Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Wind howling in early morning couldn't get in until around noon. Fished North side o main body East o marina around tules and ound a 3 pounder and a 15" er on brown and orange jig with a split tail trailer. Brother in law caught a 2 lber on a small shad colored swim bait. Tried reaction baits but no luck. Only my second time on the lake so I haven't got the pattern down yet. The scenery is the reason I like this lake so much. Looking east over the dam you can see snow covered Mount Lassen and looking North you can see Mount Shasta. The dam is built between two buttes that are the home to many predatory birds, and watching them sail in the wind will sometimes take your mind o the slow ishing.

Report: Out o Lundborg today, no wind in the morning, suprise! Mid outgoing tide. Stayed around Franks most o the morning throwing a Cht/Cht all metal persuader buzz bait #96112 got the irst 3 that bit 1.5 to 3lbs. We then just ran around ishing rocks and weeds with a little current and got bite ater bite, some good one and a lot o little ones. It seems just behind the current with some sparse weeds is where the ish are. We would catch a 8"er then a 2lber all sizes were every where, I had one giant ish blow up where I thouhg I would catch a little one. I believe ther just cruising the bank eating shad. Ater misisng 10 or so a added a trailer hook and landed a 1.5lber then missed a bunch more and the missed ish would not hit a ollow up bait but you have to try. Ater Franks we ran south and only had a couple o bite then ran to whites and caught a ew there but the tide was too low. We had about 30+ bites on the buzz bait and 5 on the rog. A un day but no size on 3 over 3.
City: ConcordTips: The top water biite is on, the right spot and you will get the right bites. Throw it ALL DAY, we didn't start till ater 7:00am

Report: John Walton rom Waltons pond and I went to the parks Dept board meeting on tuesday. It seems the biologists didnt have a permit on record to transport bass to the quarry lakes. We have had an overwelming responce to this issue. Thanks to people like you it can make it easier to get something done about this matter. There was one biologist there that so he said wasn't in the boat that took the bass, but he was caught between a rock and a hard place. He ound out that we meen business about this and it better be stopped asap. ears about this. This could be growing problem because quarry lakes are already ished out or the bass and talks were made o going to Dell Valle to get the ish. Talks about a petition have been scratched. It wont do any good. We have done better! An investigation has been started by Dept Fish and Game on this ILLEGAL transportation o game ish. Keep Tuned and I will ill all you in on outcomes in the weeks to come
City: Castro ValleyTips: Please support catch and release not catch and kill. we will do our best to stop the shock and ship. we will need your help to make the dierence. I will post the next board meeting o importance on this page so keep inormed

Water Temp: 66
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Just like the guys in the last couple o reports, things seem to have slowed down or at least changed. Been pretty much slaying em since the end o March, good weather or bad.The last couple o trips (5/6 and 5/8, both evening) It was tough. Caught ewer and smaller ish using the same patterns. You can still ind a bed or two but the ish are VERY spooky and I seem to waste more time than it's worth. Personally, I think the ish are still in the trees and on and around rockpiles but have changed THEIR pattern. Last month you had to put the bait in ront o them and the bite was light. Now, ish seem to be chasing. Ater dropping Senkos in the trees rom 20 t. and only getting hit on the ast retrieve close to the boat, I inally tied on a spinner bait and picked up a couple o nice ish out o the same trees I had been throwing Senkos in to. Maybe the Senkos have been working SO well or SO long that some o us have orgotten that other baits exist. I did have a 4 or 5 pounder ollow a Senko all the way to the boat. Oh well, I guess i there WAS only 1 bait in the world...........

Report: Finished work early so i headed out to the lake around 3:30.Went straight to the trees where i've been banging them or at least a month. To my dismay they were no longer there.I did catch a ew but most were the 13-14 inch rats that tear up your bait.Looks like they've either moved out or there not on a evening bite. I did try top water(spook)and didn't get one blow up.

Report: It's been a while since I've ished Soula', but the crappie was outstanding, though most were small. You could honestly catch a hundred or two! A small 1/64 1" tube or grub in chartreuse (or your avorite color) rigged tandem a oot apart a couple eet under a tiny bobber, tipped with a wax worm i the ish were touchy. Ice ishing jigs were also good. From the dam let as ar back as you cared to walk. Caught a ew nice ones (2lb) ishing plastics or bass, but most about hand size. A long ultralight rod, a backpack, and good hiking boots with a ew jigs and your set. Well that's how it used to be. Good luck!

Report: Just out ishing today, looking or smallies out o Hog BackReally windy I was only able to throw reaction baits. The bite was sparse most o the day with a ish here and a ish there, using a Persuader 1/2oz wht/cht Spinner bait slow rolling, the ish would crush it then nothing there. This happened about 10 times then I bright idea "trailer hook" and then I started hooking them. Also ound a bird wrapped in ishing line stuck to a tree, had to run up on the rocks to cut it loose b8ut it was worth it to see it ly away. I ran around a lot then at the end o the day I ound a bank that was loaded, the tide was up and I caught smallies to 2.5lbs on about every other cast using a Cht/blu 1/8oz speed trap. Most o the sparse smallies were on little points just behind the current.
City: ConcordTips: I stopped by the Master Baiter in Isleton and learned a lot o good ino on crawdads. They have a big tank ull o them.Cover water ind the ish then ish or those ish.
