Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Left work a littl early Friday and fished Calero/Bailey cove area. Caught 5 from 1.5 to 2.5 lbs spinnerbaiting shoreline. Fish really nailed bait, felt much larger than they actually were. Saw several other fish caught, all pretty much clones of each other. All bucks, looks to be first wave of fish moving shallow. Should get better if weather gives us a break.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished from 11 to dusk. Jimmy caught 2 (both about 3.5 lbs). He skunked me again. He caught both on jigs in about 15 feet of water on rocky bottom.
    City: So San Francisco

Tips: Fish your jig slowly. Jimmy would let it sit still for a minute or so. Fish the rocks. Give likely areas several casts.

    Water Temp: low 50's

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Had a real productive day on the water today, but it didn't start out that way. I started fishing at 12 noon, by missing a good bite flipping a tree w/ a jig. Continued down the bank and fished some small rock, where I picked up 1 on a jig, then 1 on a zipper. Those were my only bites until 4pm!! Then I found a bank that was stacked with fish!! In the next hour I caught 6 fish, and missed 4 or 5 good thunks. I was throwing a Rodstrainer Jig in 10'-20' of water. Only problem with today was that all the fish were small, right around 2lbs, but there were alot of them.
    City: San Mateo

Tips: Unsettled post frontal conditions made the afternoon bite tough. Fish slow, and try slightly deeper water.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished Calero Saturday (2/19) - midday for a couple of hours. One bite, one bass, one pound. Still beats watching TV. Fish hit a mojo-rigged 4 inch black/chartreuse tail power worm. Tossed rattle trap, bigger plastics, not a bite. Conditions were good, just couldn't find fish that were active.

    Water Temp: The magic finge

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Got up too late to take the boat up to the delta so drove on down to Calero for some bank fishin'. Hadn't been there in about 15 years so couldn't remember any bottom features. In order to be productive as possible, I set up a camp chair about 100' south of the ramp to be able to enjoy any Ramp Follies. :) Had several bites and actually caught a coupla 2 pounders by dragging a watermelon brush hog across the bottom. This area was fairly flat, about 2-3' deep, with what felt like small rocks. Water was muddy due to two ski boats that were out there. The nibbles fell off about 3 PM and I tried the point north of the ramp. Too weedy and too shallow. Went over and walked the bank from the dam down to the picnic area and got a coupla half-hearted bites, still on the brush hog. Saw Sea Ray or C-Rig (??????) getting into his tube when I first got there. Any luck? The ranger came around, carded me, and asked what I had caught. Said he had heard everyone was doing well with 2-5 basses each, even with the rain. Nice to see a ranger take an interest in the fishing! Can't tell you if this was a good or bad day for Calero but the weather was nice and it was a LOT better'n getting skunked! Sorry, no Ramp Follies to report. Bill
    City: San Jose

Tips: Bring a watercraft! The small rock wall almost directly across the pond from the ramp seemed to be a popular place. Also, get outta bed early enough to get your boat in the water!!! <:-

    Water Temp: 55

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Water was muddy, but had close to a foot visibility. Gorgeous weather today, calm, clear, and warm. Water temp has come up a bit as a result. I had a fun day on the water today. Started off by flipping a 4lber on a black/blue Vyper Jig in thick brush. Continued down the bank and caught 3 1 1/2 lbers in about 10 casts on a chart/white slow rolled spinnerbait. Picked up the jig again and stuck a 2 1/4 lber on some adjacent rocks. That was my last hit for about 2 hours, when I finally caught my last fish, a 3 lber on the jig off a point. All in all another very enjoyable day on the water!!
    City: San Mateo

Tips: Use scent in the muddy water and fish slowly.

    Water Temp: 50's

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Fished today across from the launch ramp using a sixteen inch Delong worm in scuppernong. I caught one fish that weighed four pounds and missed another. The key is to stitch your bait. In response to "Cyberfish" I have been fishing since you were in pampers. Oh, you also need to change the date on your fishing report it is incorrect.
    City: San Jose

Tips: Pick up a copy of "In Pursuit Of Giant Bass". Perspectives on big bass fishing by the king himself "Bill Murphy".

    Water Temp: 50's

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I fished at Calero on the first of the month and bagged a 2.5 lb quality largemouth on a jig fished in about eight feet of water. From shore It didn't look like boaters were catching any fish at all. Cold fronts continue to halt the larger females into taking my offerings on the points. With a couple of warm days in a row I'll be catching some kicker fish. GLX, your reports are fishy I want to see some pictures.
    City: San Jose

Tips: All I have to say is crawfish anyone!

    Water Temp: 52-54

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished friday from 9am until noon. Managed four fish, largest going 2.3lbs, other three were, 1.8, 1.9, and 1.9. Yes, I caught some "elusive" one-pounders. Seems from these reports, there aren't any one-pound fish in Calero anymore. Actually, it's probably my ability. All fish were caught in a small flat area, between 10:30am and 11:15am. All were in about 4-5ft. of water. All on small, shallow, chartreuse crankbait fished as slow as possible once it was down. Fished plastics, blades, no luck with either. Wind was heavy and it rained off and on the whole time.
    City: San Jose

Tips: Don't listen to me. I catch more small fish, than large fish. Hmm, imagine that.

Report: Very wet and kind of windy on the lake today. Still had a great time though! I caught a 4 1/2, a 2 1/2, and a 2 all on a chart/white spinnerbait w/ white colorado blade, and also got a 2 on a black/blue Vyper Jig. I also missed one shaking a 6" Zipper Shakin Worm off a point. Great fun today catching fish on blades in February!!

Tips: Spike your lure with a little Kickin' Bass scent, it helps!
