Report: Someone lost a 22" 7.00 lb Spotted Bass rom their stringer last Thursday. One o our group ound it (still alive) loating in the middle o the lake near Jones Valley. You know who you are! Your riends don't believe your story but I do! E-mail me directly, we have pictures to back up your story! Our houseboat was in Blue Creek rom May 1 thru May 5. 10 ishermen in our group. We ished the Pit River primarily, Squaw a little. Bite was slow in the morning, and picked up during the day. Evening bite was the best or us. This was a consistent pattern on all baits. Seems the ish need to warm up.
      City: santa rosa

Tips: Live bait (minnows and crawlers) were hot. On Thursday, between 3 pm and 7 pm I released over 35 bass ranging rom 11 to 15.5 inches. The most productive plastics (worms, grubs, tubes all worked) were salt and pepper or "slime" green. Spinners and other "hard" bait picked up a ew. Forget trolling (although it could break loose any minute), I spent many, many hours ishing or one 'Bow and one Chinook.

Report: I never post here, usually just read, but I'm bored at work so here goes. Tubed CL last Saturday. Got slammed on a white blade irst thing in the morning, hooking about 5 or 6 rom 1 to 3lbs in about 10 or 15 minutes. All but one came unbuttoned, need a crankin' stick. When blade bite slowed, lipped a senko or 2 dinks. Got tired o that, threw a speed trap and hooked a 6 incher. Wanted to get a couple more beore leaving, so I went to old reliable, texas rig. Picked up a 3, then a 1.5 on back-to-back lips. It slowed ater that, and I bounced.
      City: El Sobrante

Tips: They seem to be getting active, but are still mostly in the tules. Can't lose lippin' plastics...

      Water Temp: low 60's?

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Tried 4 spots at the North end o the lake. Water color was a bit dirty up the creek but pretty clear rom the power tower south. Saw a 2 and a 4 lb.er both come up and take a very close look at a white lizard I was tossin' but wouldn't grab it. I believe part o the reason the bass wouldn't bite this day is all the bass ry that are available to them. In 2 spots I saw so many ry that you couldn't toss a lure without scattering them. I believe that's why this lake always has lots o bass in it. That and the semi-light ishing pressure. Saw another sight that is common to this lake. On the trail at the end o the road I walked up on a 4 oot long, very at rattlesnake. Looked dead but was only sunning itsel (4PM). Please be careul- I've adopted the goy looking habit o wearing black rubber kneehigh boots even when it's hot and sunny.
      City: napa

Tips: Basic plastics in basic colors have always worked great or me. Weightless i it's not too windy- senkos i it is windy!

Report: Launched out o Orwood at NOON...Yeah, not the brightest move, but ishing is better than working. Took two riends who never ish the Delta. In our our hours we caught 20 ish rom dink to 6lbs. Best (5) went 15+. Fish came on Senko (watermelon, red lake, Black & Blue lake), Junebug Zipper 5inch, Spinnerbait (Y/Y), and Crank. Tide was going out when we arrived and got real low. Missed two beautiul ish on Spinnerbait in low, low tide. Both rolled ater hookset but popped o. Biggest ish came on zipper in tight. (12 legal & 8 dinks). Too much boat traic to take the day real serious.
      City: Disco Bay

Tips: SLOW PRESENTATION with inesse baits. Let the Senko sit or 30 second count beore moving at all. The Zipper worked just crawling real slow. Fished all in the South as usual.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Launched out o Sugar Barge 6:30am on Saturday. Had an OK day, most ish caught during high tide. Had several blow-ups on topwater: buzzbaits and jitterbugs. Nailed a ew o them. They were short striking the buzzbait and nailing the jitterbug. Fished senkos the rest o the day, but to limited success. Tried blading and cranking, but no takers.Regardless, it was a beautiul day to be on the water.

Tips: Any pointers on ishing the low-tide? Or should we just chase the high tide? Most o our senko ish (dinks) came out o shady pockets tight to tules or on 3-5' deep weed lines.
