      Water Temp: 54-56

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished Friday with Jim Malm out of Wimpy's, spent the first part of the morning back in the narrow slough to the right of the marina (low tide). Headed down to Beaver and found some small black bass with senkos, stripers with a rip bait. Moved down to the Hwy 12 bridge and found more bass and a 3 lb striper.
Went out Saturday out of Pardise Point in the fog and light winds. Found in the back sloughs some nice bass upto 3.0 lbs and about 10 dinks, 4 stripers with a Green Pumkin Senko. Riped a 4" black/silver bait, picked up small stripers and black bass. Super Brush Hog and Brown/Purple JK jigs with a Sweet Beaver trailer. The North winds came in around 11am and turned off most of the fishing.
      City: rocklin

Tips: Rip, crank and finess slow, replace your hooks with better ones. Red hooks are good too. (bleeders)

      Water Temp: 59

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Just got back from a 2 week vacation where I didn't touch a rod. Went out on Thursday (3 of us) and Friday (2 of us).

On Thursday, we fished Beaver, Hog, and Sycamore -- caught 5 stripers (7-9 lbs), 4 salmon (11-14 lbs), and 3 bass (1.5-2.5 lbs). Salmon were real fighters -- lost 2 salmon that jumped a least 2 ft in the air and threw the lure back at us. I lost another salmon that swam around the boat and rubbed line on a submerged structure and line broke.

On Friday, we fished Disappointment -- caught 6 stripers (3-7 lbs) and 12 bass (largest 3.5 lbs -- best 5: 12 lbs). Caught a lot of shaker size stripers on both days.
      City: Dixon

Tips: We used 3/4 oz Rat L Traps (w/upgraded owner 4x hooks) about 90% of the time. All of the traps were either the chrome w/blue back or the chrome blue bleeding shad. Definitely need to make sure you upgrade the hooks -- the salmon can straighten out the factory hooks during their struggle. Be alert at all times, we caught several stripers and salmon that hit the lure within 5 ft of the boat.

Report: Just to add to my last report, i RELEASED MY 8LB BASS BACK INTO THE WATER AFTER THE PHOTOS, i had forgot to mention that in my previous report, i had the fish back in the water in less then a minute. She swam off vigorously and in good condition.

      Water Temp: mid 60's

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: fished for a couple hours in afternoon, lake is real low, i was lucky enough to catch an 8.2 bass on a brown jig, and pig near the narrows. Only bite i got, (see pix in photo posts, sorry for the botched 3-4 attempts, before i got it right. I fished from shore, throwing crank baits, and of course the jig n pig.
      City: Hayward

Tips: Lake real low, good time to view the exposed breaks, and dropoffs, etc. I took pictures for future use when the lake fills in the spring. My fish bit in deep water off steep shoreline, throw crankbaits, jerk baits, and jigs.

      Water Temp: unknown

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished last Friday and Saturday at Oroville with my young son and his grandpa. Day one was anything but good for us. The five fish we did catch were all quality fish, however; so it wasn't a total lost cause. Fish came on drop shot. Fished all main lake. It clearly was not a good bite for us. Day two was much, much, better. Caught in excess of 20 keepers with (4) over the slot (1 went 3.1 lbs). These fish were caught on drop shot and brass-n-glass and splitshotting. Upgraded the bait size and moved off the main lake down the northern arm and fished steep clay banks that dropped off quickly. All our bigger fish came in the deeper 40-60 foot range. Son landed a nice 2lb on a dart head right at the boat when reeling in which brought a huge smile to all on board. Bite totally shut down around noon.
      City: brentwood

Tips: Bigger baits and sheer clay banks made all the difference. Used a variety of baits, including; brushhogs, aarons magic, and bold bluegill, all worked fairly well on day two. Wish we could have stayed one more day as I passed this information to my nephews who went out on Sunday and they absolutely hammered the fish up until 1:00 PM. Weather made the slow times much more enjoyable.

      Water Temp: ?

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Was out today prefishing for a local club tournament. I caught alot of small spots dropshotting (of course), but quickly turned away because I am trying to find what the bigger fish are biting. I used some hula grubs in salt and pepper on 1/2 oz football jighead and caught the bigger ones around 20ft. I started to swim the jig around bluff banks and did well. However the biggest fish of the day came on a half oz. brown jig with a matching #11 pork frog. I was pitching the jig into cracks in bluff banks and hopping it sharply. Caught many swimming that jig too. Caught the smaller fish in about 45-60ft. Nothing over 15" today however I lost two fish that definintly would have pushed 16".
      City: Paradise

Tips: Small 3" salt and pepper worms on dropshot. Work jigs with 2 foot hops. When you reel in the jig for another cast dont reel in fast, slowly swim the bait back, lots of big fish will hit it coming back, keep rod tip around 1oclock and when swiming the jig back and you get hit drop rod tip and then swing.

      Water Temp: Don't know

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I turned forty on this day and decided to give this lake one more try before winter. It drizzled all day, and when I arrived @ the lake around 1:30 there wasn't a soul around. Naturally I fished hard, nothing. Then around 6ish San Pablo's staff yelled 10 minutes till closing. On my last cast just as I was about to go .....Bam it hit, just as my lure was almost fully retrieved. I was careful not to reel in too fast and as the bass gave up the fight when I saw the size as it was on its side...... this was the biggest bass I had ever personally seen let alone caught. Anyways I ran as fast as I could yelling at the store-guy to re-open the store and weigh this catch of my life time....Of course he said no, after much begging also letting him know that it was my birthday...my 40th, he did, and this baby was 14 lbs 8oz. Considering I have gotten ridiculed and skunked many times by my competing friends, this was the fish of a life time. I got the last laugh..... thank Jesus!!!

Tips: Develop stamina and keep the faith. Fish Slow then Slow down finally go slower.

Report: John Coyle, my good friend, teacher and former owner of mgm lures is in the hospital(again). His health is not good but his spirits are high. He would be thrilled to get a visit from any folks who used to come into his store and lie about all the big fish they caught.

      Water Temp: 50 F - 55 F

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Same pattern as yesterday, except that the bass were bigger and in shallower water. Hooked six, landed five for a total weight of about 20#. The bass are definitely oriented toward feeding on crayfish.
      City: Santa Rosa

Tips: Go fishing NOW! The good weather will not hold for long and the fish are truly committed to feeding! This may be the last nice-weather weekend of the year, so live while you're alive! There's no chance that you'll do what I do, so I feel no pressure to lie. The fish are biting NOW!
Go for it! Get out here!!!

Report: I met Gary in a pub in Cupertino the day after he caught the 16.8. He showed me 4 pictures of the hog. The best and biggest bass I've ever seen! He was with his friend and I have to say that these guys were totally cool people. They knew what they were talking about and obviously knew what they were doing to catch such a huge lunker. Gary, I'll say it again...well done man! Thanks for showing me the pics.
      City: San Jose

Tips: I'm not going to give away Gary's secret, but I will say the bigger the bait, the bigger the fish!
