Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Got on the water at 4:30. Fished until 7:30. Caught 6 bass with the largest 2lbs. Caught 2 flipping wood with a ceature bait and took 4 on a carolina brush hog. Fish were in 10-15 ft deep outside edge of the weed line or where bottom drops into deeper water. One fish caught on a shallow point.
City: Foster CityTips: Too many boats to fish the middle of the day. Fish didn't bite until 6:00 and later. Fish were off the bank. Only caught fish on soft plastic. Nothing on spinner or jerk bait but didn't spend much time trying.

Water Temp: mid 70's
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Launched out of Paradise this morning at 6:30A with my cousin. Fished Disappointment. Caught close to 20 keeper size bass and tons of little ones. My cousin caught the largest bass (6.3 lbs). 9 bass were between 2-3 lbs. Best 5 was around 17+ lbs. Majority of bass were close to tules in the weed cover. Larger bass caught on Rat L Traps over weedbeds.
City: DixonTips: White or char/white spinnerbaits. Shad colored Rat L Traps.

Water Temp: 70's
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Like Larry, I fished last thursday and between Brandon and myself, landed 15 or so by noon. Most of them dropshotting as frogs/jigs, crankbaits were unproductive. I was semi-humbled as we didnt see a fish over 2.5lbs at all that day. Even the daylight frog bit only produced one 2lb fish.
Today(8/30) N wind blowing 35 when I left YC. Weather.com said clearlake wind would only hit 9 mph-----------true till 1 pm when I heard it howling and blowing the top of the water off. I started about 9:30 and cranked a 3 by redbud. caught several on a jig and 3 or so dropshotting. Then I tried a rocky stretch north of the concrete boathouse and banged 3 more on the jig to 3 lbs. Always have one %$#* up when I skipped the jig under the dock and had a bad over run. Fixed that to find my line swimming off(45 seconds later). Set the hook and felt meat then water. Checked my jig and the hook was bent 45 degrees! DOH! New jig and managed one more. 1pm and the wind became totally insane. Decided to tuck into thick wood where I flipped 3 more till wind subsided to 20 mph or so. Cranked a 3 on a dd22 and had another good one on before I had to leave to get to the babysitter by 5pm!
City: Yuba CityTips: Dang, I love this place. Talked to a fellow the moved from Oregon to lower lake after he retired. I may have to do the same some day. I have to agree that the bite is not red hot like it was a month ago. They are still biting, but you have to be on the right stuff using something that they have an interest in.

Water Temp: 78
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: I fished with a good friend last Thursday and found the fishing to be a bit slow - probably because of a cold front. I showed him a rockpile that I don't think he knew about and he promptly nailed a 5 1/2 pounder. Neat!! He also later caught a 4 1/4 - both on Yamamoto Kreature baits. We caught 24 bass for an 18 lb limit - just couldn't get any more good ones. Crankbaits were working also. Today I guided a husband-wife team that was fairly new to bass fishing. We caught 28 (18 1/4 lb limit) and they caught lots of quality bass up to 3 1/2 lbs, mostly on Yamamtoto Kreatures (301 and 213 colors) and Dead Ringers in various colors. I was using a black 10" power worm much of the time and it did produce some quality bass up to 4 1/2 lbs. The wife and I each lost a big bass - for whatever reason. What a shame!! They did loose a lot of bass in the begining until they learned what "set the hook" really meant! No problems after that! A great day - lots of action!
City: Yuba CityTips: It seems that the bass are a bit reluctant to hit until the sun hits the slime on the water, at least lately. The bite today around 9 to 11 am was excellent!! I have been targeting rockpiles, ledges, and deep shoreline dropoffs. I even caught a few on Weapon jigs. I tried frogs down south without a single blowup. Maybe next time!

Water Temp: 78 - 80
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: One of the best trips ever! I caught over 33 fish on Monday and 29 on Tuesday including a 7lb 10 oz (RELEASED EVERYONE!). Monday was windy and no top water. Started cranking and just caught good quality fish in the 1-2lb range. Everytime I got hit I thought I had a 3lb'er they hit so aggressive. No big fish Monday but lots of them. Off the water around 1pm because of the wind. Drove up to Lakeport to see if the wind was less and fished the evening again with no top water. Lost a 6lb'er drop shotting a piling (he turned the wrong way!). Tuesday was a repeat but got a 4lb 9 oz on a crank bait. Got the 7+lb on a a drop shot close to 4pm. That one made the trip worth while. Seemed like I had the whole lake to myself. Only saw a dozen fishing boats both days. Forget the weekends, going to take days off from work for now on! If you don't love this lake, something is wrong with you.
City: Sunnyvale, CATips: 75% caught with white speed traps and white and blue w/red bleed marks for rattle traps. I looked for sparse weed bed and "weaved" (turn rod from left to right to change angle of movement) the lure from hole to hole among the weed patches. All of the nicer fish came drop shotting my secret green weenie 6" worm. Size up on line. I lost several good fish with 12lb flourocarbon line and couldn't stop them around pilings. 20lb power pro worked well!

Water Temp: 65-70
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: THIS IS A REPORT FOR LAKE NATOMA!!!!!
Went down to Lake Natoma w/ my friend Brian Whitney to see if the fish have got going down there. Cranked, bladed, ripped, but ended up getting the most bites on a dropshot. I missed several bites as did Brian, but he did stick a 4.7 lb. "mule" Smally that had 3 or 4 other fish with her that were as big or bigger. Stayed around that area for a while, but moved around to find the water high, but not moving much. When that happens at Natoma, it is like slack tide on the Delta, NO BITES!!
City: RosevilleTips: Just move from tree to tree and find the fish. Every piece of wood had a fish in or on it. Dropshot or darthead the usual plastics.

Water Temp: 73
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Was able to fit in a day of fishing on Sunday. Started around 6am on white slough. Caught a 2.5lber on first cast with spinner then caught a few stripers in the next hour on prop bait. Lots of boat traffic and a very low tide. Moved around to different areas waiting for tide to come in and caught a few more bass in the 2lb range on spinner and crank. Did not run into any good action until around 1:30pm. Caught a few more stripers, some crappie, and a good bunch of bass of mostly small size but still fun on light line before it got way too hot. Limit at around 13lbs.
City: stocktonTips: Fished mainly weedlines for most of day because of low tide. Watch for stripers and black bass chasing the little fish. Black bass were schooling in some areas and were very aggressive. Used spinner, crank, prop, and a small beetle jigspinner.

Water Temp: 78-82
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Broke away for a weekend blast at rattlesnake island! 21 fish in 2 half days of fishing!Mostly dinks-about a pound, biggest 3.25. Early morning shallow by tules-as the heat progressed, fish 12-15 feet. In the morning the bites were fair on 4-5 inch magic worms in arrons magic or something simular. After 11a.m. the dinks got picky!!!! I missed over 50 fish due to lack of hooksetting ability. More than once I had fish pick up my bait and spit it out immediately. I had one hit it 9, yes 9 times before I set the hook and still lost him. Yes I used all different types of rods and tackle to find the"RIGHT FIT".Never could find the right combination. Tried to fish for larger fish in deeper water with varies techniques, but no luck. As usual metered tons of activity. Oh well kind of brain dead from all of the sun and beers. See ya!
City: antelopeTips: Some areas are starting the "Pea soup" mode. I swear the water seemed to get twice as green between Saturday and Sunday. No real news just a F.Y.I.

City: Alta Loma Ca.Tips: Get out early and enjoy a wonderfull morning, as the bass dance to the sun rise.

Water Temp: 75-78
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Jim Ryan and I got on the water @ 6am with five other fisherman. Nice morning for some big bass. We started out with some top water, none. Cranking, spinners and draging some lizards, worms and even a big bouger long green thing. Just fot some taps and one bass that was smaller than my worm. We found some fish on humps and bait fish too. They must be full of bait or ?
Yesterday went to Negro Bay and fished the Willow Creek, no boaters, fisherman. Found bass all morning in the tules, rocks on the inner coves. The river is 55 deg and back in the cove it was 67 deg. Good place to get away from all the bussy lakes and some good fishing to.
City: rocklinTips: no tips no fish ? whats up?

Sonoma Lake

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fishing at Sonoma is tough. On the water at 630 Sunday no fog and already bright out. Ran up to the north end and stated fishing main body points and submerged trees. One 1.5 smallie on 4 inch black worm texas style. Lots of fish on the scope from 12 to 25 ft but not taking anything. Tried worms - spinner and rattle traps. Someone give me the secret to this lake? Once again the marina ramp was a nightmare. People docking and leaving their boats for hours - others learning how to use a jet ski and tons of ski boating kids trying to launch. Took an hour to get to the dock. No more weekend trips here for me.
City: Rohnert ParkTips: Yeah I can use some - my best tip is get out early and leave by 10 am to avoid the zoo at the ramp.
