California Delta

Water Temp: 58-60
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Black bass are still biting, I was the extra boater in a tourament out of Russo's. 15 clubs, 5 of the top boaters and non-boaters from each club had a day to see who was the best of the West. The day started out with a light rain and a lots of clouds with light winds. After blast off I found some water running out of Frank's tracks with tules and rocks. No body was around so I used a speed trap in sliver/blue getting four nice bass with one keeper. spinners did ok, Rattle Traps ok. As the tide moved out so did I, cranking and draging. As the tide started back in I looked for fast moving water around eddies, points with rocks. texas rigging a brush hog was the way to go for me, finding 30 plus bass and 10 keeper my best was 10.25 lbs. Not near my best, but a fun day in the Delta. I left at 2:30 before the tourament boaters came in.
City: RocklinTips: find moving waters, tules and rocks. Around docks, pipes and inside pockets.

Diamond Valley Lake
-
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Started out tough, tough, tough! I was finally able to find some biters dropshotting. I got a limit, fish between 2-1/2 and 3-1/2 pounds. Work hard, stick to the 30 foot depth range, and you'll get some to bite.
-
-
Soulajule Lake
-
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Fishing hasn't been good the last couple of times out. There were a few undersized dinks caught using live crawlers. Tried cranks, spiners, and topwater with no success.
To sum it all up, I can tell you from experiance that this is a good place to catch lots of tics, and great for sprain ankles. I don't know why anyone would waste there time here. I'm not sure why I even come back to this place! But, if you enjoy brousing through a dumping ground, enjoy hiking through cow shit, and looking at garbage, then this is the place to be. There's no shortage of pigs here. Tell a friend!!
City: BolinisTips: Not recommended...It wont be long before this place gets closed off to the public..

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: I just got a call from fw and they now have heard of the fish, although still no photo. Congrats to whoever caught it if it is legit. The previous (very unofficial) record was 16.1 pounds, so this would be the new lake record!
Tips: Waiting to see the photo.

Oroville Lake
-
Water Temp: 67
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: I guided a good fisherman new to the Oroville area on what now is his "home" lake - beautiful Lake Oroville! WOW, what a shock. The last time I guided there - on a Friday - I had to park 5 rows away from the ramp 'cause of an upcoming tournament. Yesterday, I was the ONLY rig in the lot. Yes - it rained all day. Wimps, all of you, har!! It rained on my brand new Ranger 520 - got the carpet all wet - imagine that! Actually, there was one rig parked at the end of the ramp when we came in. And yes - we didn't see a boat all day!!! The fishing was reasonably good too. We caught 21 bass total - one spot at 16 1/2 inches (2 lbs 7 oz), one at 15 1/4, and one at 14 and 99/100's, har! All of our spots were 13 inches or over and were caught from 30 to 55 feet. Split-shotting seemed to be the ticket for the day. I drop-shotted a lot, but that didn't see to work. I did it 'til I caught one!!! Topwater, reaction, nothing else worked. No jig fish either. We used Camanche Jack worms in purple ghost color and Yamamoto Kut Tails in a salt and pepper color. We spent a lot of time looking and metering all over the north fork, so we didn't fish the whole time. I think he will like his new lake since he caught 12 of our bass and one of the "over 15's!
City: Yuba CityTips: We found bass in weird places - kind of near the sides of slowly tapering points. Walls did produce some fish and points did produce some. But somewhere between the outer part of a wall (main body) to the first point heading into a cove seemed to hold a lot of fish - if that makes any sense. Almost seemed they were moving in and out of the mouths of coves. Whatever they were doing, they were eating pond smelt. I know - they were all over the side of my new boat!!!!

Water Temp: 61-64
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: The bite is slow right now but you can catch fish if you slow down and use the right bait. Caught 12 on tuesday and 11 on thursday. Majority of the fish were caught on 3.5 inch green pumpkin tubes on 1/8th ounce wieght between 0-15 feet. Caught a few on flukes but couldn't get bit on topwater or cranks. Fish rocky ares with weeds and you should be able to get a few. Bite gets better in the afternoon as the water warms the wind pick up a little. Good Luck

Report: I just called the ranger office and they're predicting that the ramp will be closed Thursday night.
I also talked to the guys at fisherman's warehouse and no one there has heard of the 16 pounder. Sounds like a hoax to me so far. -

Water Temp: 65-68
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Fished the lake today from 7 to 12 and caught our best fish using blades, crankbaits, and 10 inch worms. Best action was in 5-12 ft. of water along the western rocky shores. Best five went 19.6 The lake has gone down a lot since last week. The weeds are gone, and the campgrounds are almost completey gone.
City: SalinasTips: 1/2oz fatfree shad in firetiger,1/2oz revenge blade in shad, and power worm in red shad. Have fun out there

Pardee Lake
-
Water Temp: 68
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: I went to Pardee with a good friend of mine to look over the lake - starting about 10:30 am, try some fall fishing, and show off my new Ranger 520 w/Evinrude 225 E-TEC. Wow, what a combo! I found out after I arrived that the lake had dropped about 5 feet or so in the last week after being steady all summer. Needless to say, the fish were all deep and large bass were not interested in eating anything we presented. The weather hurt us also - cloud cover cleared and north wind came up - stopped - and then south wind again as another front moved in. In spite of those excuses, we did catch 22 bass from 5 inches to a 2 lb smallie. We did fish pretty hard, but did a lot of looking around and metering. I am learning the ropes with my new Lowrance X-26 with GPS. We spotted some nice school of big fish in very deep water, but try as we did, they would not bite. Lots of action made the day enjoyable and the bite did pick up just before we had to go in at dark.
City: Yuba CityTips: Reaction baits did not work at all. I did catch a keeper largemouth on a Rodstrainer jig. Split-shotting and drop-shotting worked well when we found fish on the meter. The upper river arm didn't produce at all, but main body and lower river arm had lots of fish and we caught a bunch of 'em. Fished some excellent off-shore structure, but didn't get many bites in those areas. Walls with shadows produced well. Until '06, good luck at the other lakes with those winter bass!!!

City: S.L.Tips: Find the rocks and find the bass. Small baits slow should work.

Berryessa Lake

Water Temp: 67
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Subject : Fishing with Sid
| | | Inbox
Fishing at Lake Berryessa was grrrrreat this past weekend!!! The weather was perfect, the water was calm and clear and the fish were co-operating. My wife and I went to the vineyards on Friday and wormed for bass in shallow water we had a very successful time. Saturday we decided to troll for awhile towards the ranch house. We hit two large salmon and a couple of trout on the surface then my wife landed a 6+ lb bass. (see photos) Saturday evening I took out Kevin and Steve to show them how to catch bass trolling. In twenty minutes they caught four bass so we headed back in before it got to dark. Sunday morning I met them and we went out for an early bite. Once again trolling was successful. Fish are breaking all over the lake. Sunday early afternoon I took my wife out and we caught a few bass and salmon then my wife got a huge hit and landed what we first thought was a catfish but turned out to be a monster squawfish also known as sacramento pike. This weighed in at 12 lbs and she used 6 lb P-line and it gave her quite a fight. At least there is one less squawfish in the lake now. Whenever you catch a squawfish you should destroy it and leave it on shore for the birds or take it home just never put it back in the water because it is a predator and feeds on the other fish. All in all this was a perfect fishing weekend.............'til next week........good fishing!!!! www.fishingconnection.net

Water Temp: 66 - 67 F

Report: Fished Berryessa on Sunday afternoon. No action for 1st 2 hours. Finally found shallower area with weeds & caught 8 fish on reaction baits. But, they were all small. Caught bluegill on darterhead. Saw fish busting shad but no action or spook or ripbait. Talked to some guys who said they caught a lot of fish in early AM on soft plastics on main lake points.
Tips: For fun fishing, go someplace else. This lake is tough in the fall!
