Report: cold morning but beautiful day with lots of sunshine and just a breeze. fished for about 3 hours for Crappie catching 34-50. My partner had the touch easily out fishing 4-1 biggest 2.10 I blieve but numerous 1.5 - 2 lbs fish. the rest of the afternoon was for Bass. Fish a few spots that did not produce but finally found a streach that produce about 34-40 fish up to 3.2 pounds. Jigs and drop shot was the tickets. My partner was catching all of his bigger fish on drop shot where most of my larger fish were of the jig. most fish caught between 3 and 20 feet.
      City: Roseville

Tips: Drag the drop shot and slow drag the jig.

Report: My friend Adam and I got on a very slow jig bite on Sat. Very few dinks. Most of the fish were around the three pound range, some to 3.5 lb. Adam caught a very nice 8.9lb. Our best five went for about 22 lbs. I tried jerk baits and rattle baits, nothing. I caught one about 2 lbs on a slit shot worm. They wanted the jig.
      City: Redwood Valley

      Tips: Dead stick

      Water Temp: 58

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: My partner and I fisheed all day and it was a slow bite for us. Lot of boats in tourney. We caught plenty of 12" fish with my 4lb and 3lb and my partners 5lb being the biggest. We fished 3rd ramp with not much success so we moved to the 5mph zone and caught some better fish. Saw others catching all small fish too. we caught most of our fish in 25-45' on rock piles with the 5lber coming out of only 12'.
      City: Exeter

Tips: Fish SLOW, deadstick jigs, drag kreatures and senkos. Colors were blue and watermelon. Hope someone will post the tourney results.

      Water Temp: 55

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished in a small office tournament (6 boats). Tough bite for everyone. We caught three bass from 2.5 to 4.6 pounds, which was enough to win.
      City: Sacramento

Tips: When the bite is this tough you've got to finesse them. Working drop shot very slowly in 25-40 feet was the ticket. No reaction bite today.

      Water Temp: 57

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Ditto last week's report. Another slow day. John got one about 1.5 lbs, and I landed a nice 3 1/4 lb. bass that took a black Swimming Senko rigged with 3/16 oz. Florida screw-in weight in about 8 feet of depth. There were still many fish showing suspended over main lake basin, but neither John nor I could get them to hit anything. I had a dead-sticked Castaic Trout on the water most of the morning, but had no action on it.
      City: Monterey

Tips: Hang in there, keep movin', keep castin', and have patience.

Report: GOT OUT BY MYSELF TODAY QUITE A FEW PEOPLE OUT PRE-FISHING!! WENT BACK INTO COTTONWOOD AND THERE WERE QUITE A FEW GUYS, ITS ALL GOOD! HIT SOME OF THE POINTS ON THE NORTH BANK GOING IN WITH A WHITE JIG AND CAUGHT FOUR NICE FISH AND THREE RATS, LARGEST FISH WAS A SPOT THAT WENT 2.4 POUNDS, THE OTHER THREE WERE 1.5 - 1.7 POUND SLOT CLONES. FINALLY GOT BACK OUT ON THE ISLAND TOP AND ON THE FIRST CAST WITH THE TRIPLE TROUT HAD A 3.33, THEN NOTHING!! DECIDED TO MAKE A RUN AND GO ALL THE WAY IN TO PINEY. THERE WERE A FEW BOATS IN THE BACK, SO I STARTED LOOKING FOR BAIT, I FOUND A NICE BALL OF SHAD IN 50 FEET OF WATER RIGHT ON A TREE, PULLED OUT THE DROPSHOT AND CAUGH THREE GOOD SPOTS ALL 1.8 - 1.9 POUNDS, SAW SOME GUY IN THE BACK STICK A GOOD ONE ON A ( I THINK ) HUDDLESTON, COULD NOT TELL HOW BIG THOUGH HE WAS TRYING TO BE SNEAKY AND HIDE IT!! FUNNY! GRAPHED MY WAY OUT OF THERE AND MARKED SOME BAIT BUT NOT AS MUCH AS IN COTTONWOOD, THOUGH THE FISH IN PINEY WERE A LITTLE BETTER QUALITY. NEXT I HIT THE CANYON AND CAUGHT NOTHING BUT RATS, SAME DEAL ON THE MAIN LAKE, LOTS OF SLOT FISH! FINISHED UP ON THE POINTS ACROSS FROM BARRETS ON THE EAST SIDE OF THE LAKE AND STUCK ONE MORE GOOD FISH ABOUT TWO AND A HALF. FINISHED UP THE AFTERNOON WITH A LITTLE OVER ELEVEN POUNDS. I AM GOING TO GO TO THE WEIGH IN THIS WEEKEND TO SEE HOW THE TOURNEY GUYS DO! GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU!!
      City: MERCED

Tips: THE BACKS OF THE CREEKS LOOK PRETY GOOD, YOU JUST HAVE TO STICK WITH THE SHAD IMITATIONS, AND FISH SLOW. BEST BAIT TODAY WAS THE 4" PRO GOLD PRO WORM, ALTHOUGH I DO NOT THINK THAT MATTERS MUCH.

WENT INTO THE BACK AND ACTUALLY FOUND SOME BAIT IN 30 - 40 FEET OF WATER AND CAUGHT SEVEN MORE 14.5 INCH SLOT FISH. STOPPED AT THE DAM ON THE WAY OUT AND FISHED BOTH CORNERS, ONE MORE NICE TWO POUND SPOT, AND A BUNCH OF 14.5 INCH LARGEMOUTH. FISHED A FEW MAINLAKE POINTS AND CAUGHT A FEW RATS, COTTONWOOD IS A GOOD BET FOR NUMBERS AND FUN! HAD NINE PLUS FOR FIVE, NOT BAD FOR FOUR HOURS.

Report: got on the water @ 10AM and started throwing a jig and drop shot. No dice all day till i fianaly got one (1.5 lb) on a senko off the back reeds. The alge bloom is definately still present. I HATE IT. its so thick my fish finder doesnt even read fish. I guess they just stocked so i tried my new 3:16 mission fish with no production. I feel that those fish have already gorged themselves on stockers so theyre not too hungry right now. Just a hunch.
      City: Watsonville, Ca

Tips: Talked to a guy that says go suuuuuuper sloooow with your presentation. Not the easiest theing to do. Good luck.

      Water Temp: 57'

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished Discovery Bay this morning in search of some striper's. Only to fish for the first 7 hours without a bite. Finally we slipped into the one bay we had not tried all day and finally hooked up. The fish were stacked up in there thick. We caught them in about 25 feet of water right off the bottom. It was a long day but persistence pays off. The fish were all in the 5-7lb range with the biggest going 11lbs.
      City: San Jose

Tips: Make sure you have a good graph because you'll be in for a long game of hide n' seek. We caught our fish on live bluegills, minnow's and spoon's. If you have graph run around until you mark fish before you drop your line's. Also, try to be as quiet as you can. When boats were running around they quit biting when they left it turned right back on!!!!

      Water Temp: low 50's

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Haven't posted for awhile because my PC crashed. My cousin and I launched out of Paradise Marina yesteday at 7:30A. Am glad that we wore our thermals and had our Fish Hedz - with the wind chill - it had to be in the high 20's. Decided we were going to try to catch some stripers or salmon since the water was so cold. Fished Disappointment for about an hour but got no bites. Decided to head up to our favorite slough. Had my first bite at 10:45A and landed a 5+ lb striper. Had only one other bite -- shaker striper. Around 12:00P, we were getting ready to leave when we noticed a school of shad getting clobbered. Both of us had 2 rods rigged with 3/4 oz Rat L Traps. We made 4 casts and caught 3 keeper size stripers and lost 1. This action lasted less than a minute. As soon as we netted a stiper, we cut the line to that rod so that we could net the next striper. We had 3 5-6 lb stripers in the net with Rat L Traps hanging out of their mouths and had to be extra careful afterwards. It was the fastest action that I've ever had.

In the same slough about 2 weeks earlier, I caught my biggest salmon ever on a 3/4 oz Rat L Trap - 27 lbs.
      City: Dixon

Tips: You never know when you get lucky. We did a lot of cranking, but had only 6 bites for the day. Our Rat L Traps were 3/4 oz shad color and 3/4 oz chrome w/blue back.
