Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Tried for an encore to Anderson's hot bite over the hill at Calero. On the water at 745 (they were open early!!!!!) and headed to the big cove in the back, caught 5 up to 3 lbs. then started to move arround the entire puddle. My buddy Jared and I ended the day with 17 fish all on dropshot. Another productive day on the lake my best day here at calero. Got pretty windy with the storm front moving in so i called it a day.
    City: Watsonville

Tips: fish in 10-20 feet and keep your bait moving eraticly then poause and they will hit it.

    Water Temp: 45

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: It's been tough for me lately. I did catch 4 good size fish in 40 feet of water but dang!!! had to work really hard for them. The shallow fish didn't want to play with me on this particular day. Maybe my presentation was yucky . Tried everything in the box for shallow fish but no love........ Oh!, by the way leave Zack alone. Stop crying and fish alot. Tips don't guarantee catches. Don't get so caught up on tips. You need to stop crying and put tons of fishing time in to learn how to catch Bass or any other fish for that matter.
    City: San Jose

Tips: Fish are shallow and deep. Stop being a cry-baby and catch some fish. Maybe then you can give tips too instead of other fishermen/women doing all the hard work for you. Tips!!!? I usually catch the trophy bass here in about 15 feet or less on slow crawled plastics.

    Water Temp: 45-46

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Got to the lake at around 8:30 and there was a steady cold wind coming from the north that really made things tough..started out fishing the island to the right of the launch..started in 40 ft and worked all the way into about 23 ft with no hits at all..dragged a hula grub and 6 inch robo..also fished a dropshot along with the occasional casts with the rip bait just trying to put something together, fished both sides of the island with nothing and then started hitting the points with the same baits and started out deep working our way in..finally after about 2 hrs with nothing i hooked up with a 2.5 in about 30-35 ft dragging the hula, thought we may have been onto something..only hooked up one more time dragging the hula grub on a diff point in about the same depth, but the fish weighed 3.4 so it was a little better...but that was it
    City: Salinas

Tips: i wish i had some..i talked to one guy who said they caught 11 but with the conditons of how they were i kind of doubt it..wait for a low pressure system to come though and it would help the bite a lot, i just wasnt able to really put anything together..have fun out there

    Water Temp: 46.5

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Air temperature was nice, but the water was frigid. I thought my sonar might be misreading the actual temperature considering it was reported 53 degrees near the end of December 2006. Guys in boat reported same temperature (47 degrees) in post below so at least my sonar is accurate.

Anyway I got two bites and managed to catch a 2.5 lb bass at 2:50 pm on a black/blue jig. Fished from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Report: Boat ramp closed! Totally sucked, been planning trip for weeks, get there, ramp is closed. I have a small boat, but main ranger dude basically would not even consider me had launching my boat. Fished dam and shoreline anyway, no fish. What's going on with this lake? Probably a good thing fishing is poor, bit a break from pressure, and all the friggin trash tha accumulates on the shores. Fisherpeople, please don't litter, and even better, take some out with you.
