Water Temp: 60-68
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Launched out of Russo's at 7:30. Fished staging areas. Threw reaction baits but better quality fish came on jig and senkos. Nothing better than two lb. class fish though. Couldn't find the big mamas. Video here:
https://youtu.be/25myFDSLCTY
City: San MateoTips: I think the fish might have been a little more scattered given the cloud cover we had. Probably should have covered more water instead of grinding away with the jig and worm. Didn't see any beds in Franks and Little Franks yet.

Water Temp: 60-62
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fishing the past two days during the rain storm of Wednesday and the wind storm of yesterday provided great action for numbers. During Weds rain, fish were up shallow in the tulle groves gorging themselves. Thursday, although bluebird skies early, the winds really helped the bigger fish bite and fish were set up on the transitions in 7-10 feet. Thursday we caught six fish between 5 - 6.5 pounds on a variety of baits, Biffle bug, Wadda Jig, Kut-tail, DS Robbo worm and Big Hammer SB.
Tips: During cloudy overcast skis, look for em up in the tulles roaming. Clear and or windy days, think grass beds off big points and secondary edges in the flood ponds, islands & lakes. Reaction bite still not strong on a regular basis, but ya can stumble into a feeding frenzy early in the morning if ya guess right on yer location. Move around, don't hang in one area too long if ya ain't gettin bit. Bite is good all over the Central and East Delta.

Water Temp: 56-57
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Great bite pretty much all day due to some good tides. caught over 25 fish. our best 5 ended up somewhere between 25.5-26.5lb with a 10.0lb and a 6.5lb. reaction baits in about 5-7foot early and fished slower but shallow in the afternoon.
City: stocktonTips: Check your transition and staging areas often, our second run on a major pre-spawn area yielded the biggun after only a 3lbr earlier. time of day (late afternoon) has been the factor even more than tide, but the sat tide didn't hurt.

Water Temp: 56-60
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Launched out of Russo's at 8. Fished around Franks and Little Franks. Caught 6 but only 5 would have kept, nothing over pound and a half. But all the fish were in 1-2' of water. I'm guessing the females were holding a little deeper.
In this video it get bit just as I'm trying to get a bite of my sandwich!
http://youtu.be/IgiSMnYUqeU
City: San MateoTips: If you want the bucks throw at the bank. I gotta learn to position the boat a little farther out and fish the lure all the way back to the boat. I'm sure I was fishing right over the females.

Water Temp: 55-56
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Launched Paradise Point around 8am...headed to Mildred...wind was whippin' pretty good, lots of white caps/SF Bay. Managed a couple dinks on senko and rattle traps. Tried to find some less windy areas but they were mainly shallows (2-4ft on the fishfinder).... decided to move up to 14 mile slough...managed a few dinks on black & junebug senkos... then stuck 2 lbers in a row. That was it.... wind pickin' up, decided to pack it in at 230pm. Talked to another basser and he said they got 1 decent keeper. Tough day.
City: folsomTips: Not qualified to give tips but senkos were the default go-to bait just to feel a hookup. Hopefully Sunday will be better.

Water Temp: 56-57
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Launched 10:30am B&W.... water was stained to muddy brown...started at top of the Moke... nada.
Moved to favorite tules...nada...everything looked like it had been sprayed to kill the hyacinth, which was pretty much non existent except the few remaining floaters that were already dead brown. All the usual tules seemed to be either killed off or hardly even there. Moved to alternate areas on Tater Slough.... managed a couple of keepers on blk/red flk senko and a black spinner bait, but no pattern at all. Saw only a few other boats trying but never saw anyone hook up and I really think it was just a junk fish day. Ended the day at 330pm with 3 on the hook.
City: folsomTips: not even!!! someone tell us what's happening in these waters. all the reports of the bite is on, 20-25lb limits, where the h&(( is that? south delta? sure ain't up the moke or even the sj.

Water Temp: 55-57
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Went out both Sunday - rain was insane - but so was the bite. 20lb bag in under 3 hrs on windblown banks and Monday was even better with an afternoon bite that was stupid - 24-25lb in 3 hrs. They are getting predictable in the classic staging areas. reaction bites on the transitions. the storm activated the bite.
City: stocktonTips: its that time fellas, put away the darters and dropshots, time to stick some donkeys.

Water Temp: 49.8 - 52.7
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Weather: Early fog, blue skies with light high clouds
Lake Level: Falling tide early, long drawn out incomming\Best Depths: Most fish are comming off the various rock levees that have 7-14 out off the bank. The three fish we got this week that were over 5 pounds, all came off a tulle clump that had 6-7 foot of water at the bass and hit that flipped in jig on the fall. The spin
Fishing still remains tough for most on the Delta with scattered fish in 1-3 pound range and that occasional big one. The bass here are starting to move, we're getting a lot more missed bites on jigs each day than fish in the boat, as well as picking off

Water Temp: 52
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished around sugar barge in my tube for 7 bass, nothing big but not bad for January. Lost one that might've been big. Senko and dropshot. Found many bites on the ends of the docks behind the pilings. Dropped down vertically and shake the dropshot in place. Let the senko sit for a bit after it touches down. The end of incoming was better for me and when I got bit I blanketed the area for a couple more sometimes. Tried jig and crank with no takers.
Tips: Scent up the plastics in the murky water. Most of my bites came where there was less current.

6 fish over 10 pounds since last Saturday the 27th.
Guide Information: WWW.CoochsFishing.COM\Name & Number: Andy "Cooch" Cuccia 925-732-3293Tips: Contrary to the early week report above, Sunday we got hit with a chilly cold snap that drove water temps in most of the areas we've been fishing, down 2-3 degrees to 47-49.7. Sunday 25, we experienced a much tougher bite than we had all week due to the temp drops. Be prepared to grind it out and fish slower and more methodical.

Water Temp: 48-50
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: The bite has continued to be tough for the past couple of weeks with occasional bursts when the water warms and/or we get stable weather for a day or so. it can go from slow and finesse to wide open and reaction, rips and blades, very quickly. lots of smaller fish when windows open up and some bigguns, as Cooch noted, thrown in the mix.
City: stocktonTips: I have had better luck fishing the time of day vs tides the past few weeks. the tide will position them but they are chewing mid-late afternoon no matter the tide. best depth - 8-11ft

Water Temp: 49.5 Degrees
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Fished Big Break on Sunday. Took the Fog on, weather warm outside. Minimal wind. Water was real muddy. Put in at low tide, incoming. Most fish hanging on the bottom, we tried to coax 'em off the bottom with jigs and spoons but to no avail. Threw into tules with no return. My buddy caught one striper on a blue flapping hog, about 15 inches.
City: OrindaTips: Stay home and watch the Super Bowl. The water isn't going to clear for at least a week or two.

Water Temp: 48
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Slow Day - I fished many of my favorite spots in the east delta for a couple fish. I threw the whole tackle box at them for nada until about 3:00 p.m. when I finally woke up a couple using a white homemade soft plastic swimbait. The largest was 3-1 and the smaller was 2-5. I used all of the typical winter type lures and tried to slow the presentation way down but most of the day was just spent exercising my casting/flipping/pitching arm. It was a bit cool and overcast but nice to get out there at any rate.

Lake Level: High to low tides\Best Depths: 3-5 on rocky flats, 8-12 in the deeper grass beds.

Water Temp: 45-50
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Muddy water everywhere. Cleaner water in flooded islands and dead end sloughs. Found a spot with healthy grass and 5 degree warmer water. Marked fish but couldn't get them to bite. Two stripers elsewhere inside island and on break. Those were the only two bites we got all day and they were both an inch short! I caught mine on a jerkbait. My cousin caught his using a fly rod and some sort of tiny little buck tail jig. Saw another guy on a break pull out an LMB using a fly rod as well.
City: San MateoTips: I can't fish slow enough to catch fish in the winter. I'm guessing if you can slow down you'll have better luck than me.

Water Temp: 48-53
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Weather: High Pressure, Blue skies, no wind
Lake Level: Normal, incomming to out go afternoon.\Best Depths: Most productive depths this week for blackies has been in clearer water, lottsa grass at 8-12 feet. Still catching a lot of schoolie stripers in 2-5 feet up in the flats and around the tulles of the flooded islands.
The post frontal cold weather made fer very tough fishing this past week. Water temps fell below 50 to 48-49 the past four days and much of the River is stained to very dirty. Morning bite has been nonexistant with the exception of picking off a few schoo

Water Temp: 54-55
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Only had a a few hours to fish and was really out just to muck around with new electronics. Marked a bunch of fish around the Russo's but out in the middle of the channel. No takers but water was pretty murky. Ran south and found some clean water. Caught a couple small keepers + 3 more bites inlcuding a good sized one that broke me off. Ran out of time and had to return home.
City: San MateoTips: Found fish in healthy hydrilla. They were on the outer edges and in holes. All my bites were on drop shot but I'm bringing the punch rod next time out. Did not get any reaction bait bites including 10' crank, Staysee 90, chatter bait, Spook.

Water Temp: 55
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Overall a good day considering the conditions. Some areas had about 10in of visibility and 55 water temp which made the bites far and few between. Bigger squarebills in bright colors and of coarse, blk blue jig, accounted for our bites. looked for cleaner water and the fish were definitely chewing! Dropshotted for the remainder of the day with good results.
City: stocktonTips: look for clean water and fish deep or cover lots of shallow water with a crank or jig. in the dirty water expect only a handful of bites but thy will be good quality ones.
