Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Spent the day on the water today aboard Champ Driver's Champion fish n' ski. Great day outside, but the fishing was really tough. I managed to dropshot 2 Bass, 1lb, and 2+lbs on a 4" pb&j Action Baits worm. That was it for the day as far as Bass go. I also managed to crank a 10lb Carp....got him right in the dorsal. Wrong species though!!
City: San MateoTips: Dropshot/shake worms in 25-35'.

Water Temp: ???
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: First time on the lake in sometime. Caught 11 fish on Spoons, swimbaits and dropshot rigs. Bite was good once you find them. The fish are spread out all over the lake but were better concentrated on the main lake points. Needed some crayfish to catch the toads I was seeing on the graph, but I'm not a live bait kind of guy. Fish I caught were from a 1 1/2 - 3 pounds and were looking pretty fat. Middle of the lake has fish busting shad but they are hard to stay with and move before you can set up on them. Don't recommend you waisting time on them unless they are really killing them and not moving to fast. Fish were on the bank and down to 30-36' in good numbers. Deeper than that and the numbers of them together were more sparse. Fished from 11AM to 4:30PM. Bite got better as the sun got lower. I'm sure the early AM would be good too.

Report: Are there still fish in this lake? Launched at 8:30, fished till 4:45.....caught 1 13 incher on a c-rigged worm, and that was it!! I tried lots of other techniques, no luck. I saw other guys catch some fish....I think it was just one of those days for me. Next time I'll hit the Delta.
City: San MateoTips: Fish somewhere else.

Water Temp: 61
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Pretty good action right away when the lake first opened....had a few bites and caught 3 in the first half hour. The action slowed to a crawl for the rest of the day, as I boated only 3 more and my partner 1. My biggest was about 2 1/4lbs; the rest were just average. I tried LOTS of baits but the only one that produced was a carolina rigged 4" P&J worm from Action Baits. I also missed one on a jig, and my partner got his only fish on a speedtrap. All in all it was tough-fair for most people. Weather was perfect...calm, cloudy, showery, with minimal boat traffic.
City: San MateoTips: Carolina rig 4" worms 15'-35'; get there early.

Report: We'll I've just started to fish bass, my first love is trout, steelhead and salmon. New to the South Bay and all my favorite spots four hours away I decided I need to learn to fish local and that means learning to fish bass. Sunday night 5-7 pm, I pitched a crawdad lure for the first hour no luck? switched to a top water pencil and small hula poper, again no luck. Talked to guy who caught a 3lber on a grub fished very slow in close to the bank. Going to fish slower lures next time. Again I'm new to the SJ area and don't have a boat at this time, if anyone is looking for someone to fish with on weekends or early am weekdays I'm willing to split the gas just send an email.

Report: Finnally caught one of those big fishes at calero. Did it on a strike king buzzer over weed beds. that was the only fish i got but it was worth it. the beast weighed in at 8.46. get there early and work any top water is what seems to be working for this lake the last 3 months i've been fishing it. by far the most productive lake in the southbay, only if those damn jet skiers would keep there damn distance.
City: san joseTips: didnt mean to sound angry there. try poppers on a slow retrieve if you dont pick up any on the buzz action.

Water Temp: mid 50's
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fishing at Calero is pretty good - no complaints - bagged a few largemouths (3.5lbs and 4lbs). "Reality," maybe the "females" weren't biting for you because your rig was a little derisory for their tastes, rookie.

Water Temp: 72 degrees
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: I fished Calero east from the launch ramp all the way to Cherry Cove from 9:00 A.M. til 6:30 P.M., the fishing was consistent with 14 fish ranging from 10"-19" until 12:30 when the bite shut out. The fishing picked up again around 3:00. They were caught a green pumpkin split shot worm fished in 15-30 foot of water. I hope my report will help you to have even greater success! Good Luck!
City: Los GatosTips: It seems that the fish are going into the Fall bite mode, (with outside temperature being in the low 80's) the fish are moving up into the shallower water. Don't be affraid to fish to shallow!
