Report: slow day for the most part. Crazy windy weekend, so didnt bother fishing on saturday. Went out on sunday hoping the winds calmed down. launched out of russo's, slight breeze in the morning, started off with one about 3 lbs in the first 10 min of fishing. then everything went dead after that. jumped around, but couldnt find any clear water. eventually found some "clearer" water up at fishermans cut (as did 4-6 other boats hahaha) camped out in one spot, and picked up 5 fish biggest about 2.5 lbs. bite died out, headed up towards mokelume...hooked a few more, but the wind and current was getting too strong for us. packed up, headed back down to franks for one last hoorah...then BAM, 7 lber. sure glad we didnt go straight back to the marina. caught another 4 lber chucking cranks. Not a great day, but satisfying. best 5 only about 15 lbs.
City: el cerritoTips: find some clearer water. fish are there, but just cant see your bait. all fish held tight to cover as most do when the water is dirtied up like that. traps and big body cranks (wide wobble) seemed to work for us. also got some fish on big roboworms. CHARGE YOUR BATTERY well!!!! i learned the hard way =(

Report: I really enjoyed a nice Clear Lake trip on Friday - though it started a little rough. I rigged grandpa up with a brush hog and as I am getting grandson ready, I hear a big bass jump and our senior client has already lost the first of the day on the first cast! Maybe that was a good thing since the day turned out well. That bass seemed around 5 to 6 lbs or more. We fished areas around the lower Rattlesnake arm and I was very pleased as they caught and lost bass after bass. After 19 in the boat, I decided to show them the keys since it was quite rough on the main body. They caught 3 more using hogs and spinnerbaits. I decided to try the Basstrix blue/chartreuse minnow rigged on a Blade Runner swim/spin - throwing it in the middle of the channel. Soon, it just stopped - I set - and the fun began. She was about 7 lbs of fun - at 3 pm after probably 50 boats had gone through! Amazing!! She had not spawned yet. That gave us a limit of 22-23 lbs.
City: Yuba CityTips: Green pumpkin worms and brush hogs were pleasing to the bass on Friday - at least for us. Watermelon/red-flake was good too. I tried cranking quite a bit but no takers. Swimbaits didn't work for us either until the big one - but the morning was quite chilly. Don't know if that mattered or not. We had to slow down our presentations - with frequent pauses, to get the bass to commit. Most of our quality bass came off-shore on some type of rocky structure or irregular bottom. Ledges produced very well but you have to hunt for them. Not a lot of bass on the bank. Next week's warm weather should get them on the bank again - at least the pre-spawn bass. The next big tourney (FLW) will probably hit the lake just at the right time just like the Elite Series. Don't forget to dodge the boats carefully next week!!

Report: Thought the fishing would be tough after recent weather...just the opposite.Best day bass fishing I've ever had.Two 8 lbs, one 6 lbs, and 2 monsters...One 13.6 and one 14.2! This is no lie.Huge females on beds. I actually had 2 witnesses to take my picture with my phone. I couldn't believe the size and girth of these females. They were in less than 2' of water. All fish were caught near island next to clumps of tulies. All fish were weighed with digital scale. I was very tempted to take to kiosk to be weighed but I didn't have the heart to risk hurting these beauties.
City: AntiochTips: Pumpkin jigs with yamamoto craw trailers. The smallest came on a topwater "sammy" by lucky craft, and one took a brush hog in pumpkin/chart.

Water Temp: 61-63
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: After a slow trip on Friday and the present cold front - didn't know what to expect today! I think the second day of a cold front is a bite killer - but this was the THIRD day and guess what - they bit!!! A father son team and I landed 29 bass up to near 3 lbs and our limit was in the 14 lb range. We caught bass in the narrows on nearly everything we threw except rips, cranks, and topwater. The biggest bass was a largie an ounce or two under 3 lbs which hit a Rodstrainer jig. Senkos in my favorite colors - 221 and 222 were a bit hit with all species of bass. Dad caught his first few Senko bass ever. Six misses and then he scored!!! He also did what he did on the last trip - caught some real nice post-spawn smallies. We found most of our bass on steep walls with irregular features - a dent or slight point. Senkos worked well in brush - though much of it is out of the water. Robo worms in the 6 and 7 inch size produced over half of our bass. MMIII and salt river craw were the best colors today - probably because of a mostly cloudy day.
City: Yuba CityTips: When the weather warms, maybe the topwater action will pick up. Water is still in the low 60's - amazing for late April. Small rock produced better that large rock. Remember to move around - some places did not produce any bass for us. I was proud of the son part of the team - he did well too - he did learn to worm fish better today I think! Nice Day!! PS - the bite is still very soft - just pressure. We did get a few bites but I expect more nice bites when the water finally warms.

Report: The reaction bite on was on Thurs. Boated 20+ keeps with big fish of 8.9 and 8.15. Best five about 28lbs. Plus at the end of the day I dumped another biggun about 7-8lbs right at the boat after her 3rd or 4th jump.. Would have been into the 30's w that one. Went back out Fri and.. well, not so good, not at all..think I was just too stubborn to put the big bait down.
City: TracyTips: Caught some spawned out, others were bloated with eggs, and saw some on beds... all three stages for sure.

Water Temp: 55
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Since my boat is in the "boat hospital" for a lower unit transplant my ole buddy Fred P invited me for a day at beautiful Clearlake. Must say that we were expecting some rain but it never happened and it was overcast all day and the bite was on. Fished the south today and the first fish was on a brown/orange jig for 5.3 and it only got better as the day progressed. Didn't seem to matter what color plastic you threw, they were eating it and most were pre spawn females with a buck thrown in here and there. Best 5 for the day topped 29 lbs.
City: WheatlandTips: Since the temp has dropped it appears they have moved out a little more and most were caught in 10-15' using Sweet Beavers, Jigs, Brushhogs and Senkos. Slow down your presentation as a lot of the bites were undetectable until you felt your rod tip start to load up. Used dark and light colors so take your pick and throw it. Go and have a ball. Fred did get the biggest today which was 8.5 lbs but they were all fiesty!

Report: Helam, i will be fishing tomarrow near Koncti, 4-20-07. Come on out and we will help you catch some cows. They are not fish tales. If the weather is good tomarrow, i bet we land atleast 30 apiece - no joke.
City: Clear Lake OaksTips: Salt n Pepper, Green Pumpkin with black, purple, or red flake. I like using the Kreature and my b inlaw like the brush hogs while fishing in the cover. Drop Shot off the bank about 30-40 feet in 10 to 14 ft of water. Hope his helps.

Report: Started fishing aprox. 1100 AM, north of Konachti Harbor with my Brother Inlaw. Bass are very active. Caught about 20 Bass a piece between 11am and 3 pm. Brush Hogs, 6" worms, and drop shotting. I caught a 6.75 drop shoting a salt n pepper 2" tube bait. Go figure. Caught mostly males. Females are off the shore, looks like they haven't spawned yet. These fish are very active today, incredible. Weather is starting to suck., some females. Good healthy fish averaging about 2.5-3 lbs each.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished friday before the last cold front came in and the bite was tough. I still managed to boat some good fish, but the bite was really not what I was expecting. I started out throwing a Basstrix paddle tube and...nothing. I got one good bite but the fish didn't eat the bait. Then I started throwing the blade...nothing. Finally I fell to my knees and took out the dropshot rod and got the first 2-1/2 lber in the boat. Then after 5 or 6 fish I realized I was onto something. I was just amazed how far back one night of cold weather moved them off. But I guess its the same as a couple days of nice weather moving them up. If it wasn't purple, they wouldn't touch it. I caught fish on a 5" green pumpkin Yamasenko also, but most all of my fish came dropshotting folkstad special or MM3 in 10-12 feet of water. Just because Nice is shallow doesn't mean there's no bass there! I notice alot of you guys fish rattlesnake and jago and the south end. Come up north, it's like two different lakes. It's like the difference between Oroville and the Thermalito after bay. I did not SEE any fish!! All of the senko fish I caught were off of isolated tule patches in 3 to 5 feet of water and the water was clear, I still couldn't see any fish. If things get tough, dropshot, it may be called the quitters rig, but hey, it catches em' when nothing else will. Go fishing. There are still a billion bass to be caught but you gotta find and figure, then boat your fish. See ya on the lake.
City: Upper LakeTips: Drop shot the pea gravel and the tules in between docks real slow w/ different purple variations. Blind cast senkos to isolated tule patches. Remember all the 4 pounders you see cruisin and chillin under docks can see you crystal clearly.
