Report: This message is concerning smallmouth bass. Ater years o catching nice largemouths, I'm very anxious to try some smallmouth ishing. I have caught several tiny smallmouth rom Del Valle, but I was told that Quarry has some that commonly exceed 2 pounds. I've ished quarry once or bass, and I had my success in the small lake with some quality largemouths. I tried some steep drop os with small grubs looking or a smallmouth with no success. Does anyone ish Quarry or bass anymore? I anyone has any tips I'd really appreciate it, such as which lake holds more and better ish and what type o presentation has seemed to work best. Thanks, Dan

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: My dad and I ished up at San Pablo this thursday and we seemed to do well. Got up there around 6:00 AM barely any people. Weather was great and so was the ishing at times. We were ishing at Pines the whole day. Around 9:30 AM things started to heat up and the ish were hitting every 30 minutes. We caught 8 all together, and must o had 11 bites. We caught one 6 pound catish and everything else was trout. Ranging rom 13 to about 16 inches. I had one big trout on which must have been at least 7 pounds but my line snapped ater a 10 minute battle. But or the most part ishing was great and conditions were excellent.
      City: Millbrae

Tips: Use nightcrawlers but not the whole thing. Cut in hal and use one hal o it. Inlate with air and put attractant on the bait. It is okay i the hook is exposed just as long as the worm is moving. You can put powerbait or any kind o sot bait i you want. And last, is to make sure you have a long leeder around two eet. GOODLUCK!!!

Report: I just moved to the area recently so I thought I try bass ishing at chabot or the irst time. I walked up the hill rom the San Leandro side and came to the damn. I don't think your supposed to ish it but I saw a nice little trail leading to a cement drop o which was too tempting to pass up. When I got down there I noticed a 5-6 lber sitting beneath the ledge. I ished her with dierent plastics until inally she hit a small grub. While I was realing in, the comotion enticed 3 huge bass to take a look. I hid so they couldn't see me and dropped a 10 inch purple worm. Ater 30 seconds o twitching it, bam! Weighed a little over 12. I knew there were 2 bass that looked a bigger than her so I ished it in or a nother hour when I got my next bite. This one weighed 13lbs 10oz. Ater another 30 minutes I took o not wanting to get a ticket. Some times you have to take a chance to get the real big mamas.

      Water Temp: ?

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Got out on the water today at 8:00 am and ished the Yorty arm. I picked up 2 o o a point that were each 2+ by about 8:30, then didn't get a bite or the next two hours. The bite was way o compared to how it has been or the last three weeks or so. Then at about 12:00 picked up a 5.5 emale that was completely ull o eggs on a lat in about 20'. Ater a quick pic. I released her right back to be caught again. That one made my day a success and was o the water by 2:00. Big ish came on a texas-rigged 3" grub.
      City: Santa Rosa

Tips: Talked to a ew guys today who said the bite has been pretty tough. When the weather warms up, hopeully so will the bite. P.S. Everyone knows this small lake gets its air share o ishing pressure. I saw a guy on the bank today with about eight bass on a stringer, none o which looked to be over a hal pound. I you want meat, go to Saeway, i you want to be able to catch a ish here in a ew years, throw the babies back.

      Water Temp: about 50

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Put in at Trinity Center around 10 am. Weather has been horrible, downpour, snow, cold, you name it. Hit the usual areas just kind o looking around, nothing much happening. Could not ind anything. About 4 in the aternoon I am on a lat in 15 oot o water and inally commit to just throwing a jerkbait. Next hour put 2 good smallies in the boat but by now the weather is getting to me so I call it quits.
      City: Arcata

Tips: I thought the inluence o the lunar phase would be stronger than the eects rom the ront. Man was I wrong. Water temp has dropped and apparently it has killed the bite. I had to ish the jerkbait real slow with long pauses to get bit. From what I saw ish are suspended right now, never got bumped on bottom presentations down to 25 oot.
