Report: Went fishing today with Cooch. Bite was slow in the morning and we ended up fishing drop shot rigs and texas rigs with watermelon red baits. The biggest fish was probably 3# with most of them in the 1 - 1.5 range. If you want to learn to fish better weather you are experienced or a beginner Cooch is the man to call. He is a great guide and a fun dude to fish with. I would recomend the experience for anybody.
City: San Jose CaTips: When in doubt go to your special spot and grab your drop shot rod! Call Cooch!

Report: Launched out of Holland Tract Marina about 7:00 ran up to around Mildred Island. Started off with a Pop-R and had no takers. I then switched to a Craw Wiggle Wart and started to kill em. Caught about 20 fish all off the Wart. Best 5 went for 18 lbs.
City: LivermoreTips: Fish next to the shore around rip rap and target scattered tulles. It's important to fish shallow next to deep water. Windy sides are the best. Good luck.

Report: I fished the "red sea" with my wife today. We launched at 11:00AM and fished until 3:30PM. We focused on Buckingham, Glenhaven and Anderson Island. We caught and released 12 fish. Our best 5 went 4, 3, 2, 2, 1.5 for a total of 12.5. Not a huge limit for sure but fun nonetheless. Today the majority of the fish came in on the LV 500 and a couple (the big ones) were taken on the drop shot.
City: PetalumaTips: LV 500. The crankbait bite should be picking up nicely over the next few weeks.

Report: Don't fish tournaments, so, here is the scoop. South fork, underwater bridge at both ends. Good bite early, after nine you work. Four blacks(7 and a 5), the rest were spots four pounders, in the big limit. Caught many threes and only two small two pounders. In all about thirty keepers, limit around 25 lbs. How? oh I forgot, spoons. Good fishing, adjust your drag. Jimbo
City: SactoTips: Abrupt lifts (two-three feet or less) let the fish tell you how they like it. 10 pound Seagar flouro. Move around the bridge and immediate feeding area, they scatter a bit whem they pack up.

Report: My friend Steve and I hit the water around 3 pm and within an hour had picked up the first fish on a drop shot. Over the next three hours I managed 3 more on drop shot, 1 on darter head and 1 on a Chatterbait. Steve hooked up two nice 2.25 pounders split shotting and one small little guy on a carolina rig. We have several other hits but very soft. 9 fish total nothing real big but always fun just to get on the water.
City: LincolnTips: Most of the fish were caught in 20-25 feet except for the darter head which was around 4 ft and the Chatterbait which was about 10-15 ft.

Report: Took the grandsons fishing up the middle fork Sunday. Caught 22 fish between 8:00 and noon, most under the slot. Caught one over the slot..it went 2# 14oz. Had 4 more inside the slot for a limit just over 9 pounds. Three of our fish were smallies.
The best fish came on a darterhead with a 3 1/2" Yamamoto Kuttail worm in watermelon with gold flake. The big one came shallow on a steep wall. The rest of the slot-fish came on the drop on similar stuff. The small fish came deeper on dropshot worms. Grandsons had a blast.
City: Fair OaksTips: Two colors that worked best were watermelon with gold flake and smoke blue pearl.

Report: Another beautiful day on the lake...sunny, clear, and very little wind. Started the day with a bass on the first cast, a short distance from the dock, on a shad Risto Rap crankbait. Later, got two more on that lure and three on a white crankbait slow-rolled on the bottom in 15-20 feet of water. Not fast action, but enough to make a nice day on the water. John managed only two bass today, both on white spinner-baits slow-rolled on the bottom. All of our fish were between 1 and 2 1/2 lbs.
City: MontereyTips: Thermocline is at 32 feet. The lake had dropped another foot or so, and the bass seem to have pulled off the shore and are holding deeper. Try both shad crankbaits for the suspended fish (many showing on the depthfinder at about 12 feet), and slow-rolled spinnerbaits for those on the bottom to 25 feet deep.

Report: I usually do not post a bite at my local lake, but must let you all know that for the last 5 weeks the bite has been nothing but spectacular. Without any exageration, I have had trip after trip of 75-100 fish days. The BIG small mouth are being caught at a 1 to 5 rate for the largies. I am not going to say exactly how or where but will tell you to follow the birds and the bait. You can figure out the rest. Yes there are lots of smaller fish, but there are lots of 2 to 5 pound fish also. I have caught smallies up to 4.1 pounds and LM up to 5. All weighed on dig scales, photographed and released. I had my daughter up two weeks ago and she caught 3 limits dropshotting with her Barbie pole!!!!! What a blast. Just thought I would let you know.
City: lompocTips: Birds and bait. Also be mindful of the direction the wind blows. It changes the position of the bait and the bite!!!!!!!!!!!!

Report: Late report sorry....I took Shoreguy out first light on Saturday. I have not been fishing much ( work ) and I got my Lowrance back so I was ready to wet a line. I started out where I left them 5 weeks ago with essentially the same baits tied up. I brought " Don " up on the front deck and a topwater fish'n we went. Nothing to big to start and a few pulled under my buzzbait all small. I caught one under 2 pounds and Don had a number of smaller fish and we left for another round of top water. I had Don switch up to a Rico to see if they liked it better than his skiter pop. We went down the bank 100 yards with nothing and then I ( buzzbait ) and he ( Rico ) got a double on smallmouth. I don't know how many 12 inch smallmouth and largemouth there were but they were of the hook in a 300 yard stretch. Some better than others and they were plain missing stuff. I switched to the Luckey craft devils horse clone and caught and missed some of our better fish but it was a very strange bite. They would hit it if it wasn't moving much better than on any normal cadance or retrieve and they still would jump over your bait sometimes missing the bait three times while finally getting it or giving up when it was to close to the boat. I had to put Don on the dock at about 8:30 and we will get back out for more of my on the water instruction crash course on Calif. and Cachuma techniques later. I fuzted around all day catching fish on frogs at 2:30 in the afternoon with cranks and chatterbaits also working. I played with my spoon for three hours and actually caught spoon fish off the dropoffs but not of any size. I got off the water early.
City: Santa BarbaraTips: I didn't feel like fishing the proper way and did not throw a worm or a jig all day! The better fish are still offshore and I'm sure that that is the best way to approach the better largemouth right now. Fall is here but the fish are NOT in that fall crazy eat a rattle trap every third cast mode yet :) RIP

Report: Took my lady out to wet a few lines. We launch out of New Hope and headed for Sycramore slough. Caught a couple right off the bat. My lady hooked into a 3lber off a white senko.I caught a 4lber on a frog. After that a bunch of dinks.
City: sacramentoTips: Keep ya lines wet the fish seemed to be in a fall feeding frenzy. The big gals should be starting up soon. Frog bite is sweet in the morning!

Water Temp: 65
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Fished with a friend from Columbia cut to North Victoria. Caught lots of small fish on Chatterbaits going from 1 to 2 pounds. All the fish were on the outside edges of weed lines. Our better fish came flipping into hyacinth with a Senko rigged with a screw in Florida weight. Best fish went just under 4 pounds. Got several frog blowups but no hookups. Best five would have been about 12 pounds.
City: Fair OaksTips: Senko with a 1/2 oz screw in Florida rig weight goes through hyacinth easily. Spray the Senko with your favorite scent to give it extra lubrication for slipping through the thickest stuff.

Report: Did a pre-fish and tournament (Hook series) this weekend with Eric Thoss..Launched Saturday afternoon nad headed south for the areas around Holland..Fished the points around entrances to cuts and such, all on the slack and out going tide..Caught a few, largest around 5 but mostly non keepers..Lost the steering on the way back in, but was able to get it fixed while on the water ensuring we could get out the next day for the tourney..Launched Sunday morning for the tourney and headed south again, the tide was incoming when we arrived to our area and we once again started fishing the weed lines around points..The action was super slow, no takers for the first hour then as the tide changed and started back out we started getting some hits..Unfortunately for us those we did catch weren't that big or that many..Ended up weighing in just three fish..Had a great day on the water and enjoyed the tournament..There were a lot of dads entered with their kids, I think they all outfished us today..
City: San JoseTips: Caught fish on Beavers, Senkos, Speed Traps and spinner baits..Our keepers came on the Speed Trap (delta craw color) and Sweet Beavers (not sure of the color but it was some sort of bug)..The biggest weights for the tourney came (if honestly reported) from white chatter baits, jigs and drop shotting..
