Water Temp: 72
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: My irst time ishing this lake and could not produce a single strike... not that I'm a great isherman, but are there any bass in this lake? Stayed at Steele Park and ished primarily in that vicinity. The terrain there is a hell o a lot dierent than that o the Delta (the water at Berryessa is beautiul). Spotted baitish in the morning so I ished topwater, nothing. I switched over to everything else in my tacklebox ater that, nothing. Went back to the cabin and took a nap. As I checked out, I asked the lady at the oice i there were any ish in the lake, she replied by saying, "Some, but you have to know them on a irst name basis." I told her that I called them every stinkin' name in the book! We both laughed... Though I got skunked, just being out on the water on a perect day and getting your line wet is all anyone could ask or.

He also picked up two more that were about 1-2 pounds a piece. He caught a couple brush guppies also. My only keeper was a 2 lb. smallmouth my other ish was a dink. All o the nice ish were caught on 4inch plastics in various colors. Some good ish are also being caught on topwaters in the morning an evening and when it is overcast. The water is deinately cooling o and the pods o shad are roaming the surace water again. On Friday night 9/26 may cousin caughta nice ish on a topwter as did my uncle. I was skunked Friday. Oh well the ishing is deinately picking up.
City: NapaTips: 4 inch plastics and topwaters are a good bet.

Report: My partner and I went up on Saturday and preished or the up coming NewBass TOC. Haven't been up to the lake since last year. Got on the water right at sun rise. Tried throwing rip baits and top water- nothing. We cover alot o water that day to have only about 7-8.5 pounds. Found using my 1/4 oz darter with 6 inch salt & pepper seemed to work the best up in the cloud and squal. Talked to a ew other boats, they were having the some problem with getting any size or a steady pattern. Sorry I couldn't give anymore ino, I didn't have much going or mysel. Will be back up there next weekend, hope the weather changes or the worse, rain would really turn on the bite.

Water Temp: 74
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Had a tough day on the lake yesterday. We did a lot o looking or new areas to ish. Got on the lake about 0630. Looking or bait. Found them in 8-70 eet on water. Tryed crank-baits, jigs, drop-shot, split-shot, etc.. We ished humps, creek channels, main lake points and lats. We had A LOT o very small ish ollow our plastics (4"-10" ish). We managed to put 2 ish in the boat by 4pm. The ish were about 14", caught in about 18' o water on a drop-shot. Found these on the side o a hump next to a creek channel. Boy were they scrappy. They really smacked the drop-shots, these ish were not shy at all. Let the lake about 5:30.
City: WaterordTips: ind the bait...ind the ish. Be persistant.

Report: One person guide trip out o Stockton, we ran to the main river near ranks 1st thing. We started ishing bends in the main river with current. High out go in the morning. I was tossing the green craw speed trap and the other guy was using the white /gold persuader. I caught about 7 ish then I gave it up and we switched. He started catching ish with the speed trap and I was getting them ok on the persuader. The spinner bait was getting better ish but the the speed trap was catching more. We hopped around the main river until low tide and caught 30 plus ish the biggest was only about 2lbs. We did have a big one on ,on the speed trap but got o at the boat, maybe a ive. Ater lunch we hopped aroung Franks low incomming and the bite really slowed o. We ish some ledges and breaks, weed lins and such looking or some better ish but never ound them. Back to the rocks and weeds with current and we caught about 8 more and went in.
City: ConcordTips: I'll be out again a ew times this week or smallies and largies look or the reports. Remember the PERSUADER TOURNAMENT is coming up in less than 2 weeks.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Launched rom Orwood in the early AM and headed to the middle delta. I went with the purpose o throwing topwater and rip baits so I let my avorite stu at home. Managed 30+ ish to 3lbs. Fished topwater with PoPr and buzzbait. PoPr produced 12+ ish once the sky went rom dark to dawn. Buzzer produced NADA...Then began rippin' and produced 15+ and having a very large ish jump and throw the hook back to me. Pleased with the result since I don't throw rip baits with enough requency to igure them out. I will bring with me on all uture trips. Let the water at Noon. (Five best went 13lbs or so).
City: discovery bayTips: Rock with sparse tules and weeds work best or me. For topwater, the bites were aggressive and I didn't have a single ish come unbuttoned once hooked which is not common or me. The rip bites were equally ierce and let little doubt the ish were chasing bait. Keys seemed to be a long pause on top and with the rip. The color which produced best with both baits was Pearl White.

Water Temp: unknown
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Put in at Russo's at around 1:30pm and went straight out into Franks Tract. The wind was ierce, especially or my little 12 oot inlatable, but I managed to have my most quality day on the Delta yet. Fished tight to the tulles around the edges o the tract, tossing a brown 3/8 oz jig with watermelon brushhog trailer. Boated ten ish (all keepers) in about 4 hours o ishing. Biggest ive had to go about 18 pounds (great or me especially on such a wild and windy day!!). I don't have a scale, but will be getting one ater this adventure (a riendly bassman weighed in one o the bigger ones at around 4.2 pounds). The ish were pretty tight to cover, but would roam a ew eet to grab the jig even when I pitched poorly. Didn't throw anything but the jig.
City: San FranciscoTips: Flipping to tight cover - the key seemed to be the highish tide and inding the areas where the tules petered out with deeper water above the hydrilla bottom (4-5 eet as opposed to 2-3), essential to have good cover mixed in with standing tules (allen tules seemed even better than thick hydrilla as coverage).

Report: Two person guide trip out o Viera's What a mad house it was in the morning, Silver carp isherman everywhere. We started ishing close to the launch and boated a 2lb spot right away on a white helix, then got a 1lb smallie on a white 3/8oz Persuader with gold blades. Tide was med outgo. We caught ish all along the rip rap where ever there was a current change, like a pint or a bend in the channel. Clients were spinning rod isherman and had a little trouble decting the bite. They ish the helix all day and got 6 ish between them, best one was a 2.5lb smallie. I got about 12 ish on the 3/8 persuader and the new green craw speed trap. (looks like the delta craw but it green) A week eariler I ished smallies out o Hog Back and caught about 15lbs on the white persuader w/gold blades
City: ConcordTips: Rear the river, look or changes in the current. I a guy was to ish up htere and aroun Hog back during the Persuader Tournament you could get 10-17lbs o spots and smallies

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Got to the lake around 2:30 in an eort to take a check out o the boat ater some service and headed north into the 5 MPH zone and ound some submerged trees and brush and couldn't resist throwing a Senko ater my partner had already stuck a nice 3+ on a jig o a rocky point. They were hanging tight to the brush and managed 4 nice 2+ ish then saw them busting bait on the surace and couldn't get my topwater ast enough so lobbed the Senko, twitched it a ew times and had another 2+ with a big at belly. Boat and ish are all ine and got o the water around 6:30,
City: WheatlandTips: Steep rock walls with a brown/orange jig, Yamamoto #180 trailer. Senko was weighted with 1/16 bullet and used cinnamon/blue lake tight to brush.

Continued in the South Arm alternating with the spinner and a white crank bait. One other 2 1/2 punder on the crank bait beore heading to the North Arm to get one more with the spinner bait. Fish were in the trees in the morning but then I ound them o the rocky points in the shade later in the morning. O the lake by 11:30am with 3 in the boat, un day.
