    Water Temp: 59

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Got on the lake around 2:00 P.M. and fished until sundown. First cast my dad nailed a two pounder on a skinny watermelon 4 inch senko and I was like "cool" maybe I'll try that. So my dad got skunked the rest of the day because he caught a fish the first cast, you know "bad luck". I ended up catching around ten bass, biggest going three pounds and a couple of twos and the rest were dinks. We got in trouble for staying on the lake too long because I was having a blast, but it all worked out.
    City: Prunedale

Tips: Get to the lake early and get those active fish with spinnerbaits and crankbaits and later in the day slow down with plastics and jigs. Oh yeah, lake is really low because they are draining it for the winter rains. Fish rocky points, every one you see, there is fish on them. You have to find them.

    Water Temp: 63

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished for a few hours in the morning. Started out throwing cranks and blades with no takers. Switched to dropshot and ended up with 3 smallish fish. They were all in water 22-26 ft. deep.
    City: San Jose

Tips: It has been tough out here. Fish are in typical deep water fall pattern. Dropshot or vertical spooning seem to be the best bets.

    Water Temp: 67 degrees

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: The topwater bite has slowed some, but , you can still get some. We need some more of those overcast mornings. The crank bite should start very soon. Once the water cool's a little bit more those fish should go on the bite. Not all the big fish are deep!
    City: San Jose

Tips: Go to Clear Lake it's on all the 5lb'ers you want!!!

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: i thought the crankbait would really produce but NOT!!! maybe i chose the wrong spot to fish or wrong color to fish. anyways, jigs did the trick for me again but not too many fish or size. hey, at least i didn't get skunked . nice to be out in nature? yeah, right! i hate being out there and getting skunked. i like to catch fish period!!! the bass were tight up against the weeds for me . deep water only produced crappie which i'm not complaining about.
    City: san jose

Tips: try marios topwater approach and punching the weeds. i still believe the bigger bass are 20+ feet deep most of the day. just can't get them to bite.

Report: The lake was unbelieveable this morning. It was dead calm and the water was like glass. There were only a handfull of boats and most of those were fishing. The fish were biting around the weeds on roboworms and senkos. I caught 6 small ones and lost about that many in the 2 1/2 hours I was there.

    Water Temp: 73.5-74.5

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Hit south end at 8 sun was already shining, but calm as could be. NO WIND! Tossed new silver and blue spook for about 10 casts when a four to four and a half pounder killed it. I hesitated for a split second, then set the hook. MY LINE BROKE half way between the lure and the rod :( Tied an old balsa wood top water lure on and had two more blow ups but only one to the boat. About 2 3/4. Texas rigged 6" Yum straight worm in the weeds gave me 3 more fish. All great keepers, the biggest weighing 3 pounds.
    City: Salinas

Tips: Always check your line for nicks and rough spots.

    Water Temp: 74-75

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: We fished the shallow South end from 4:30 until closing. We threw topwater frogs over the top and in between the mats. We had 6 blowups but only 2 fish. Both were in the 2 lb. range. It was a little windy for topwater and the ranger asked us to leave as soon as the action was picking up.
    City: San Jose

Tips: Looks like most of the action is still in the deeper water...unless you can get out early or late in the day. They sure don't like boats on the water during either of these times, however.

Caught one about 3 + lbs - fat and healthy - on a watermelon/green/red senko and missed several short strikes (bluegills??) using a smoke/hologram senko. Talked to a few fellows catching fish drop shotting red roboworms. Fish seem to be in deeper water.
