Water Temp: 55
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: I fished last Saturday with a friend. We caught 5 up to 2.5lbs. on a combination of plastics and reaction baits. The water was crystal clear and the weather was too nice with sunshine and blue skies which made for a tough bite.
City: Santa RosaTips: Be patient the weather is going to change with rain in the forcast starting Friday and continuing on and off for a week. This change in weather will definitely improve the bite especially for the upcoming Redwood Empire Bass Club Open Team Tournament on December 16th. You don't have to be a member to fish so please come to our meeting next Wednesday at 7p.m. at the Rohnert Park Community Center on the corner of Rohnert Park Expressway and Snyder Lane to register for the tournament. Marine Unlimited will co host the tournament with us and be providing many fishing/boating products which will be given away to tournament anglers after the weigh in. The owner of Marine Unlimited , Brant Behler will be bringing a new Champion or Stratos for some lucky boaters to test drive after the tournament. This will be a fun event and I encourage everyone to attend. For further info log onto rebc.net or call me at 758.5762.

Report: Started about noon. Went to an main body off-shore break and started spooning about 40ft. My first 2 fish were trout. Then I went to an island out in front of Beals point and started drop shotting a Basstrix smelt SJB in about 25 to 30ft. and caught quite a few smallmouth and spots in the 1-1/2 to 3lb. range. Moved over off the islands in the middle of the lake and found a lot of fish in 25 to 40ft. They were feeding up on the flats close to a deep break or the very end of a point.

Report: In responce to Paul Parks' recent post regarding the seemingly decline in amount of fish being caught. I began fishing Folsom about four years ago. Until this past spring/spawn season, I really believed the fish population in the lake was very low. Very rarly did I catch more than five fish per outing. During the past spawn in 2006, I could not believe the amount and size of fish that were up shallow very easy catch. Several days I caught fish mostly all day with good size. However, as I was fishing a good size cove, a boat pulled into the cove, right past me, five guys piled out unto the bank and proceeded to completey empty out the cove of spawning bass. Each person kept a large stringer of bass. I saw the same group several times throughout the spawn season. My guess is that could hurt the fish population. Maybe not, I don't know.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: took the long walk back by the dam. Its pretty awsome back there. The fishing was pretty slow for me. I noticed the moon out around 3pm dont know if that had anything to do with it. The carp were going nuts in the bays. It was pretty wierd because there were literally hundreds of them everywhere. I basically fished my trusty swim bait on all the fresh water and then went back over the same water with various desperate attempts to find a fish. Caught 6 mini's on texas rigged craw and drop shot Aarons magic. Hope you all are on em. Heading up to the Delta again this weekend to chase the linesides.

Report: STAYED AWAY FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS TO LET THE LAKE CALM DOWN. HEADED SOUTH AND DECIDED TO FISH THE CUT THROUGH TO TEMPERANCE, AND CAUGHT SEVERAL NICE TWO POUND SPOTS ON SHAD COLORED WORMS DROPSHOTTING FROM THE BANK OUT TO FIFTY FEET. NEXT WENT INTO CTTONWOOD ALL THE WAY TO THE BACK, AND CAUGHT FIVE NICE FIFTEEN INCH CLONES ALL ABOUT 1.7 - 1.8 POUNDS ON THE SAME RIG. ON THE WAY OUT I STOPPED AT THE ISLAND TOP ON THE LEFT RIGHT OUTSIDE THE FIVES AND HAD ONE DECENT BITE ON A SWIMBAIT, THE FISH GOT OFF BUT IS A SOLID ONE, BUT WITH SPOTS YOU NEVER KNOW THEY ALL FEEL BIG!! HEADED TO THE DAM NEXT AND TOSSED THE SWIMBAIT SOME MORE WITH NO TAKERS. DECIDED TO HEAD TO THE RIVER AND THROW JIGS, CAUGHT SEVERAL SLOT FISH AND ONE NICE TWO POUND SPOT. BROWN 1/2 OZ JIG WITH BROWN PORK, ALL IN ALL NOT BAD ENDED THE DAY WITH BETWEEN 10 - 11 POUNDS, NOT GREAT BUT FROM THE RECENT RESULTS NOT TOO BAD, OF COURSE THIS WAS ON A MONDAY!

Report: John, I hope to fish Trinity with you someday. I've been keeping up with your reports for quite some time and have really enjoyed them. I especially love spoon fishing, personally. I have always entertained the thought of guide fishing here in the southbay, but I don't have a clue where to begin. I've been fishing lakes like Calero, Anderson, Chesbro, and have a pretty good knowledge of how to catch them here. Would you help a fellow who's thinking about starting a guide service down this way. Sorry, gang, this is not a fishing report, but I promise to leave reports after this.
City: san joseTips: spend time reading the reports and go and try the techniques recommended on the reports and DO NOT lose heart if you don't catch fish right away. Everybody get's skunked, but persistence really does pay off.

Anderson Lake
-
Water Temp: 53 to 57
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished the south end 200 yards inside the 5 mph markers, I marked fish all over the right side of the cove but could only get the fish that I found sitting on top of a small ball of shad to bite, the ball was about 5 ft by 5 ft at the most in about 35 feet of water. I caught 4 about 2 lbs and 3 about 1/2 to 1.25 lbs on 4 inch robo worms drop shotted. If I was not on top of the shad the bass would not bite I had to stay right on top of it and that was kind of hard with my 2 1/2 year old son on board wanting to play, so we would horse around for a while and fish for a while.
City: San JoseTips: This time of year you really need a good fish finder, I had a $150.00 Eagle that would not pick up the shad so I replaced it, you need to spend at least $250.00 to get a Eagle or Lawrance that will pick up the shad and than just sit on them, this has worked for me more times than I can remember. Drop your drop shot to the bottom and shake it and leave it be for a count to 10 lift for weight, no weight reel in about 5 turns and do it again, I caught 3 fish that were suspended and when I landed them they were coughing up shad.

Camp Far West Lake

Water Temp: 50-53
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Lake going back up a little but still low. Tom Erickson and I fished the long and deep banks with crank baits, picked up two and one at 2.2 lbs. Staying in the main body (wats left) and on rocky points in 5-20 ft of water using 3/8 football jigs head with a hulla grubs. On one bank along we got 6 nice bass up to 2.5 lbs.
Most of the Hulla grubs were green pumkin with red/black flake and smoke/black. After the sun hits the water slow down and get ready for a "soft" bite. Some of the fish just picked it up and came swimming at the boat. So be ready for your line to feel limp.
City: RocklinTips: crank slow with a deep diver on rocky banks and point. Most of the fish that were deep did not bite?

Eastman Lake
-
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: I was sad to see Mark Inman go. This man gives accurate fishing reports, shares his techniques and secrets, only to be criticized by the web master for advertising the very lures he says catches fish. If his selling a few jigs without paying you advertising space hurts you that bad financially, well too bad. I hope to see him on Calfishing or Swimbait nation.
City: VisaliaTips: Buy Marks jigs and tear 'em up at Eastman. I hope everyone endorses Marks products in the narratives of their reports. God forbid someone mention that Huddelston Deluxes are kill'n 'em.. That's right, that won't happen because they're not paying for ad space!!!!!!!!!!!

Folsom Lake
-
Water Temp: 54
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: I have to agree with Jeremy on conditions at the Dead Sea. I fished Saturday from noon to 2:00.Went to spots that always hold fish and never had a bite.
I live three minutes from the lake and fish it frequently.Even though Fall and Winter is not my most effective time to fish, I rarely get skunked.I am making a call, this lake is in a serious decline.
Over the past three years I have seemed to catch less fish per hour than previous trips. Even though spring is awesome for numbers and size, the numbers are smaller.Three years ago four hours after work produced 15 to 20 fish that were no smaller than 2.5 lbs and common up to 4 lbs. with the 5 and 6 lber every other trip.
This year I had some great action on large fish but the same four hours produced 5 to 10 fish.As I drove around the lake this Sat. I noticed the areas I used to fish that had wood and tree's. My guess is half of the wood has disappeared in the last 5 years.
I dont want to be a nattering nabob of negativity but my hope is this is a temporary thing that nature figures out on its own.Lakes come and go with fish, Folsom has been awesome, I guess I'll just have to wait or get better at fishing this pond.
