Report: Fished Yorty Creek with my brother who came back to CA rom school. Thought it might be a good day with a topwater bite with the cloud cover but it was very cool all day. Fished rom 7:30 - 1:00 and had a rough day. Right o the bat I had a huge ish explode on a rog but set the hook too soon. Had a couple more bumps but no hookups. Towards the end o our trip missed a ish on a buzz (no trailer hook) then ended up catching a dink. My brother and I did end up catching a bunch o bluegill but nothing o note. Also noticed baitish schools on my sonar along with small schools o bass busting on the surace.A riend ended up hooking a bullrog on shore (he was obviously bored), started bringing it in, plopped it on the weedmat then BOOM. A giant bass explodes on the bullrog but when he sets the hook his rog comes lying back at him.
      City: San Francisco

Tips: There are quality ish in the weedmats, i you can cover the water with a rog and buzz you should be able to ind some good ish. I just wasn't able to catch them!

Report: Ok, I'll keep this one airly short ater yesterday's greatly detailed report. Basically did the same thing today. Tested out my old t-rigged worm bite on the east bank with the same result as yesterday...one 10" dink. Ok, 13 ish in all today. 8 ish or the drop-shot, 3 ish or the jig, and 2 ish or the Pop-R again. Drop-shot ish came about everywhere...rocks, tules, shady areas, allen tree, docks, drop-os, and points...anywhere rom 2-20t o water again. The jig ish came o o the dam...6-12t o water. The two Pop-R bass come on the west side o the dam along the bank...both in the shade. Big ish o the day came on the Pop-R... 4.5lbs...it was the length o a 3lber, but it was a CHUNK. Missed one other blow-up on the Pop-R. It was a good blow-up, but it happened just barely ater I got hooked on a loating piece o reed, so he got a mouth ull o reed when he blew up on it.
      City: Antioch

Tips: Jig ish...once again...1/4oz black bass stalker jig w/ pumpkin pepper claw chunk jr. trailer. All three jig ish were 3lbs each. Fished the jig 'til it broke o in the rocks. I've been limiting mysel to one jig per trip. LoL.

Report: First o all, my bad, I think I put the wrong date on that last report. Should've read...7-31-02. Anyways, now or the report today. Today, I ished rom the loat tube rom 11:00 - 4:30. So that's a good 5 1/2hrs o ishin'. I guess you guys need a real isherman to show you how to ish this lake, cause I'm still havin' no problems. Har Har! Today I caught 15 bass. Started o at the boat ramp and ished all along the east bank with my junebug colored Zoom Trick Worm again to see i that bite was still holdin'. Much to my surprise though, that bite totally died out on me!! I ished the east bank all the way rom the boat ramp to the rocks near the back o the lake with my t-rigged worm. I only picked up one 10" dink with it. Pretty pathetic. So, once I reached the rocks, I busted out with the jig. Broke o the only Bass Stalker I had with me on my 5th cast in the rocks. Tied on a dierent jig and continued down the rocks with no hits at all. Once I reached the dam, I put down the jig rod, and busted out with the drop-shot rig. I was drop-shottin' a 5.5" green weanie colored worm. I ished all the way down the dam starting at the east side. I picked up 9 bass all along the rocks on the dam. They were all rom 1 - 4.5lbs, with the majority o them being solid 2.5 - 3lb bass. I even had one break me o that elt like a really good ish. I caught a quick glimpse o it and it looked maybe 5-6lbs. I need to get a new spinning reel. The drag on the one I've got right now isn't too reliable. that's how it broke me o. Anywho, all the bass along the dam were anywhere rom only a oot away rom the rocks all the way out into about 15t o water. They were just all over 'em. Once I reached the end o the dam, I kept going along the bank throwing the drop-shot. I picked up two more bass both about 2lbs in some shady areas along the bank. Then, when I made it towards the mouth o that cove on the backside o the lake, I had about 30 minutes let to ish, so I igured I'd spend it messing around with the Pop-R to test i this report about a good mid-day topwater bite at this lake had any truth to it. Well, I must admit, I was impressed. In the back o the cove, I caught two bass with the Pop-R by throwing it into open pockets in the tules. Both good ish...a 3.5lb and a 4lb. Then as I was working my way out o the cove, I caught a 1 lber with the Pop-R in some shade, and then proceeded to have one more bass blow up on the Pop-R, but he missed it. Not bad or the middle o the day. haha. Then, I made my way across the middle o the lake back to boat ramp, and on my way in, I pitched the drop-shot rig underneath o the dock at the boat ramp area, and stuck one good 3lber to end the day.

Report: Well, I just got back rom vacation late last night, so I've been unoacking and whatnot today, but I just couldn't help mysel rom runnin' over to the lake tonight to get some topwater action. I only ished or about 30 minutes rom 8:20 - 8:50. I ished the rocks just outside o the swim area. Started o throwin' my iretiger colored Spittin' Twitcher topwater lure...caught two solid 2lb largemouths. At about 8:45 it started gettin' pretty dark, so I put down the topwater, and picked up my rod that had a inesse 1/4oz black Bass Stalker Jig with a pumpkin pepper w/ black and green gold lake Claw Chunk Jr. trailer. On my 2nd pitch with it I caught another good 2lb bass. It took the trailer though, and I had orgotten to bring extra trailers in my haste to get to the lake. So I put the jig rod back down, and threw a spinnerbait or the last 3 minutes. I had one tap, but I think it was probably just a little panish.
      City: Antioch

Tips: There's really a pretty decent topwater bite going on in the early morning and evening hours this summer. I've ound my best success to be with this Spittin' Twitcher and with zara spooks. As or the jig ish...ya just gotta love those bass stalkers. LoL. Even when they're not hittin' other jigs...it seems like I can still pick some up with bass stalkers. www.bassstalker.com Give 'em a try!

Report: Got on the water about 1 oclock and ran right to the deep rocky point by the second dam. Threw a blade or a couple o minutes then started shaking a 6" roboworm that CV gave me a handull o a while back. Got 2 ish in 15-20 t o water in the irst 15 minutes. Then I wanted to ish the grass so I ran to the back big cove. Heard senkos were working well, but didnt get one hit on a senko ALL day. Didnt ish it too thoroughly though. Anyway, threw a luke or nothing, then started stroking them on a 1/2 oz shad pattern DUH!!! spinnerbait. Seemed like I was getting a ish every 5 casts or about an hour. Even got a buzzbait ish at around 3 pm that went around 3.5-4 lbs. Ater the bite slowed down a bit, I ran to bailey cove or about a hal hour and missed 2 more on blades. Some guy ishing rom a canoe got an 8 lber in bailey cove dragging a worm, nice!!! Marked ALOT o ish in bailey. Ran back to my starting point and started shaking a worm again and this time got a solid 4 lber. It was getting late at this time and I wanted to be close to the launch ramp or closing (wanted to stay at that point longer) so ran back to bailey and got a blow up on my buzzbait right away, but missed it. Started throwing a popper ( I RARELY throw poppers) and boated another 4 lber. Absolutely nailed my popper. Then switched to a super spook and got 2 more approx. 3 lbers beore it was time to go.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Got in three hours beore work. Had nothing going in the rock gardens on the surace or reaction. Moved to the main lake or the last hour and got 4, including a spot pushing 3lbs. Missed a couple more. Reused to pick up a stick with a sot plastic, made an adjustment instead to slow roll in deeper water. Started connecting. Cloud cover may have helped. Hobie ramp is open at the end o Brown's. Sticking to the template- report irst, useless diatribe second. First time back out with a new engine. I brought my rig home at 10pm, on the water at 5:45, back to the ramp at 9, nailed some business in Sac at 11, and caught a light to LA by 3. Whatever it takes. Speaking o takes, now that I'm ishing again I'll have more or this page- sucks or you. When I had nothin goin by 8, with an hour to go, I remembered ishing is like lie- ya can't go back. Late last summer the reation bite here was sick. Low water levels exposed the silt and the ceasless boat traic had the water so completely turbid. Talk about mud lines. Today's action in the last hour let me cauciously optomistic that perhaps it's not too late to catch some o last season's un this summer also. My buddy Swimbait may never ind out. Not with me anyway. He's in Cabo, and he busts me o a call rom his cell. It was a voicemail, and he's all, yeah, me n Dave's chillin tonight quaing some o Mexico's inest. Today we caught yellowtail to 25lbs. Dorado too- yeah, a 15lb really puts a hurtin on your bass tackle dude. We're goin out again tomorrow too, but you have un catchin dem bass back home, ok Zipper? I've warned Swimbait about who he runs with. Dave and I were roomies back in the day. Dave's not gettin on Folsom's summer action either. His wie became VP at his work. He's done, stick a ork in him. Now that my boat runs like a bat out o hell, I can see it already. Next week Swimbait will break me o a call: yo,yo, take me or a ride in your sled and let's do some ishin. I'll be all: Dog, works really gotten busy now- seems there's no end in sight.
      City: El Dorado Hills

Tips: The season's temperature and the boat traic puts the ish down perhaps, but they still gotta eat. Baitish and crayish.
