    Water Temp: 52

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Very wet and kind of windy on the lake today. Still had a great time though! I caught a 4 1/2, a 2 1/2, and a 2 all on a chart/white spinnerbait w/ white colorado blade, and also got a 2 on a black/blue Vyper Jig. I also missed one shaking a 6" Zipper Shakin Worm off a point. Great fun today catching fish on blades in February!!
    City: San Mateo

Tips: Spike your lure with a little Kickin' Bass scent, it helps!

    Water Temp: 51

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: The water has slightly cleared up since last week, but the bite was a little tough. I fished from 12-4:30 and managed to catch 3....a 3.5lber on a white/chart spinnerbait w/ white colorado blade, a 2 1/4lber on a purple Rodstrainer Jig, and a 2lber on a Zipper. I also missed one on the Zipper, and one on the Jig. I talked to another guy who had 5, and he said his friend had 15....not sure if I believe that though!!
    City: San Mateo

Tips: Reel your spinnerbait just fast enough to keep the blade turning, while the bait is making bottom contact w/ rocks. Try white or chartreuse Colorado blades in the murky water.

    Water Temp: ?

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: I had one bite fishing jigs and spider grubs in 5 to 40 feet of water. Swing and a miss. Caught the only fish of the day on double colorado spinnerbait. Fished from 2 to dusk.
    City: So. San Francisco

Tips: I was fishing the spinnerbait real slow, just fast enough to keep the blades spinning. The fish was on a point in 5 feet of water.

    Water Temp: n/a

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Recent heavy rains have muddied up the lake considerably, and also raised the water level a few feet. Visibility was about 6 inches. I fished from 11-4:30 today and found an overall tough bite. I managed 2, one 1 1/2lber, and one pushing 3lbs. The fish hit on a purple/brown Zipper worm, texas rigged, with Kickin Bass Scent. I also missed 2 good thunks on a small Rodstrainer football jig w/ Yamamoto trailer. I think I couldve caught 1 or 2 more fish, but the yuppies in their ski boats were thrashing the water pretty good.
    City: San Mateo

Tips: Work the bait VERY slow right now in these muddy conditions, and try to use some sort of scent.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Fished Friday the 28th from 9am to 4pm. Water was extremely muddy which made it interesting. Caught five fish, biggest was 2.6lbs. Caught 2 on a white double-willow (biggest blades I had) spinnerbait. Both were in about 5ft. Caught 2 on a black/blue 1/2 oz. jig with black/blue plastic trailer. Hopping it on a rocky drop off in about 10ft. of water. Last one came dragging/drifting a c-rig zipper worm. Lost another on the c-rig (too slow). My first time fishing Calero this muddy. It was a nice change. Also threw spider grubs on jig heads with no luck. Tried a couple different crankbaits as well, and a rattletrap, no luck.
    City: San Jose

Tips: Slow rolling a spinnerbait with large blades was the most fun. Only two hits on the spinnerbait, but they were aggressive. Oklahoma blades would probably work best. Move a lot of water, or pick a noisy bait to get their attention.

    Water Temp: 50

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Spent an afternoon out today from 1-4:30. Caught 3 2lbers right in the first 20 minutes of fishing...I got one of them on my first cast! The bite died after that, and I finally hooked, and lost one around 3lbs about 2 hours later by the spillway. So 4 hooked, and 3 2lbers landed...still not a bad day though. I was using a texas rigged purple zipper worm and also threw a jig without luck.
    City: San Mateo

Tips: Fish slow, the fish are still on a very light bite!!!

    Water Temp: 50

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Great day on the water today. Fished from 12-4 in warm, flat calm conditions, under overcast skies. Boated a 1 1/2, two 2 1/2's, a 3, and a lunker 7lber. That 7lber is my biggest Bass ever!! All the fish hit on Texas-Rigged Zipper Grubs. I noticed the guys with live minnows today were doing extremely well fishing deep off points.
    City: San Mateo

Tips: Use a very slow presentation, and concentrate at all times. The bite was very light.

    Water Temp: 47-50F

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Headed out on the last Bass adventure of 99' w/ friend and fellow nutcase Rus today. We fished from 9:30am-3:15pm and found an overall tough bite, as did most everyone else. I wound up missing 4 fish, landing 3 14inchers, and losing a real nice 5lber right at boatside. I caught all the fish on a texas rigged Zipper. Rus caught 2 14inchers, and missed another bite. He got 1 on the Zipper, and the other on a brown Rodstrainer jig. We caught fish all the way from 10'-30' deep today....it was not a typical wintertime pattern out there. I even saw a couple fish caught on blades by one boater. Lake level is very low, with barren, featureless banks all around. Flat calm all day.
    City: San Mateo

Tips: Use Zippers and Jigs and hop/crawl them VERY slowly on the bottom. Experiment with depths from 1'-35' deep...there ARE fish up on the bank periodically through the day. Try cranking the banks early, or if the wind is blowing.

    Water Temp: 50 F

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Brent and I kick boated today from about 10AM - 4PM. The fishing was better, but still not anything to get excited about. Beautiful day, light breeze, warm... I ended up with 4 fish to 2 lbs, and Brent got 2 more with a nice 4 lber. We found a lot of fish from 0 to 40 feet of water but had difficulty making them bite. I ended up getting the most bites on a drop shotted worm, but they were ripping off the worm or blowing it out half the time. We also stuck 2 nice fish on crankbaits before we left in an area that we had just worked over hard with jigs and plastics.
    City: Mountain View

Tips: We graph a lot of deep fish, but can't figure out how to make them bite. The shallow fish are biters, but also seem to be affected by fishing pressure easily.

    Water Temp: 51

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Kick boated with Brent from about 10 to 4 today. Skunked! Whatever put the fish up on the bank on Wednesday wasn't happening today. Wind was blowing hard all day. It felt like I spent more time trying to position my kickboat than getting any fishing done. Got one good thunker on a jig and set the hook into the trailer. Brent caught two small fish split and drop shotting in deep water.

    Water Temp: 49-50

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Picked up a couple of small fish on a Football Jighead with a Yamamoto Twin Tail Grub, Purple Smoke color. Fishing from the bank to the deeps, getting hit in about 20 - 25 feet of water. A fellow I spoke with said, he got a few early cranking a red firetiger speed trap right on the bank. I got blown off the lake at 11:30. PS: The lake is really low!
    City: San Jose

Tips: SLOW, SLOW, SLOW, your personal choice of deepwater confidence bait.
