      Water Temp: cold

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Got a nice 4#er on senco first thing this afternoon. Then nothing for the rest of the day. Several people said they hadn't had a bite at all. First time fishing this lake. Seems to have alot of pressure on it there must have been 20 people on the bank and another 20 on the water. Got my fish in some tules and then my friend at the end of the day pulled up a dink in the same place. Honestly, wasn't really impressed.

      Water Temp: 41

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: The water temp is back down to 41 after we had a foot or so of snow dumped into the lake. Combine that with the full moon and fishing was tough yesterday. The ramp and parking lot are in excellant shape. Thanks to whoever took care of all that. We are enjoying some much warmer weather for the next few days with a small storm moving in mid-week but it's supposed to be a warm one. Things are looking up for the next Jason Fisher tournament next Sat. The lake has a little color in it so the sunshine forcast for the next few days should get the temp on the rise again. Last year at this time it took 24 lbs. for a 4 fish limit to win and I think things are right on track for some more spectacular weights.
      City: Weaverville

Tips: Snow almost right to the waters edge and a calm sunny day made for a beautiful day on the water even if the fish were a little moody.

      Water Temp: 52

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Beautiful WX but tough fishing. Caught 9 but had to work for them and didn't really get a pattern going -catch one fish, move and switch baits. My first cast of the day was against the shore on a point in 1 ft of water and 2.5lb LM grabbed it. The rest were caught from 6 to 23ft off points and steep drops on brush hog, drop shot robo in AArons Magic, and TX rigged creature tube bait. Tried crank, jerk, and spinnerbait off and on all day with no luck. Got to meet PapaJohn on the ramp and he had a great day drop shotting deep. Congrats!
      City: Foster City

Tips: Fish are really scattered. Start with your confidence bait in various depths and switch if you don't get bit in areas where you know there are fish. Remember that one fish does not a pattern make.

      Water Temp: 52 - 54+

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: My best day at Anderson. Caught 5, 1-2#. South of the launch ramp, west side off of rocky points. One on a watermelon with red flake tube, the rest drop shotting a 6" RoboWorm M.M. III, straight tail on a red hook in 30-40' of water. (Thanks Coyote Bait and Tackle for that recommendation!) All between 0800 and 1200. After that nothing.
      City: Monterey

      Tips: Nice meeting you T2!

      Water Temp: 54+

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: My buddy Mike and I got a late start, but got out on the water by 10. Got bit using rip baits, tubes, and senkos. Didn't try much else. The bass have really started to move up shallow, as we caught fish in as shallow as 5 feet. Mixture of spots and smallies and one largemouth. Overall great day with over 25 fish landed. and lots more lost.
      City: Folsom

Tips: The pause is key on the rip bite... Make sure you stop for a few seconds and keep your slack reeled up and wait for the smack, they were nailing it.

      Water Temp: 54 degrees

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Norm & I launched out of Capells Cove around 10am. Started dropshoting around Skiers Cove, but followed the bank heading east towards the narrows. Caught 11 fish, 10 bass and one crappie. Heaviest bass was 2.9, 4 were over
2 lbs. Weather was almost perfect.
      City: Woodland

Tips: Fish were caught on Flash-trix Morning Dawn, purple Robo with Chartruse tail, Chartruse tubeworm-itsy bitsy!
We watched another fisherman catch a 5+ pound bass on a swimbait. Showed a 9+pound fish he had caught earlier. That fish was Huge! Just gotta get a swim bait! Good Luck!

      Water Temp: 53

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Went out of rivers end with my old fishing buddy Doug. Slow for everyone we talked to. Big out going tide in the morning and real muddy water. Tide bottomed out at 1pm and then it improved. Nothing on spinners, jerks, or swimbaits. All our fish came on black or bl/red 8" worms. We ended the day with over a 12 fish, but no size to them. All 2-3#s. We spent some time exploring as we have not fished the delta much. Could not beleive how many PWC, Wakeboarders, and big boats were running aroung for early March. Most be a zoo in the summer.

      Water Temp: 49-54

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: With the beautiful warm day and blue bird skies my club partner boomer and I decided to head to the Delta. Expecting that Franks track would be loaded with boats, we launched out of big break and planned to avoid Franks all together. The morning proved to be a slow bite, both for us and all the people that we talked to. With an out going tied, my partner picked up a few in the 2-3 pound range on hula grubs. We couldn't buy a bite in the morning as the tide turned slack at low tide.

Thankfully, the afternoon came, along water movement and a 6.7 pounder for Boomer. I made an adjustment and that made all the difference. I had been throwing a black and blue jig (Duh who isn't) with a black and blue glitter trailer. Switching to a bright blue trailer was the difference between my morning and my afternoon. The change lead to a half dozen fish in the 3-4 pound range on a day that I was struggling, we added several more fish on grubs, beavers and 1 on a chatterbait.

We didn't get any spinnerbait fish, didn't throw cranks or jerks today. But on a beautiful day that ended in shirt sleeves, we had a great day. If you would like to join us for a day on the water, we fish out of the Devil Mountain Bassmaster www.dmbass.com. Our next meeting is Wednesday at 7:00 in Walnut Creek. We are a social club with year around tournaments. For more information just give me a call 925-639-7724 or drop me an email.

      Water Temp: 49-50

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I made a quick trip to Clear Lake for a few hours Sun night. Didn't stay long - the weather was much nicer but the bite wasn't! I heard from two sources that the bite on Sunday was excellent after a slow Saturday. A good day bite can slow the night bite and it did. I must be in a mini-slump 'cause I lost another big bass - took me into some rocks and finally had to break the line. Wow! The bass just wern't hitting like Thurs evening - a few had taken the bait with no indication of pressure. I did manage one or two 3's and a great bite from a 5 1/4 pounder - luckily just before I left - helped keep me awake!
      City: Yuba City

Tips: Not much to say - night fishing this time of year really is feast or famine. Maybe if we can start putting these big ones in the boat that we are losing, the reports will be more exciting - at least will carry more weight, har!!!

      Water Temp: 47-50

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Met up with my brother to fish Grandpas lake, started out of clearlake oaks and headed North to try and get to some of those nice spots north and when we got to the narrows the Fog was so thick we could hardly see, got to about Soda Springs (I think) and could not see at all so we headed to the shore and fished a while waiting for the fog to clear and it never really did. we fished around that area till about 10:30 and it was still fogged in everywhere but the south where we came from. Fished a rickpile for a while but wind was blowing, tried the barge on the east side and down the tulies fron there and by noon wind was really kickin up for our 16 footer. Tried Redbud area and Indian island with less wind then ventured back to the oaks to see if we could get out of the wind around rattlesnake. Took it slow and still got very wet so we tried the Keys. Dead or dying shad all over and tons of birds having a field day. Dropped my brother off and finished out on the calm side of Rattlesnake where it atleast seemed like there would be fish. Ended up with no fish but learned more... south water was very stained and all the shad were not a good sign. We tried Jig, Brushog, dropshot, spinner baits, jerk baits, crank baits, Senkos and even thres a couple topwater baits in the calm spots with sun and shade. I even got more comfortable throwing the swim bait, THANKS so much Nick for your insight on the bottom walker. I know it will work when the conditions are right.
      City: Pacifica

Tips: As it always goes driving home Sunday the water was calm as could be, no wind, no fog, the whole North end looked great.... but the boat was on the trailer heading home, there is always next time.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Just so everyone is clear on the swimbait I was using, It was the 5" Live eye bottom walker. Color doesn't seem to matter as long as it looks somewhat like a hitch or a big shad. I have gotten a lot of e-mails regarding this so now you know. Good Luck!!
      City: Upper Lake

Tips: slow roll that sucker off the bottom and hang on!!

Report: Please note there have been a lot of dead fish in the lake. If you do not have a deep bass kit for decompressing swim bladders or don't know how to use one FLAG me down and I'll give you one and show you how to use one. We are losing too many fish to deep dropshotting. I have the tan Fisher bass boat (BigJohn's Toy) or go by the Ranger station as I dropped some off there as well. Thank you.

      Water Temp: 48-52

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: I Hit the lake on the 20th of Feb. Big fish of the day - 2 7's and an 8 pounder. "Verified by the Rangers." And some smaller in the 1 to 3 pound class. Hit it again on the 24th to try some new home made baits. Small up to 5.5 lbs.
Hit it again on Friday the 2nd. Big fish for the day was 7.6 lbs. hooked by Joey my 14 year old fishing partner on his 3rd cast. It was the biggest fish he ever landed (and on 6 lb test, no less). That made my day. A few more in the 1.5 to 3.0 range. All the females are fat and ready for spawning.
      City: Fresno

Tips: The trees are blooming, the water is warming. I think in the next 7 to 10 days the bites should get real good. The fish are moving into shallow water to get heat off the rocks from the sun and looking for spawning areas to settle into a nesting place. Brown jigs w/craw trailers, white/chartreuse spinners, swimbaits in 2 to 15 feet off the banks.
Have fun and I'll see you on the lake.
