Water Temp: 51 to 53
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Well the cold front showed up this weekend and the anglers didnt traffic was light over the weekend and the bass were in deep water there still are bass in the 12 to 16 inch range but the bite has fallin off on drop shot and jig fish. This may be the week they plant trout so that might help stir the bigger fish again. The ramps on both side of the lake are goods bets when the trout are dumped also try the dam area put the boat in 10 to 15 feet of water and throw out into deep water and fish up the face of the dam ( SLOW )Also the 5 mph in the deeper water slow down east wall in the 35 to 50 foot depth from east ramp to keepout bouys. the swimming area is also another good spot with a real nice ledge that run out there into deep water it should hold bass right now.
City: kerman caTips: Slow down you might even try dead stickin your lure your throwing. The bite is softier than normal. dont look to put 20 fish in the boat but look for 5 to 6 bites in half a days fishing. If your using live bait the dam area is a good choice.

Water Temp: 50.5-52.9
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Very short trip - under 2 hours (2pm-4pm). No hits but saw some 2 pound fish visually in about 4 feet on rocky hump. Main reason for report is water temp. Air temp was pretty warm. Dike 8/Folsom Pt. launch ramp almost too low to use but not quite. Water still much higher than it should be this time of year.
City: FolsomTips: Stored a lot of waypoints on GPS for future use.

Water Temp: 50-52
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Pre-fished down south and around mildred area. Found lots of reaction fish rippin shallow grass and slow rolling blades along tule islands. Fished the AC semi pro today, greated by a cold front and a clear sky,, not great for us reaction guys. Spent two hours at our first stop, the back of a dead end slough, with only 1 keep to show for it. Ran to my partners water where he'd located several schools of fish holding out in front of deep water docks. Partner sticks a 4 and 5 and now we feel like were back in the hunt. We filled our limit on the docks and decided to give another shallow grass area a try, since it was now overcast and the wind picked up. We couldn't get bit on the blade, but managed to cull our smaller fish rippin up two 2's and a 3. finished in 3rd with just over 16lbs. 1st and 2nd both had 18.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Went out of the Wimpie's area today to test my friend's project boat. Being the fishing addict, I brought two poles with us. One was setup with a jerkbait and the other had a deep diving Craw color Timeber Tiger crank. We targeted deep weed lines around coves. Fished both baits very slow with a long pause between retrieves. The tide was coming back in. Overall we caught three fish within a half hour. Not bad for winter.
City: SacramentoTips: Live weeds in coves and deep water. Throw your typical winter baits--jigs n pig, crank, jerk, and flip slow. Thoroughly work an area. It may take up to eight cast before the fish strikes your bait.

Water Temp: 54 degrees
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: On the water with a friend at @07:30 hrs air temp at 32degrees with no wind. Decided to run up the South Fork first which was difficult due to the fog still on the water. Found the old salmon falls bridge with no fish on it and that maybe because the water temp there is at 45 degrees. Fished the South fork for a few hours with no luck(not even a bite). Ran to the main lake to fish points found one spotted bass in about 5 feet water near current and rock. She hit a baby brush hog on a darthead rig and weighted in just under 2 1/2 lbs. Wind was blowing out of the southeast between 8-10 miles from about 8am on which made for a very cold day of fishing. Saw several other boats running and gunning but I don't know how they did. North Fork water temp is still above 50 degrees, today is was at 54 degrees. This lake continues to eat my lunch..One day I'll figure her out until then have fun, dress warm and take a kid fishing. Merry Christmas to all.
City: EDHTips: I would probably fish the North Fork only because the South Fork water temp is getting Cold.

No Gas Docks For You Tournament Guys,But Lots Of Docks To Fish,I Also Caught Fish At Silverthorn Docks Again Easy Pickens. This Pattern Of Small docks on upper sac will hold till Post Spawn.
City: LakeheadTips: Spots love to get under docks more than beside them. these community fish do not go deep as often as open water fish,so remain consistant till spring or warmer weather comes. THESE SPOTS ARE BIG SO HANG ON.

Report: The Redwood Empire Bass Club held its annual Open team tournament today. There were 27 teams which was a record turnout. The winners were 1st: Joe Leonard & Patrick McGee with 15.94 lbs.& big fish of 4.55lbs. 2nd: Derek Castro & Brian Hoxsie with 13.51lbs. 3rd: Mike McPherson fishing alone with 13.04lbs. 4th: Dave Church & John Kidder with 12.59lbs. 5th: Brent Schneider fishing alone with 12.29lbs. and second big fish of 4.17lbs. My partner Dave Nieto and I finished sixth, one place out of the money with 12.19lbs.
The weights wern't as heavy as I had predicted in my previous report but everyone caught fish and there were 20 limits weighed in. The winning team used heavy jigs fished at 30 to 40 ft. A variety of crankbaits, drop shot worms and blades caught the majority of the fish. A special thanks to Marine Unlimited for co-hosting the event with us and providing raffle gifts.
City: Santa RosaTips: I would like to invite all you bass fishermen both boaters and non boaters to fish with the Redwood Empire Bass Club in 2007. Report: Well, now that it's late into the night/morning and all the NCC angler's are or should be sleeeping I will post my report from Thursday the 14 th.Okay, On the water before sun-up, 1st stop I started off throwing a spook around an island in the main body, result's nada. I then switched over to a lucky craft staceeeee 90 rip-bait in ghost minnow, I ripped over shallow flat's & deep one's aswell for NADA.Next up was the swim-bait, for nada.I then broke down and went for the drop-shot rod, result's> (BORING BUT PRODUCTIVE, IF YOU LIKE CATCHING SALMON). I caught four Salmon drop shotting using a 3" Berkley Power Minnow , color was Black Shad,AWESOME bait for bass aswell just not on this stop.I left the main body & headed for the South Fork. The first point I pulled up too, I started off throwing a Bommer-A crank bait & on my 2nd. or 3rd. cast I nailed a 10.8 lb. LMB, IN SIX FEET OF WATER!!! WHO NEED'
S SWIM-BAIT'S <J/K... IF YOU WANT TO INCREASE YOUR CHANCE OF A DD FISH THEN GO WITH A SWIM-BAIT, I JUST GOT LUCKY!!I chucked that bommer for a good two hour's after nailing that PIG, The only other fish I caught on the Bommer was a 2 - 2.5 lb.Spot like I said "I JUST GOT LUCKY".So, I went back to Drop-Shotting using the Berkely P/M in 15-20' of water & caught three more Spot's before calling it a day. OH YAH, Kent Brown AKA K.B. I gotta give him a little credit for helping me stick that PIG, WHY ?? Well, the Bommer-A I caught that PIG on, was given to my son & I along with a bunch of other misc. tackle that my old friend Mr. B... no longer had garage space for, THANK'S BUD!!! & NO, YOU CANNOT HAVE IT BACK!!! ~MJB
City: Granite BayTips: Keep your line wet & good thing's will happen. Folsom has been very , very hard to pattern this Fall & Winter & without a good pattern it's tough to putt'em in the boat. Folsom will turn on & when it does I hope my line is in the water.... If a friend offer's tackle, take-it & use it, IT WORKED FOR ME!!!

Water Temp: 49-50
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished a half day with Dan today. Fished Coney island area and Victoria up to Hwy 4. Rain was coming down sideways in winds 15 mph +. (lying weatherman!). Dan still put us on fish almost immediately. 2-4 ft, suspending stickbaits/jerkbaits in shad patterns and med size willow leaf spinnerbaits did the trick. Seemed like the fish were balled up over/next to deeper grass, out of the main current following the shad as usual. Anywhere we could find a little cut in the weeds or similar ambush point, we found bass. Good size very chunky bass, lots of fun. Dan is very good at pointing out and explaining the subtleties of the river, i.e.- the 'Drive up Window' phenom. Attention to detail really made the day. Thx Dan!

Report: Never mind those bluegill, If you want to catch big stripers use a 12 inch largemouth. Use a 3/0 Tiemco SP600 or = and hook it just in front of the dorsal fin. I caught a 30 pounder the other day.
