Water Temp: 51
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished in an and around the openings of Franks on the last 2 hours of the outgoing. Caught 15 fish all 2-3# with one 4.5# on drop shots and black/blue jig. Couldn't buy a reaction fish. Kept trying all day, blades, traps, rips, you name it. If I would have stuck w. the jig fishing would have caught alot more.
City: san ramonTips: Once you establish a pattern stick with it. Fish deep and slow in the winter. Wadda jigs black or brown

Water Temp: 52-54
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: One of my club buddys had fished on the previous wednesday and of course it was a classic "you should have been there, the fishing was wide open." But by Sunday winter has set in and bites were hard to come by. In on and off cold rain and variable winds we picked up about 13 - 15 fish. We could have caught more fish, but I was swinging for the fences (that trick just never works) Taking the bigger meal strategy produced a few fish, but nothing over 4 pounds. But even on this cold and wet day, we had a great time and know that the weather will warm and the spawn is just weeks away.
My partner, an excellent fisherman, settled into a compact black/blue jig with good success on a difficult day. One of his fish showed early stages of a belly coming in.
If any of you would like to join us, we fish with the Devil Mountain Bassmaster www.dmbass.com out of Walnut Creek. Devil Mountain offers a more social form of tournament fishing. Our next meeting is Wednesday March 7, at 7:00 or feel free to give me a call at 925-639-7724 for more information.
City: Walnut CreekTips: If you want numbers, a compact Black/blue jig, if you want weight, hold off a few days for a warming trend.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Launched today with my cousin about 6 am and started out fishing north of 8 mile road. Started with spinnerbait with no luck until my cousin landed a 3 pounder and several minutes later a one pounder. Got up to some junk that was blown against the banks and started flipping a brush hog. Second flip and landed a 4 and a half. Then it went quiet until we came across some tule island that was killing my crank and my cousin's rattletrap. Left and right we was just killing them. Lost count of the fishes caught. It was going good until the trolling motor gave out. It sucks to leave when the bite is on and there are still a couple of hours of light left.
Tips: For spinnerbait, four bladed worked better than double blade. For brush hog, watermelon red. For cranks, let me just say crawdad color. Work the baits fast....

Water Temp: 53-56
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Pre fished thurs down south. Got a 6-11 on a swimbait in deep water but not another bite on it. Started cranking a rock wall and stuck a toad, crushing bite, came straight off the bank and I can't remember LM ever pullin that hard... but I'll never know how big since she came unbuttoned before I got a look. Part of me thinks it may have been a big striper, who knows... a few other small fish here and there but no real pattern. Tossed a big blade to outside weedlines at low tide and stuck two 4's. Fri I headed to the break. Went to pitching a brush hog and boated two fours and a 7-2 in one area but couldn't get on em good anywhere else. Switched to a blade and stuck a few 2's and another 4 putting me around 20lbs for 5. Game day we went back to the flip spot and decide we would live or die there, we died. One four, one break off (still kicking myself for that one)and a few small keeps giving us a small 12lb bag. Winners had 28lbs with a 12 and an 8.

Water Temp: 53-56
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Launched at Rivers End and it was windy "again" Sure makes it hard to figure out with 25mph winds. Caught about 8 fish today 3 on a wht/cht spinnerbait and 5 on a speed trap. Most of the fish today were good quality 3-lbs plus and I lost a big one. Got some in Victoria on the rocks and the others were just here or there. We did get a few good ones way off the bank on the out going tide. A tough day but the quality is getting better. Spend a long time fishing way down old river and never got bit.
City: MartinezTips: With the cooling weather the bite is slowing fish both the spinnerbait and the crank very slow. www.ezbass.com

Water Temp: 55-57
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: It's been real good. Today another 3.5 with 2 2's and a bunch of keepers. Started catchin some smaller fish only because we got blown off the points and were forced to fish shallower. Still a real strong bite despite the wind. It's fishin like March in Feb!
Tips: Best fish were in deeper water. 3/8 min for the windy water. See yall next weekend...unless...

Water Temp: 53.5-56
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Launched at Orowood due to the wind. I fished a 1/4 delta craw speed trap most all morning got a 3.5 and 4.5 right away than some small one 1-2.5lbs about 9 for the day. Bite was pretty good when the tide was falling but on the incoming the bite slowed. The better fish the last few days have come on the pause or a deflection and only little ones on the straight retrieve. It was hard to cast with a 37 mph wind today I fished a lot of new stuff and the fish were on the leeward side. And near deeper water the fish aren't up in the slot yet.
City: MartinezTips: Yesterday we got 20 throwing white, wht/cht, red/blk and it didn't seem to matter what color the bait was you had to hit something.

Water Temp: 54-55.5 degrees
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: It's been almost 2 months since I've been out on the river, launched from Orwood and fished from there until the mouth of kellog creek, struggled quite a bit, caught 3 on a jig to 2 lbs, in about 3 hours, motored back to orwood and started with a a 1/4 oz. speed trap and caught 7-8 fish in the last 1/2 hour to 3.5 lbs, a little pause now and then on the retrieve triggered them.
City: OakleyTips: Hell if I know, just throw until something works.

Water Temp: 54-57
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: 3:45 p.m. launch until dark with 7 keepers, best 3.5 lbs. No giants but all were good fish. A couple of 2 pounders as well.Red color around the mouth...hmmm.Not sure why. The 3.5 had a belly of eggs. It was like 70 something degrees outside. Saw guys fishin/scouting for beds.Incomming tide.Been catchin em in all tide conditions. On fire with 7 fish in 2 hours!Git em!
Tips: All my fish came on points with good dropoffs to 15 feet and current. Texas riggin plastic with 3/8 weight to get it deep. Jig did get me 2 but most action came driftin the plastic.Bass bite is hot if you can find em.Don't overlook the deeper/faster water. The fish are there.Good luck!

Water Temp: 54.5
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Absolutely beautiful day on Disappointment Slough. (7 am till noon) Fishing not so great. One small bass and one small striper on red/black/yellow Rat-L-Trap. Tried up close to the tullies. Tried outside the weedlines. Tried spinnerbaits, Senkos, jigs, creatures etc. Nada. The one bass did come out of the tullies so maybe they are beginning to move up. Had fun anyway.
City: StocktonTips: Gotta keep your lines wet....

Water Temp: 54-56.5
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Only had 4 bites for three fish, Big fish was a 7.5 on a crank bait the other two fish were 3.? and a 2.0 found lots of fished stacked up in the mouths of marinas, and deeper water say 20' but couldnt get them to do anything.
Some more sun light and these fish will move right up on the bank. The day before we went out the pond was pushing out huge weights.
City: AntelopeTips: Slow down, look for deepwater access, fish the points. Pay very close attention to water temp!

Water Temp: 52-53
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Guide trip up north, should have known it would be too muddy for the smallies. But we tried anyway "none" However we did venture into a couple of marina at the end of steamboat and caught a few largemouth. 2 on a wht/green radar 10, 1 on a chrome speed trap and one on a persuader spinnerbait. the fish were 1.5 to 2. lbs
City: MartinezTips: Hidden harbor was the best one all the way in the back. Some guy tried to run me out saying it was a private marina. I informed that was impossible (verified w/the sheriff later that day) The guy was slinging the f word around, then frustrated he told his wife and she came down and started throwing rocks. Wak O..! I told her she was whacked out. Hidden Harbor right at the mouth of Steamboat and the main river just up from Rio Vista. Stop in and say hi! :-) I will post a pic of the Wak O

Water Temp: 51-53
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Launched at Wimpy's at 7:30 AM and found some clear water at Sycamore's tule islands. Caught 7 fish to 5lbs most on black jig with red trailer swimming it near tules and over weeds tops. Windy points produced biggest fish. Quit about noon.
City: SacramentoTips: Caught most fish 2-3 feet from tules on windy/current sides. Targeted tule points and breaks.

Water Temp: 53ish
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Targeted flooded islands and FINALLY got on some fish, they are definitely starting to stage. Caught all our fish on a chrome /red rattletrap. All fish were caught in wind blown banks, couldn't buy a fish with no chop on the water. Fished from 11:00 to 5ish, tide was filling to slack. Boated 7 fish to 3 pounds, 5 keepers, 3 smalls for about 10 pounds. Fished the south.
City: HayweirdTips: Flooded islands out of river channels and red w/ chrome traps.

Water Temp: 49-51
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Late post but launched bout 9:30 a.m.Tried rocks banks and weeds up close and found no fish there. Wind/rain real strong. Found some shelter and fish a dropoff in current and caught 5 in 45 mins.2 pound was biggest but the rest were keepers cept 1. Only spent 2 and a half hours...weather bad...fishin good.
Tips: I suggest goin often now. Temps are right and the fish that are on those points now will be movin up soon. Yeah...gettin a little muddy so make a little noise. Good luck.

Water Temp: 50.5
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Launched out B&W fished our waty to Franks and Mildred. Tried dropshotting some tules with small ledges picking up one fish on an arons' magic fat worm. Made our way back to Franks hitting a few fish on Voo-Doo baits in the delta pattern. We were targetting shallow tule coves. The reaction bite is definately starting to turn on, talking to a couple other guys and they agreed with having success on blades and ripbaits.

Water Temp: 48-50
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: One person guide trip for an Elite angler we mostly looked around but stopped to fish a couple of times. Got three fishing for about two hours total. One on speed trap crystalcraw, one on a brn jig and one one a bomber red/blk and missed one on the bomber. The fish were on the edge to deep water with a little current and all were near 2 lbs
City: MartinezTips: We didn't fish very slow however I think more fish would have been caught if you slowed down with the cold water. It's nice to catch a couple of fish after Havasu.....!!!
