      Water Temp: 64-65

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished from 7AM-11:30. All on the South shore coves. Caught six. Five on beds with a variety of lures. Chatterbait, Fluke, jigs, tubes. Two 3#, the rest were small males 1.5#. Best five only 11.5#, but a good effort will get you bigger fish. I had one on but was just could not close the deal. They're up.
      City: Ione

Tips: Go to a cove with clear water. Use markers to mark the bed and move to the next. After you have a few marked go back to the best looking fish, approach from an angle with the best view and go to work. Have light and dark lures tied on. The fish don't care about color. I used white jigs chartruse tubes, silver chatterbait. If it's a little windy use an anchor, and wait for a breakin the chop some times you have to go by feel. Good luck and always release your bed fish!

      Water Temp: 62-65

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: I took a client today who wanted to learn good fishing spots in this gem of a lake. We started off about 7:30 am with topwater - first time this year. I got the first one - a 2 1/2 lb spotted bass. After a few more, we looked in a cove on the east side and found a bed fish, about 4 lbs. I showed him how to get the fish to take a white jig. She did not want to cooperate very quickly, though we could have caught her had we stayed longer. The water is still quite murky and so the bite hasn't really turned on yet. We threw Senkos #221 Senkos in flooded trees and caught a few, nothing real big however. We wound up with 8 or 9 bass - nothing over 2 1/2 lbs.
      City: Yuba City

Tips: Collins should bust open in a few days as the water clears and warms a bit more. Senkos are deadly in the trees as well as spinnerbaits. The east side warms more quickly as it gets more afternoon sun. Don't forget topwater - I was using a shad colored Lucky Craft Sammy.

      Water Temp: 54 - 59

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Went fishing with my partner today. Got on the water around 9:30 AM. My partner boated the first fish about 10 minutes into fishing on a Senko. From then on the bite was wide open. My partner threw his Senko and I threw reaction bait all day. In all best five fish went about 16 LBS. The bite is on FIRE right now guys if you get a chance get out there before all the pleasure boaters began to flood the lake.
      City: Roseville

Tips: Stay back from the bank a good distance and make long cast's. Fish main body structure.

      Water Temp: 60-65

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Just got back from a 4 day trip. Seven of us total and we caught approx 500 bass. The biggest was 4.5 lbs. Most fish were caught on senko's. Clear with red and black flake, green with red and green flakes, and amber red flake. Few were caught on spinner baits, including the 4.5. No debri, water was warmer in different parts of the lake. Lots were keepers and lots were 14.5 inches! Wish I could go back today!!!
      City: Rough and Ready

Tips: I would use senko's and spinnerbaits in white. Find the rocks either in coves or on the main body.

Report: Caught a lot of bass today.Fishing was best in the AM when the sun was blocked by fog. Couple of 4lbers and a whole bunch of smaller ones, little over 50 fish. Also caught a 5lb brown trout swimming with the bass and saw many other very large trout. Few crappie today. Fish were anywhere from 0 down to 30 feet .
Some coves the bass are starting to bed and in others they are cruzing around or schooling the shad.
      City: manteca

Tips: Drop shot robo/magics in prism shad and greenies. Rip bait worked in the morning. Tried chrt panfish tubes but not as many bites today.

Report: Took my wife fishing. She loves to throw grubs and did she haave a great time. We caught over 50 nice bass. Started off with the steak special at the blueberry twist. Great way to start the day with a full belly. Hit the middle and south fork.Fished points and rocky banks. Could have ripped but wanted the wife to do her thing. We would have caught more but ran out of the good grubs. They had a lot of blue and red sparkley stuff in them. Fisherman's had them in one of there tubs. Not a brand name but you could catch 10 fish on each one. Lake is beautiful with all the water in it.
      City: orangevale

Tips: Bite is wide open. Bring lots of dart heads and grubs. Fish till your thumbs bleed and the stop.

      Water Temp: 56

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Water still a bit cloudy.
Saw a few 8-10 bass on patrol, then a few more guarding nests, somewhat standoffish, I got a few to strike at a black and red flake baby brushhog. Got one biteon a spinner bait that I was working too fast.

Saw a bass that was over 17" long and close to 12-15lbs, massive with a 2lb male? as an escort, followed the spinner I was hoping to land a hawg, biut no luck. I'm thinking the next few weeks water will be warmer, agression will be up big spawn should come in 2 weeks or so, there are lots of bass fry from a early spawn.

Please dont litter out ther, pick up your line and cross cut it, birds dont do well with 15lb mono.
      City: Walnut Creek

Tips: Try to educate those who are keeping hte bass a 12 inch bass is aproximately 2 years old, the future of this fishery is endangered every time more fish are kept. LIM the bridge troll is fishing 5 days a week and taking 5 Plus fish, Collete at the Kiosk told me rangers caught him after he cleaned over 15 bass. Guys he is keeping dinks to 3-5lber fish. I'm thinking boycot the arroyos, we pay $4 to fiush where they dont stock S***, why?

Been goign to the delta, trickier but the fish are quality.

CATCH AND RELEASE! Buy fish at Costco!

Report: Had one client today and one awsome time on the water. I headed North this morning in helping define patterns and how the fish relate to certain banks this time of year. I showed in how to meter breaks and in how important it is NOT to overlook them, creek channels even if their small.
We found the fish in 2ft to 5ft on the eastside. We caught 20 fish, with 15 keepers to 2+ lbs. Mixed bag of Smallies and Largemouth, few small spots. We caught them with senkos. Slow slow slow. After I explained, where the fish migrate from, we headed to the center of the Westside, rockpiles, we caught them there too but a tad deeper, mixed bag here too of smallies and largemouth, 1 spot. Caught them with a tip-up jig head using the new Roboworm Sour puss. From here I head to the south side of big island and found largemouth shallow, we caught approximately 10 more 5-7ft related to clumps of grass. Biggiest about 2 1/2lbs. I showed him a long extended point and in how to fish it with swimbaits. Low and behold I hook a 8+, she does a missile shot and comes flying out of the water with the swimbait in her mouth and spits it out at me. She wasn't very nice, most of been the wrong flavor. She caught me with my rod tip to high and I couldn't swing on her. Accomplishment: I made a believer with the client about swimbaits on Berryessa and in the approach to points. We ended the day laugh'in about that fish. She Won that one. Rich Thiel GS (707)374-1446

Report: Caught three all split shotting, a couple of two pounders and a dink (two shallow and one right under the boat at 13 feet). Fishing main lake island tops. Saw a lot of fish cruising shallow and they were skittish but didn't actually see anything that looked like beds and the ones I caught had tails in good shape. Tried some of the deeper breaks, but no luck there.
      City: Elk Grove

Tips: Fish haven't seen weather this good or water this clear for a while. Try to stay out deeper and work to the shallow, if they see you its over (for now any way).

Report: Bed fish are starting to show and senko's and dart head grubs are the baits too use here. watermelon or crawdad colors are working best for baas to 4 pounds. there was a small tourny there saturday that produced four bass of 6.22 7.07 8.08 and 9.45 some nice fish also there was another 8 pounder on a spinnerbait earlier in the week. water level is high and with warmer weather on the way top water should break loose here any time flakes are a good choice to throw as the weather starts to warm. raffic is lite during the week and heavier on the weekends watch for snake if your bank fishing.

Report: Arrived on the lake at 0600. Spanked them on a Chartreuse Spinnerbait with a silver blade. Caught 12 fish in the first 90 minutes, with most fish between 2-3 lbs. All fish hit the Spinnerbait withn 6 feet of the bank...awesome!!! Fished along the western wall of Ski Cove. After 0800, switched to a smoke/chartreuse Bass Addict worm/Texas rigged and fished all the way around ski cove and caught another 10 bass over the next 2 hours. Most were spots, and fat. I didn't leave Ski cove until 1000!...Also fished cottonwood creek, and caught 3 more on a white/silver spinnerbait, 3 more on topwater, and a few more sized on lizards and smoke and cotton candy Bass Addict worms, the avg weight of all the bass were 2-3 lbs...my friend Anthony Tonachion told me about these types of days in the past, and it happened today!!!
