Report: First time bass fishing out on the Delta. First time fishing a pig n jig. Caught 5 fish for the day, biggest 6.1 lbs. Had a great time.

Report: Just a short note to let everyone know when you find a buck staged up and prepairing or sitting on a bed, in my past 7 days on ther water every buck I found I would have 2 big females back out a little deeper or actually on the outside of the weedline waiting for the male to come out and signal the nest is ready. I mainly used worms and a few gitzits to catch these fish on an average most fish were 5 to 8 lbs........Micster
City: TracyTips: Tips: green worms...smoke gitzits.....work very methodical and or slowly when a fish hits you will usually feel them tearing out for deeper water its not the usual thump thump, the smaller fish seem to thump it, with the bigger ones you would feel a little tick tick kinda like a blue gill then all h*$% would break loose.......have fun!!

Report: Was out fishing around 6:30 pm with my buddy Tim and we had hard luck with jigs and spinnerbaits on the flat. Saw another pair in a boat nailing 4# and 5#s off a deep cut bank in the current, and they said they first used what we were using and caught nothing, but they switched to plastic worms; red brown patterns, and they could not miss. So we switched over and about 10 minutes later Tim nailed an 11+ pounder. Lots of yelling and hollering, will never forget it! A 5-inch ox blood zipper worm on a 3/0 lazer hook, and new line is what did it. Took a quik picture and let her go!

Report: Got there in afternoon fishing cranks and skipping tubes under structure. Caught some nice ones. Buddy cranking some areas in 4 ft. pulled in a nice 4 lbs. and a huge cat. 5 minutes later, I fished a top water and was slammed on the first cast. My line was pulling hard while the fish took off. Lost the fish. The line didn't break and still had the lure, but the hooks were straightened out. Boy, still thinking about it...

Report: Fished from 8-4:30. It was a good day. Caught fish flippin 10 inch worm early because of low tide had to fish the outside edges of tules in about 4-6 ft. Moved to tule island and caught a 2.5 on a jig same depth. As tide moved in fished some barges and wood and caught about 5 dinks and a 1 lb. Then as the tide moved even higher at about 3 and threw a blade in the muddy water up in the young tules and started catching bucks. Caught 5 bucks all about 1 lb. Lost a hawg on the 10 inch worm. Got her right next to the boat and she snaged my hook in a tule a got off. Lost my first fish over ten. I almost cried. at four moved to wood agian and caught some bucks there too.
City: AntiochTips: Tips: Low tide take the outside edge. At high tide there are lots of male fish up on the banks.

Report: I went to Discovery Bay Sunday. I went with my dad. I caught 4 bass. They were dinks. I caught them on nightcrawlers. I was fishing when all of a sudden I look at my dad's little spinning pole bent like an upside down U. It was stripping line for about five minutes even though his drag was on eight! I went sprinting for my boat to get a net. When I came back, he had it on the dock. It was eight pounds!!!!!!!! It was 22 inches! It was the biggest bass that my dad and I have ever seen! I hooked it before and that was the first time I saw it. We quickly weighed it then released it to make more bass. We also caught two 14 inch strippers.
City: PleasantonTips: Tips: Catch and release!!!! Before they spawn, they are very important to make more bass.

Under willows along levees. Most 1 - lbs., couple of threes and my first 5+ lb. fish this year. Good luck all.
City: FremontTips: Tips: Viper Spinnerbaits, pitch underneath willows, *soft* entry, stop & go retreive. Almost all laydowns produced a nice bucketmouth.

Report: Fished the lake in Discovery Bay all weekend and did better than most days out on the Delta. Caught about 30 fish over the weekend including one 7#er a few 4-5#ers and a bunch of 2-3#ers. Went out on my paddle boat and sidearmed Watermelon brush hogs into the tules and under docks. The bite was so subtle that oftentimes your line would start swimming away sideways before you knew you had a fish on. I plan on fishing it every evening this week!
City: Discovery BayTips: Tips: Flip into the tules and let it sit. The slower the better.

John finished with just 24.69 and I had 13.72. Andy C : thanks for the info on speed Traps
City: San JoseTips: Tips: Fish Rockie points until the weather changes and the water warms. Red speed-Traps worked the best but I think any color will work . the action is the key The bite is very, very lite (it feel like your hung on weeds but its a fish!

Report: It was a horrible day today. Went out of Holland tract and fished lots of water. Low tide is not my favorite time to fish either so that didnt aid me in my hunt for a hawg. The wind was howling but I did manage to pull out a 3.9 and a 3.5 on blades in timber. One of my worst days of the year. Hope others did better.

Report: Fishing was good using cranks at slack tide. Turner cut area, three triplets in the 4 - 5 lb category, on points in sloughs. Had to have tules, and/or wood of somekind. Was testing new electronics for Bottomline, so only fished for two hrs.
City: MilpitasTips: WARNING: Holland Marina was broken into on Sat. night, and my truck was hit on Sunday along with one other guy, parked in the lower lot(field side). The ironic thing is we both launched around 11-11:30 am. Came back at 5., and both trucks were parked next to each other. Busted my small window. They tore the other guys dash out, and got his wallet, stereo, and cd's. They only took launch money from me,and some cd's. Funny thing though, where they got the cash, there were 6or 7 cd's they didn't take. Guessd there not into Floyd or the moody blues. Anyone who may have left the water there on Sunday, and saw anything happening around the silver & black dodge truck or the white dodge truck, please contact the contra costa county sheriffs dept. Det.Ost? Thanks in advance, and keep those alarms on now at Holland till they get those guys. (If Ever) Tightlines Eddie
