    Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

    Report: Fished the north side of Mildred island around Whiskey slough. Action was hot on sub 2lb bass. Best action was on rock levee points with some tulies. I was throwing a craw colored flat sided crankbait. Probably caught 25 and could have caught that many more if I just focused on that pattern all day. I was looking for larger fish so I was flipping the bases of tule clumps with a creature bait. I was catching the same size fish but working a lot harder for them and they seemed to be lethargic with a lot less fight in them compared to the crankbait fish.
    Not sure what the larger fish were doing but I could not catch them like in previous trips.

    Water Temp: 59-62. degrees
    Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
    Report: Put out high tide out of Big Break on Sunday, 7AM. Not much wind, water temperature around 59.5 most of the day, 62 degrees in the back sloughs. Caught about 6 large mouth bass during the outgoing tide on wacky-rigged worms. Most were in the 2 pound range with biggest about 3 pounds, once the wind picked up. Was also out last Thursday. Not much of a morning bite (was out at 7AM each day) and didn't see first fish until after 9AM. I think we need another 4 or 5 degrees in water temperature before we see a substantial increase in numbers.
    Tips: Slow and wacky is the way to go, dark colors.

    Launched at 8:15 out of Russo's, water was 52 degrees. Got four bites shallow around harder tule clumps but couldn't get 'em to the boat (Ratl Trap & Jig). Switched to a Senko around noon and started getting bites (video below). Switched to drop shot and got even more bites including a 4 lber. that didn't make it onto the GoPro. Caught nine for the day of which 7 would have kept. Water was just over 56 degrees when I left at 3:30. Yet another great day on my beautiful Delta.

    Anyone else got a report from yesterday? Just curious to see if there's something I'm missing, e.g., fishing too shallow, targeting wrong structure/cover?

    Report: From Dans Delta Outdoors
    Delta Report…. Big Black Bass, Plentiful Crappie and warming temperatures! Mc Gruder Studs!
    Isleton Water temps raised a bit this week and a few more stripers in the Cache Slough area responded. Catfish started stirring in dead end sloughs, Cut Baits and Crawlers get the top call. Sturgeon remains the focus here. Diamondback anglers are heading to 41, Liberty and Cache Slough areas with roe and eel reporting success.
    Rio Vista- A few more Small stripes and occasionally, a 10-pounder is caught. Eel continues to lead the way for sturgeon anglers in front of Collinsville. Rio Vista Pier also is scoring both species. The best place to score a striped bass or sturgeon remains below Decker Island in the area of the Power Lines at Light 14 and the Red Barn, where boaters anchor and use threadfin shad or Red’s Bloody Eel.

    Walnut Grove . Most are sturgeon fishing now with eel and cured ghost shrimp. Trolling for stripers cracking the 10 pound plus keeps anglers hopes up. Bank anglers tossing shad and eel prevail for an occasional sturgeon or Striper those looking for bigger bites.

    Discovery Bay As water temps reach mid-fifties the black bass bite is getting started! Most Blackie anglers are sticking with jigs and slow rolling blades searching ledges near sparse tuie flats. Others looking to beat the clear conditions ares tarting to crank Red-Eye Shad and Big Poppa’s. Keeper sized stripes are grabbing Bad Bubba Shad a bit more this week ..

    Frank’s Tract Like a army marching forward the black bass bite is getting on track at a consistent pace. Skinny Dippers, Swim Jigs and Dragon Fly jigs are great options while Orange Bobby D’s spinnerbaits get the mentioned as well. We found a few Stripers and Black Bass with Jigs, vibrating jigs and Red Eye Shad.
    West Delta Sturgeon Still leads the way. Eel is the best bait over all, but roe and shad also scoring diamondbacks Broad slough and surrounding cuts. There were many shaker sturgeon reports and double hook ups. Bouy 18 at Collinsville West to Honker Bay has been best. There were few shaker stripers and keepers in the area. The stripers starting to show anchovies and sardines in many areas, bank anglers, Antioch Pier and along Sherman Island rd.
    Contra Loma - Black bass have been biting on artificial baits/lures and nightcrawlers around the lake. Try a wake bait or a party crasher. Trout fishing is still good at the east side, north side of lake or from a boat with nightcrawlers, Power Eggs, or mice tails. Try fishing at Channel Point, Loma Island or from a boat with nightcrawlers or chicken liver.. Try fishing for Crappie or Bluegill with jigs or worms at the boat ramp area, Loma Island or Channel Point area.

    Report: Delta Report…. Big Black Bass, Plentiful Crappie and warming temperatures! Fitzgerald GIANT!
    Isleton Water temps raised a bit this week and a few stripers in the Cache Slough area responded. Catfish started stirring in dead end sloughs, Cut Baits and Crawlers get the top call. Sturgeon remains the focus here. Diamondback anglers are heading to 41, Liberty and Cache Slough areas with roe and eel reporting success.
    Rio Vista- Small stripes and occasionally, a 10-pounder is caught. Eel continues to lead the way for sturgeon anglers in front of Collinsville. Rio Vista Pier also is scoring both species.

    Report: From Coochs Fishing
    So I git out with my buddy Nathan and his new to bass fishing neighbor SJ, put a dropshot in his hand and his first ever bass is about a 1 pounder, two more one pounders and at 2:00 he's asking if the bait he has will catch any more fish today, so I take his Robo worm off and replace it with an Iovino S20w Spade, very first pitch he pops a new personal best of 10 lb 4oz Delta pig! Tough fishin today for us, had plenty of bites, but only managed ta put in the boat SJ's 4 fish, a Big Hammer fish fer Nathan, three small Senko fish and the 9lb 9oz fish I stuck on a Wadda Jig round 8:30am! A 10 & a 9, we'll take that!

    Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

    Report: Launched out of Rivers end at 09;00. Had to go around the island, Hyacinth was too bad in front of pump station. Fished around Coney Island to avoid the Hyacinth. No luck, tried top water, spoon, and winter crawdad jig. Got desperate, and tried anchovies. Lots of small bites on main river next to Clifton Fore bay. Tried to make it back past the Hyacinth at the pump station and got stuck. Had to leave boat overnight. The pumping station boys pulled me out on the next morning. Thanks guys. Needless to say, won't be using Rivers End for awhile.

    Tips: It's not getting out of Rivers End that's the problem. The pump station gang clears the weeds during the day, but they go home around 4;30. After that the weeds just start pilling up. So getting back can be very difficult.

    Report: From Cooch's Fishing
    The big fish bite was crazy on the River today, we got five toads, the first one being the only one that's worthy of posting. After nearly two hours of not getting bit with a black blue jig, I picked up the brown jig with the olive pork, very first pitch and was immediately rewarded with my first teener of 2016! That's the second 10+ ta fall for a jig in a week here for me! The bite was a slow grind, but really got good about 12:30-1:00p when we had that 45 minute gully washer of a down pour. I had Ray take a pic of the scale, 13lb 2oz, I'll take it!

    Launched out of Russo's at 9 thinking it would be warm enough. Froze all day anyway.

    Dropped a P-Line spoon through several schools of fish and couldn't even snag one.

    Finally caught a short striper on A-rig around 1:30PM followed up with a nice 4# bass on a jerkbait an hour and a half later.

    Not a ton of action but just happy to be out on the water and catching anything in the freezing (relatively) cold. :D

    Report: Bite is surprisingly wide open on reaction baits, blades, cranks, ripbaits, jigs and of coarse dropshot all producing. if you are tough to brave the cold mornings you can be rewarded with some stud bass right now.
    best depth has been 8-11ft. no problem getting 20 or more bites a day and mid- high teens for 5 fish

    Report: Launched from orwood at sunrise. Jogged down to lido bay. Started off tossing jerkbaits at the slips saw 1 dink follower. Then started to drop shot the pylons zip. About 11 picked apart each dock dead sticking a jig with short hops stuck a 3.2 and a 4.1 back to back casts. I couldnt believe it. No real patter took off. 2 fish 2 bites that was it.

    Tips: Wear gloves and fish slow real slow. Slow as you can it sucks.

    Report: Launched out of rivers end, Water Resources cleared hyacinth near pump station. Looked so good, I had to fish the area across from the electrical tower. Tide was coming in. Tried top water and a swim bait, got nothing. Headed around the corner toward Oasis. Fished the big side of the canal first. Got nothing, talked to a couple other boats, they had nothing. Headed to the smaller side. Caught a couple small stripers on a large gold kastmaster. Headed to the Clifton Forebay dock area. Tide was heading out at about 3pm, got nothing. Switched to chicken livers and caught a bunch of really small stripers. Back to the drawing room to draw up a new plan for next week. Good luck.

    Report: Delta Report…. Bait fishing Stripers Sturgeon Solid

    Isleton
    Salmon winds downs and striper sturgeon takes off. Salmon anglers still seeing quality fish most have started changing there focus. Silvertrons leading the way for for the last salmon of the season. Cooling water have slowed the stripers in the Cache Slough area. Spoons and hair Jigs have become favorite tools of lure tossers in the area.

    Walnut Grove .
    Slow for the trolling anglers, but stripers cracking the 15 pound plus keeps anglers hopes up. Savage Prey series and Angry Eyes are the top choices here as well, there seems to bit more call for chartreuse patterns here. Bank anglers tossing shad and eel prevail for an occasional Sturgeon or Striper those looking for Cold night fun. Bass anglers try some smallie fishing, crankbaits and brown blue jigs and getting the Smallmouth.

    Discovery Bay
    Stripers finally showing in solid numbers on both sides of Disco Bay. Some nice black bass coming out of Discovery Bay this week. Bigger fish have been falling for a 8" Savage Gear 3D GLIDE SWIMMER in the Hitch color. Dropshotting will put more fish in the boat but the size is just not there. Remember to throw those big baits you need the right equipment, try the OKUMA TCS 7'11" Mat Daddy rod and OKUMA TCS HELIOS reel spooled with 65lb VICIOUS braided line, make sure to have good polarized glasses on because you are going to see some big fish coming to check out this bait. Dress warm and enjoy the your time in Discovery Bay. –Charlie King

We found plenty of Stripers and Black Bass with Hair Jigs, Swim Baits, like the BIG 6thSense Hollow Bodies getting grabbed. Lot of Stripers in main River and Mildred areas.

George Cardinale was soaking eel and landed a Nice Striper as well..

    Looks good as Salmon anglers take advantage of rain and cooler water temperatures with Silvertrons leading the way. Water temperatures have dropped with the cooler storms. The salmon bite remains good as season winds down. Salmon anglers are seeing success.

    Walnut Grove .
    Slow for the trolling anglers, but fish cracking the 15 pound plus keeps anglers hopes up. Savage Prey series and Angry Eyes are the top choices here as well, there seems to bit more call for chartreuse patterns here. Bank anglers livers and cut baits prevail for plenty 2 to 4 pound catfish evenings are top for those looking for night fun. Bass anglers try some smallie fishing, crankbaits and brown blue jigs and getting the Smallmouth.

    Discovery Bay

    Report: Launching in the morning from paradise point, went out to the Hilton pulled up to buddy who was out there 2 hours ahead of me had two fish one 22" and one 27" High tide at sunrise on drifting bluegill. I fished the area and nothing lots of geese no fish, I tossed plugs, worms, drifted shiners, bluegill, even trolled, Nothing. Pulled the trolling motor and headed to turner cut tossed in some rebels and trolled to the bridge nothing tried four different colors. pulled up to the bridge talked to a bass boat, no luck for him either, tossed on minnows and slow trolled the bridge, for 45 minutes with the bass boat throwing everything he had at them. Nothing we both left I went to windmill cove pulled up another bass boat talked to them same thing catching nothing. trolled it for 30 min nothing, going into the garlic brothers on the way another buddy was fishing off of ridge track, he had shad and fish and was doing well. dunking shad was the way to go for the day.

    Tips: find a spot anchor and bait fish

    Isleton Salmon searching anglers with Silvertrons leading the way. Water temperatures have dropped with the cooler evenings The salmon bite remains ok as season winds down. The bite in the area just improved all week. Salmon anglers are seeing success. a few fishing finally started getting solid reports of success from Many anglers to the west are seeing more salmon daily… getting close. Silvertron’s are the best bet for those who want to try.

    Walnut Grove . More Stripes are in the area as cold temperatures return more in the Walnut Grove area as the trolling bite is OK mostly small fish.. Slowed way down for Salmon still many decent Scores reported Silvertrons and K-14 getting mentioned. Best area has been Courtland to Walnut grove. Red Eye Shad and small shad patterned plastics are the top choices here as well. Rip baits are scoring Largemouth and Smallmouth in the Meadows.

    Discovery Bay Stripers that had been starting to group up in the Marina side seem to have Moved to the Indian Creek. They are still in the area, the bait and stripes are in main river Holland riverside south to Italian Slough. Dan’s Classic Shimmer Jigs and Strike King RedEye Shad getting bit. Black Bass cooler evening temps have water temperatures dropping and the bite a bit tough. Rip baits and Drop-shotting getting mentioned often now for the largemouth.

Sturgeon and Stripers are being caught, Looking for stripers are finding solid numbers of keeper stripers from both boat and bank. Most of the nice stripers coming soaking Shad, anchovies and sardines . Antioch Pier scored stripers to39 inches this week. Shad is top offering.

    Report: The wind laid down day before it was tough but great, I launched late at Paradise point 3:30 Headed straight for the cabin on the left on the levee going out to the main channel tossed on a rattle trap and my buddy tossed on a husky jerk and started a troll hooked 5 fish in the 45 min only on the gold husky jerk trolled the mobil home 500 yards and turned hooked all the fish on the turn before the shack, pulled the trolling rigs and drifted the turn with perch and shiner's nothing for 20 min than bang 5 more fish in less than all 20inch to 30inch nice fish, going for a night run so headed to garlic brothers wind laid down high tide and weeds all over the place could not dip for shad very well but was able to get 50 or so some huge. hooked up the lite clipped it on the side and stuck on some live shad. didn't get a thing for an hour 1/2 tried all three holes and nothing fish not there. dipped some more shad filled up the live well and headed out to the main channel. hooked to the right after bora bora beach went to the second turn off the main channel where the shack is on the corner and pulled up to the pumps turned on the lite tossed some live shad in and bam 38 inch nice fish my buddy hooked into a large something after five min snapped his line 18lb test. stayed for another hour and nothing but live shad every where and dipped and pulled out and went to the mouth of the Calaveras river turned lite on and tossed in live shad, hooked fish so dam fast bait was gone in a hour. all small strippers. went in to the river and dipped filled up the live well went across the way and fished rough and ready turned the lite off moon was bright and hooked 6 fish all over 25 inch and two carp. pulled are rigs its about 9:40 pm no one to be seen 20 years ago there would be 6 to 10 fisherman out with lights, not any more. Headed to the mouth of the san Joaquin and fished port to the bridge turned on the light and tossed in the shad about 15 ft down 10 pulls, my buddy hooked into another pig and lost it bad luck for him. I hooked into a 36lb this one I kept she had sea lice. great color. Nobody to be found, had the whole place to my self, pulled up and went to the port lots of feed no fish but we were over the cold headed back pulled out 12:30 am cold but what a trip. heading out sat will give you an update

    Tips: need a shad dip net, shop lite with a clamp cut off the plug and buy some clamps and attach to cord, need an dc RV bulb and hook to the side of the boat, extra battery is a must

    Report: launched out of paradise point. went straight to the main channel went to the Hilton island across on the south east end, when I pulled up fly fisherman were catching strippers one every three cast casting at the tules notice they were using striper darts shad black and white and silver, the other fisherman was using the blue,white and silver. Did see them over the hour of being there releasing 25+ fish, one of the fisherman pulled a 15 to 18lb stripper and released it cool. when I pulled up I tossed on a blue gill and started my slow troll being there 3 min hooked into a 31 inch fish, after that had some shiners tossed one in and 14 inch fish, bunch of them 10 inch to 20 inch fish lost count, after 2 hours pulled up and went across windmill cove on the corner going into 14 mile slough, threw on a rattle trap blue with a white tail and trolled the edge all the way down to the tree and hooked 8 fish in a hour all small fish did get to nice 6 lb black bass in the process. headed to dads point and country club golf course and just killed it on whatever rattle trap I put on most fish were in 18 to 25 inch range.
