      Water Temp: 75

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished the back of Cappell Cove. The bite was real slow. That section of the lake is about 12 feet deep maximum. I got a few dinks, but I think that the fish have moved out into the 15 to 20 foot range. It was a hot day with bluebird skies and I think they were probably hanging tight to deeper structure. You may have a shot in Cappell Cove in the very early morning, but I'm not going back in there until the catfish start rolling in mid summer.
      City: Vacaville

Tips: With the weather and water temp climbing, the bass are going to move deeper. I'll be jigging and cranking 6 to 8 foot deep shelfs near steep dropoffs. If it's cool enough in the morning, I'll give topwater a try, but I suspect that the topwater bite won't last long when the sun comes up. Green and purple shade senkos get bit at this lake.

      Water Temp: 68-70

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: 1pm launched out of hollands tract with my buddy sean. fished the tulles opposite from the docks with no luck. the wind was just killing us. couldn't get boat position. i had to fight with the trolling motor on full power and was still getting blown around. so we decided to find somewhere with calmer winds. lucky we did! between the two of us we must of caught over 15 fish, biggest one was a 7.75 that i caught next to some tulles. my personal best so far. i was so happy i missed sean's hi five. turned what was going to be a ok day to a great day.
      City: el sobrante

Tips: all fish caught on rattel traps

      Water Temp: 68-69 degrees

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Launed out of Russo's at sunrise and went to favorite spots on Franks Tract. My fishing buddy's 1st cast nailed a 3lb stripper that just straightened the wires on his spinnerbait and took forever to bend back into shape..The Gail force winds where extremely difficult to fish in..We then caught several small fish around tules with blades. Tried finding areas out of the wind which was impossible to do so off the water around 12:30pm.
I love the Delta but the wind really messes up the day.The perdicted wind for the day was 10-20 but it felt more like 40mph Gail winds..
      City: EDH

Tips: Don't fish when it's windy you will only regret it later..

      Water Temp: 68

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Launched out of paridise. Fished around king island and white slough. little mike nailed a 7lber on a rip bait first thing . As the wind increased the bite decreased. Beavers flipped as the boat roared by the tullies worked. Saw a fish or two on beds? Rattle traps nailed a couple of small keepers in the wind. No spinner bait bite?
      City: orangevale

Tips: Tough fishing in a gail. Big fish need slow presentation. Still the delta is a neat place.Should have checked the weather forcast for wind conditions.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished off Brown's Landing tucked in from the wind a little. Worked from 88 rock to the 3rd house. Drop shot with a 18 inch leader, got 12 in 2 hours.

      whee big fun

      Bluegill everywhere, bring the kids.

A full day of dual sport riding with friends and vintage midgets at Lakeport Speedway tomorrow.

Is this a fun place or what?!
      City: Oakland/Clearlake

      Water Temp: Warm

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Yesterday caught 7.6 lb female...spawned out. She fell for a lucky craft lipless bait in Chartruse Shad pattern. Beleive the theories about fishing the wind blown banks...it's all true. Today, caught 8 fish out of the same hole...same bait and same theory. All 1-3.5 lbs.
      City: Antioch

Tips: Anything shad pattern and target the windy banks...shad are following the algae...bass are right behind 'em. Also, baby Bass pattern cranks should work as I snagged Bass frye about 1/4" in lenght...3 times. Bass have definately reached "post spawn" mode...in fact, no bed fish anywhere. GOOD FISHIN' !

      Water Temp: 71-76

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished till 11:30AM. Most fish to 4 lbs were caught on Normans "deep little N" crankbaits. (In baby bass color). A few smaller fish were caught using Rico

Tips: Cranking grasslines on main and secondary points were most productive for me.

      Water Temp: 60's

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Took to young men (15&17)out for a day that had never fished before, caught 3 fish each in about 30 min. let them keep the largest 2 for home. Anyway they had the time of their lives. Spots seemed to hit on pretty much whatever got tossed at them.
      City: Cottonwood

Tips: Fish are about 10 -20' off the banks and sitting on the egde of the coves. Have a ball !!

      Water Temp: 64

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Finally! Back on the lake today with a client from LaLa Land. Showed up at the ramp at 5:30 to find that the lake had dropped about 4' since I saw it last. Oh Oh! We all know what happens when the water starts dropping. The fish disappear. Based on what I've figured out the last few years, I could see that a big change of plans was in order. As near as I can tell, when the lake comes up a foot the fish move right on up with it. When it drops a foot the fish drop 20'. OK, I know an area that has been holding a ton of good smallies, so let's try those willows nearby, which are in 20' of water and see if my theory is correct. I really like throwing topwater early this time of year, so I hand my client a spook. After tossing around the willows a few times with no takers, I give him a gitzit and it stops dropping about 5' down, in 20' of water. SET HOOK! 4.5 smallie. Next cast, gitzit makes it down maybe 15' SET HOOK! 5.5 LM Whew! Mission accomplished. Guide can relax the rest of the day. Next stop 4+ smallie on a speed trap, plus a couple more quality smallies on the gitzit. Wow! almost 20 lbs in the boat and it's going to be 7:00 AM in a few minutes. The fishing stayed pretty good the rest of the day although I'm not sure we would have culled any of those first 5, we came close with several of the 20 or so we caught the rest of the day. I felt that the rain-drizzle that went on most of the morning, probably mitigated the falling water scenario, but the fish continued to bite even after the sun came out.

Tips: For those of you who are fishing the ABA tourney next weekend, kindly forget everything you have read in this report. See you there.

      Water Temp: 65

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Got on the water about 5:45 AM and went north. My partner lost one that would have gone 3 or better on top water right off the bat. I was soon to follow in his foot steps. I lost one that would have gone 3-4 on a buzz bait. We had at least 7 fish before 7:00 AM on top water, but just could not seal the deal bringing them to the boat. Top water died then we went cranking for the big one's and the big ones we found. I immediately picked up a 3 lber in 20 feet of water of a main body point. From there on the bite for us was wide open for about 2 hours on crank baits. I lost 2 big fish right in a row while my partner was scrambling around looking for the net. The first one was 5+ easy lost her right at the boat. The next one was 7+ easy lost her when she decided to do the air show. She came out of the water at least 3 feet in the air me and my partner both had the same response when we seen her "dude that's a frigen big fish" right when we said that she spit my crank bait damn near right back at me. So the day ended good for us even though we lost several big fish I am happy knowing that what I was throwing was producing quality fish.
      City: Roseville

Tips: Keep your rod tip down when you are cranking in the big one's off top water and crank baits.

      Water Temp: 68-70

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Caught and released several 1's and 2's in 5-15 feet of water over grass in coves. All on small white crankbait.
      City: Santa Clara

Tips: I think you can always get Anderson bass on plastics but I enjoy throwing crankbaits this time of year. Stop and go action works best for me. Competed with skiers in upper north end today where they were violating the 5 mph speed limit in only 15 feet of water. Guess the main lake was too windy and choppy. Hmmm?

I dont fish here often but Big Break is awesome. I cought all those fish on one weed bed just out side the marina (almost in the middle). Good fishing!
