Water Temp: Unknown
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: I fished lafayette Friday with a friend. The trout didn't seem to want bait for us, but I did pick up two by tossing a small brass Castmaster. The larger one went 7 pounds and was 22 inches long. She absolutly crushed the lure so hard it actually knocked the reel off the rod. I'm glad my friend was there to help me get the reel back on the rod while keeping the tension on the fish. The other was a nice 17 incher that jumped 5 times. I didn't know the bait shop was closeing at 5PM so I didn't get on their board as I went up at 5:30, to bad since this was my first really big trout ever.
City: RichmondTips: Brass castmasters in small sizes. Slow retrieve is best.

Report: Fished the Delta Federation out of Ladds, I only mustered one bite, delerious fish ate my bomber crankbait almost at the boat, that was the only bite for me and my non-boater, tough day was had by alot of anglers, we tried everything , even the dropshot didnt produce.
City: MartinezTips: I found it was time to run and gun and find active fish, after catching one I stayed there and worked the area reel good. good luck Procraft Pete

Water Temp: 51
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Fished Angler's Choice Delta Region Sunday. Bite was tough, only took 16+ for 5 fish to win. High presure and cooling water temp seems to have slowed the bite conciderably. We had only 3 fish/6.8#s for the day, 2 flipping and 1 on a Speed Trap. We fished a couple of sloughs with depths from 2-15 feet. All our fish came from 3-7 feet of water. The flip fish came off of transition zones from weed flats to deeper tulie banks. Crank fish came off a weed flat. All three fish and out other bites came on downsized baits. 1/8 ounce Speed Trap and a 4 inch grub.
City: BrentwoodTips: Bite seems to vary day to day. Friday was great and by Sunday it was fairly slow. When high presure moves in after a front be sure to downsize your offerings.

City: TracyTips: Take a jig lesson from Cooch. I did last year in February.

Water Temp: ?
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Fished Franks Tract today, throwing Tora Tubes (white) to boils of Striped Bass. Landed over a dozen 5lb to 7lb range. To many shakers to remember, though I was starting to get tired of them by 1:00pm. Best day in a long time at Franks.
City: SacramentoTips: Watch for the birds and surface disturbance, this indicates Striper feeding activity. Use your electric motor to approach slowly (fish very spooky on sunny days). White Plastics seem to work the best this time of year. Light line and a good drag a MUST!!!! (contact me for more info.)

Water Temp: 51
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Launched out of Wimpy's Marina about 11 am and fished until about 2 pm. Tide was moving fast and very muddy. Wasn't able to locate any largemouths, but did all right on the stripers. While throwing a speed trap at some levee breaks, much to my amazement, I landed two spripers. The biggest went 20 pounds and the other 18 1/2 pounds. The fun part was trying to lip them once the fight was over. Anyway, I had thought the striper bite was over in that area. Sorry about the striper story, I prefer to give my report on the bucketmouths, but nothing to report.
City: SuisunTips: When the water is too muddy and the current is rippin', try fishing the levee breaks for stripers. It fills in the time between the bass bites.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Started out of Holland Track first thing. Partner hit a small one on a rattle trap in Rock Slough. I had a swirl on a suspending jerk bait but no takers. No other bites in Rock. Wandered down towards Orwood and he picked off another fish on wood in shallow water. We both missed a fish on the same spot. Mine bit my grub in half. When out to old river and up around Mandevile and I picked one off on a white speed trap. About 15 min. later nailed the last fish of the day on a jig in 14ft of water next to a dock piling. Fishing was sporadic. Landed 4 fish, 2 each.
City: San RamonTips: Look for wood with deep water access. Fish seemed to be holding to wood. The south Delta is muddy but north of Orwood the water was still pretty clear.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Me and my dad started out fishin the break today, it was windy and rainy all day. We drove down near franks tract and started crankin. From 8:00 to about 12:30 we landed 9 keepers biggest being around 4#. Also caught 2 nice steelhead. We were using the same model crankbait but in different colors. My dads seemed to be working alittle better as he caught 7 of the fish. The fish seemed to be everywhere, rocks, tules, and wood. Wanted to stay out and fish but my wallmart rain gear wasn't doin the job.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Took my kickboat to the delta for the first time today. My firiend and I caught 5 fish between us. We both missed 2 other fish. One I missed felt pretty big. I caught mine all with a shad speed tap paralleling riprap. My friend fished weedlines. My friend also caught a steelhead on his team daiwa crankbait! I didn't know there were steelhead in the delta. Over all it was an ok day. Pretty good for my first time at the delta. It was also pretty warm. The fishing should improve as the water warms. All our bass were in the one pound range except one that I hooked on a pointer minnow that felt big.
City: Palo AltoTips: Fish shad colored speed traps slow parallel to riprap or deep weedlines.
