Spoke with several other anglers on the lake and they reported similar conditions, tough bite and small ish. Must be pre-rontal or something. The hot spinnerbait bite that was there a week ago disappeared. Bites were suttle and inrequent, but we must keep trying.
City: Rohnert ParkTips: Best bite was o the main lake down toward the "S" turns around allen wood and rocks. White blades with Chart. trailer or senkos.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: launched @ 730am. started up around shoreline and small coves up towards jackson creek arm. tossed #194 Senkos and boated #'s o spotties rom 1-2.5lbs. my buddy(whos birthday was on that day) kept switching between topwater poppers, purple worms, and gitzits, with no strikes. yet he reused to use my aresenal o Senkos.Bad move! It took him 15 ish o mine later to inally land his irst bass. there was a hot submerged tree close to the bank that yielded more bass or me including a 3.5# largemouth.(also had a lot o hangups along the branches and did break one o my cheaper rods due to careless action). beore we got to the bear river arm, hooked into one that was 5# or better but ended up coming unbuttoned. i did use a ew other baits, but 90% senkos and all o my ish were caught on them. did not ish the south side shoreline. ended the day with 24 bass, only one o them largemouth, lost on 5 or 6 other strikes, and the largest was the big spotted o 6lbs 11oz.Thats pretty darned big or a spot, never hooked or seen a spot that big beore. did not have my digital camera with me not expecting any trophy ish, just my digital scale, but would have loved to have gotten a picture. thats like a once in a lietime catch or a spotted bass! shes back in the water though, since Catch and Release is always preached, as my buddy ound out watching me tossing every ish back to the water. I elt bad or him or he only landed 2 ish. weather was beautiul that day and only a ew other boats out. looks good when the lake is ull like this.(and no damned waterskiers or jetskis.)they will be there soon, very soon. get out there. preerably a weekday.
City: yuba cityTips: very ew surace breaks. invest in some senkos and ish them SLOOWWLLY! and on the bottom weedless and weightless.deadstick 'em with an occasional twitch or drag. or just drag them along in 8-12eet o water. Stick with a 1/0 hook and no wide gaps. may lose some ish

Contra Loma Lake

Water Temp: ???
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Holy crap, can't they keep the water at a constant level this year? LoL. It seems like or the past ew months now, the lake level is all the way up one week, then back down the next. Just last Wednesday the lake was uller than I'd ever seen it in my lie, and now this week, it's lower than I've seen it so ar this year. I'm sure that it doesn't help the spawn at all. I saw a ew spots let high and dry that looked like they were obvious bass beds. Also...I saw a lot o bass ry in a lot o places...what's with that? Anywhere rom 1-4"...are those rom late spawning all bass...or rom early spawning bass this year? Just thought it was kind o weird...Anywho, had trouble sticking any decent sized ish...but I caught 5 rom 1.5-2lbs. I ished the island and lipped a senko to the tules. I could see two 3.5-4lb bass that were sitting next to these two tule clumps, but they were very skittish. I couldn't get anywhere near them without them takin' o...they'd come back ater a ew minutes, but I was still never able to get anywhere near them. To catch the ish that I did, I slapped on my waders, and just waded around the island on the outskirts o the tules and lipped the tules with a senko...5" smoke w/ silver lk. The water was just shallow enough to where I could walk along the outside edge o the tules without it going over the top o my chest waders. It was un...can't get the loat tube in, so it's the next best thing. haha. Actually, I thought they wouldn't let me do that either, but I did it anyways, and a ranger walked by and just asked me how the ishing was, so I guess it was all right with them...
City: AntiochTips: I dunno...this alling water seems to have pushed big ish away...where to? I'm not quite sure...probably o shore a bit and hangin' around some ledges...but can't get to those right now!

Report: Rough Weather! High winds and swells. Fished rom 3pm til 6pm. Hit my irst ish on a baby brush hog on a darthead bouncing o the bottom near the dam. Lost a ish on a senko on the east side o the lake. Hooked and landed two more at the launch ramp. Considering the weather I was happy w/ 3.
City: MercedTips: Brush hogs and senkos did o.k. Anybody have any suggestions?

Oroville Lake

Water Temp: 46
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: lauched rom Lime Saddle. Fished the west branch and caught 12 ish. one was over 15" and the rest was under. got back to the truck to ind a ticket on the windshield. my buddy has season pass but they increased it $2.00 per day without telling anyone to pay or the rebuild o the marina. It is going to cost around $60.00 or the ine. It's crap.
City: chicoTips: don't get caught without paying the EXTRA $2.00 or the launch.
