a small cove on the east side of the lake. This cove had 2 large rocky walls and a stretch of weedbeds. We trolled by the wweedbed with a 4 inch swinbait for first pass and my dad nailed a huge largemouth! It weighed out at 5.3lbs on our digital scale. Released her, and trolled by again. Second pass, we caught another fish! This one weighed 4.12. We thought we'd catch em all day at that spot but thatb was it. So we got out of there and fished the rocky walls. I had a nice 1 up to the boat but it got off. Went down by sunken trees and caught 2. One was 1.21lbs the other was 2.58lbs. went by the rock wall and caught 1 more. It weighed 2.73lbs. All fish were caught with storm swimbaits ranging from 2 inches, to 4 inches.

VERY GOOD FISHING. Only fished for 4.5 hours. My dad and i are trout fisherman, so I would think that a bass fisherman could have a field day out here!
      City: San Francisco

Tips: Fish by rocky points and walls, sunken trees, and weedbeds. This is where we had such great luck. I hear peninsula cove is 1 of the best bass spots in the lake.

Report: I took a father/son to Oroville this morning for a 4 hr trip. It was a donated trip for William Jessup Univesity to honor the son's 16th birthday! We started near the dam launch ramp cove but caught only smaller bass so me moved out into the main lake. We found a hump that was full of quality spotted bass and caught several in the 14 to 15 1/4 inch size - all on Robo worms in morning dawn and prizm shad. Birthday boy caught the only bass over the slot. We wound up with 21 bass but for some reason lost a lot of them. The delta breeze moved in about 9 am and seemed to slow the bite and cause them not to inhale the worms. Weird! A very nice morning however!
      City: Yuba City

Tips: Most of our fish were found from 15 to 30 feet in the early morning. A few even deeper later in the morning. We did find them schooled a bit - a few areas with lots of fish and some with none! I suggest moving around a bit - most fish were on or near points. Canyon Creek was a bust for us for example. We had to wait in line at the dam launch - believe it or not - a salmon derby (sort of) on a Tues morning. I checked with some salmon guys when our trip was over and they were all smiles!!!

Report: Fished the north side of the lake, to the right of the bridge into Putah. We caught and released 30-40 fish mostly s.m. I dragged hula grubs on football jig heads. My buddy was dragging and swimming a single tale yamamato grub. Alot of the bass we caught had crawdads in there mouths or were spitting up dads. any redish or brownish color worked. Best 5 went 13-14 lbs I would say. Biggest fish nice 4lb. dark smallie.

Report: Took my dad out to discovery. He is a crab fisherman from WA, never seen a bass. All we threw were sinkos letting them drift under the docks. Nailed about 30 bass is 4 hours. Dads 2 biggest were a 8 and 4. 5 best went about 25. I usually wacky rig but dad was trying to catch a bigger boat, had to texas rig everything. He cant cast anything but a crab pot. didnt seem to effect the pick up. all but 2 fish hit below 15 feet of water. they were hanging deep at the end of docks.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: It's truly amazing how clear this lake is in some spots. Seeing 15' to 20' down is just unreal. The wife and I launched today at about 7:30AM and fished around Henderson (aka; SNAGVILLE) for about an hour. We ended up taking 17 fish there with the largest coming in at 4-7. We headed across the lake and fished along route 20 and caught a few more small ones. We ended the day fishing Glenhaven, Anderson and Windmill point catching numerous fish in each area. Our best 5 went just over 20lbs and together we caught and released just over 40 fish.
      City: Petaluma, CA

Tips: The bite is still prety much wide open. Now is the time to gain some confidence in baits you don't normally throw. Get out and go fishing. Today we took our fish using the drop shot, shakey head and t-rigged worms, beavers and brush-hogs in the watermelon color. I also caught a few fish using a small swimbait.

      Water Temp: 72-77

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Got an early start, on the water at 5:30. Fished Dutch and Taylor Sloughs in the early hours. No top water action for us. Found some fish in 8-10 feet of water off rocks with spinnerbaits. Partner had about a 4 on Spinnerbait. Several more small fish and moved to Frank's Track. Not much shallow water action at all. At 11:30 made a move for some deeper water docks in 12-16 feet. Game on. Caught several quality fish on large brush hog, Big Mama'a and 8 inch snake. Biggest fish just a bit over 7. Lost a giant while using a Roboworm Sour Puss under shady dock. Real heart breaker. Best 5 today around 22.
      City: Concord

Tips: Bigger fish were in deeper water for us. With bright blue skies they moved up under docks.
