Report: Hit the water out o Windmill Cove at daybreak and started working the tules and rip rap in 14 mile. Took a ew dinks and 2 keepers early in 6-7' o water on Senkos. As soon as the sun got high (about 9am)the bite died o. Moved to the entrance o 14 mile, around 15' depth adjacent to reeds & grass, and just started bangin'em. Caught lots o dinks, 8-9 keepers, and topped o with a spunky 6#er.
City: TurlockTips: Senkos in dark colors. Watermellon/black etc. Let em roll with the tide and slow crawl them back to the boat.

Water Temp: 70
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: A client and I attempted to beat the predicted north wind on Wednesday, but we only managed about an hour wind-free. Since we launched at Markley Cove, we we forced to stay in the narrows and that was NO picnic! I have seen worse wind but this day it was especially annoying! Could not get away from it. We were throwing Chug Bugs in the morning but it was slow. We did have one bunch of bass come to the surface chasing shad and I nailed one about 2 1/2 pounds. However the school disappeared immediately. We then targeted weed beds at the back of coves in the narrows and got lucky. The client had a good bass on which I figured out after two minutes or so, and I soon netted a fat 3 lb 3 oz largemouth. Great September fish! The rest of the day we fought the wind, catching a few more small largemouth in the back of coves. We could not get the fish on points or walls to bite, and if they did, we probably wouldn't have known it anyway! I was teaching him how to bass fish and that nice largemouth got him off to a good start, in spite of the wind!
City: Yuba CityTips: The morning dawn and shad colored (#63) Magic worms worked better than anything else. The big one hit morning dawn 6" worm on a split-shot rig. I though they would hit a white spinnerbait with the wind, but no takers. My X-15 showed nearly all fish suspended from 10 to 30 feet with few fish on the bottom. It was simply too windy to report any patterns. We just got lucky on a quality bass. He played it very well. Of course the guide knew the spot, Har!

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: On the water at 6:15am and ran to the north end. Fished points on main lake and landed 1 smallie by 7:00 and a reaction bait. No top water action. Slow day. Spent most of the time searching areas for upcoming club tourny. Wind pick up from the north around 9:30 on the main lake and saw 1'-2' waves. The waves made it hard to stay on the main lake but died done after 12:00. Ended the day with another smallie about 14" on a jig.
City: Rohnert ParkTips: Find the depth the fish are holding. Air temp reached the mid-90's.

Report: Its all so time to return to the Delta. I went out alone or the irst trip since May. Launched at Orwood and ished south. While the tide was still high I started with topwater. I could not ind my avorite buzzbait so I tossed a Rico and got two keepers, one 3.5. As the tide dropped I pitched Senkos in the weed pockets and got two more including a 4.5. Near the bottom o the tide I went to lippin the center island in Victoria and picked up two more keepers. At 1 PM the tide bottomed out and the bite shut o while the water was still. It was hot so I headed home instead o waiting or the tide to start moving again.
City: BelmontTips: Fish weekdays! I only saw three ski boats all day.

Water Temp: 69.8 to 74
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: In at Jones Valley at 6:00 AM. Meet up with Gene and Ginger rom Anderson or a day o ishing and a little riendly competition. The rules were simple, the biggest ish between the our o us wins. Well, to make a long story short, Gene had a 2.5 spot. The best I could do was a 1.8. Both the blondes couldn't seem to get it together. Better luck next time, and believe me there will be a next time, only with a dierent winner. We started out at Jones Valley point where I lost one right o. We then headed up to the upper Pit and had pretty good luck wormin the trees in about 25 to 30 eet. My 1.8 came on a jig straight over the boat. I ended up with 8 total and Susan had 4, at least I out did her this time. It was a beautiul day with not too much boat traic. We had a great time with Gene and Ginger. OK Gene, lets here your report now.

Water Temp: 75
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Gave Uvas a shot or the irst time in a couple years. I caught a ew smaller ish on dark plastics in about ten eet o water. I got into a decent surace bite in the shallows around sunset, but they were smaller ish. I did have a huge blowup on a popper, but I guess that craty toad was just playing with me cuz he/she missed the lure by a oot. All in all slow, but it sure was peaceul without a bunch o boats ans ski's tearing up the water.
City: San JoseTips: Enjoy the quiet, slow down, look or windy points in atleast 9 eet o water with plastics. Work the surace stu real slow.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished with neighbor, and long-time Delta isherman Jerry Nicolas. Launched rom Orwood and ished Frank's, Washington Cut, and new water in the middle Delta. Superb crank bite until about 10:00 AM. Caught 12+ in the 2-3+ class and many more smaller ish. Also, caught several schoolie stripers. Started lipping jigs and senkos. The Senko bite was terrible, however, Jerry caught (5) nice ish on jigs up to 3.5 lbs. Fished tulles with current. Overall we had a great day.
City: Discovery BayTips: Cranks and Jigs were the ticket. Not much doing or us with Buzzbait or rogs. Black/Blue jig worked...other colors went empty. You can catch a solid limit using only cranks this time o year, plus, you will enjoy several stripers in the mix. No clue as to the big ish. I expect they'll show up soon. Stay sae. TG
