Report: I guided the past two late aternoon-nights with two ellows each trip. Tues night was very cool with a strong east breeze and the north wind had blown all day. We only managed 6 bass but the trip was still a good one as a client nailed a 6 pound bass, just beore dark, on my new avorite color Senko #301. He caught it near the spillway. We did get 3 bass beore dark on Senkos and I caught my irst Amador topwater ish o the year - about 2 1/2 lbs on a Chug Bug. There was very little surace activity both evenings, probably because o all the wind. The next night was warmer with very little east breeze and as a result the ishing was hot! We landed 22 bass with one o the ellows landing a 5 pounder on the same #301 Senko, about 8:30 PM. The best bite was ater dark with the shallow ish on a good bite. The top bait was the junebug Dead Ringer worm. We only got one ish deeper than 10 eet, but it was a 4-9! We caught bass all over the lake. The ellow that caught the 5 said he wanted to catch one more good one and the next (last) cast he caught a 3 pounder. Our 5 biggest weighed 17 lb 2 oz.

Tips: Saw a lot o big ish suspended, but they wouldn't bite. I looked around or awhile on Wed aternoon and saw some big ish still shallow, but they wouldn't bite at night.

Report: THE BEST WAY TO GET YOUR NAME IN THE PAPER HER IS TO DO WHAT ALL THE BIG CHEATERS DO AND GE YOUR TROUT BAIT READY, WHAIT UNTIL A NICE LITTLE TROUT HITS SET THE HOOK. ONCE THE FISH IS ON JUST PUT IT IN FREE SPOOL AND WHAIT UNTIL A BIG BASS FINDS HIM, THIS WORKS EVERY TIME.
      City: anahiem

Tips: DURING TROUT PLANTS BASS FEED LIKE CRAZY ON TROUT AND EVEN IF YOU DONT SEE THE BASS THERE THIER. SO HAVE SOME PATIENCE

Ran over near shallow point at 0500 and started throwing a rip bait and got 18 between 0503 and 0640 witha 2.2 smallmouth, all came right o the berach, i I didn't get within a oot o shore ,no bite, wind came up a little more at 0630 and I ripped 3 more smallmouth and picked up a worm rod. Tied on a 3/8 oz darter head I just started making and a 5 inch MGM 151 (black magic) curly tail and caught 11 more in the next hour to 1.6. irst time I have ever thrown the 151. the 2 early jig ish hit at the surace and the rip ish were right on the bank, the worm ish came out o 12-20t and mostly on gentle sloping red mud banks and the 3/8 oz darter head is real nice when throwing into a 15 knot wind. got out at 0830 temp up to 66 and the lake has dropped just past 10 t. only saw 2 other boats and the college kids didn't make much o a ruckus last week with only 500 showing up versus the usual 2,000, water very clear down to 25t.

Report: Well, I took a co-worker and a couple o his cub scout kids out on Soulajule to try and load up on some crappie. Could not ind them on the west end o the lake. I they are up on the north and east end, they should be coming up any time on the south and west end. Did manage 3 black bass to about 2 ounds on small spinner baits. The bass are up in the grass lats, and look like they have not spawned yet. I know there are some ish bedding, as they would just pick up my worm and move it without ever getting the hook. I'm still waiting on the big emales to get into their groove so I can get some o them to tug on my line a little. Too bad or the kids that we could not get into the crappie. Last year when they came up it was one o those deals when you catch them until you get tired o them. Lots o nice bass will come up with them too and eat on the smaller crappie while they are shallow.

Report: Launched out of Markely at 6 am. Fished inside Markley cove split shotting magic worms for about an hour, got one largemouth, 1.5#. moved out to fish main points outside the cove, got 5 more, all small spots. 2 caught on magic worms, one caught ripping rapala huskey jerk. Drove across to the cappell creek arm, to fish the hazard island. Wind started to pick up, but I stuck with it, split shotting magic worms, and managed to pick up 6 smallies off the island. Tried another island further inside cappell to no avail. Pulled the boat out at noon, not a bad day. 12 fish, no size, but still fun! Devin
      City: Vacaville

Tips: Fish are acting very strange for this time of year. I see hatchlings in the backs of coves, so I know the fish are pretty much spawned out, but I am not reading fish anywhere on the finder. I really hope they have not gone deep yet. If so, its gonna be a LONG SLOW summer at berryessa!
