Report: Four o us ished rom 6:00am till just ater 8:00pm. I hooked one ish @ 6:30am but lost it. Seemed airly large but never saw it. We were ishing near the boat ramp by the dam. Hooked mine on an inlated crawler. We were also using power bait, salmon eggs and marshmellows. Ater 4 hours with one ish we went to eat at the Kopper Kettle in Chester, great ood-highlite o the trip, and then rented a boat trolled till around 6 with no bites but didn't have downriggers or leadcore so...then still ished mouth o Hamilton Branch till we turned in the boat. Never saw a single ish caught all day. I have been ishing over orty years and almost every Fri. or the last ive. This was the worst ishing trip I've had in years catch wise. Do not believe the reports o this being a premiere ishing destination. And i you check you'll notice the reports rom the Sports Nut are always the same. This is a beautiul area but the ishing sucks.

Tips: Plan on hiring a guide i you do go to Almanor aparently some garaunty a ish or your money back.

Report: Had a great week at the lake, but the ishing was very poor. Went out every morning around 6:30- 9:00.I threw literally everything with very little success.Probably threw twenty dierent plastic baits on darterheads and split-shot rigs and never hooked up.Tried Senkos,Ricos, crankbaits, jerkbaits, spinnerbaits with no success. The only ish I caught were on a 1/8 oz jig w/ yamamoto 4'' double-tail grub. One three pound Smallie and a two and a hal pound same.I believe the ish are gorging on the pond smelt, they are everywhere you look and must be easy- pickens because the ish were deinetely not hungry.
    City: Granite Bay Ca.

Tips: Try the evening trout ishing on the West bank. The hex are still hatching and we caught 3 lb trout on split shot crickets without spending much time trying. All decent size rainbows.
