Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished this last Sunday. Cranked a couple of small fish near Frank's at cuts into break. Ran to Mildred, nada on spinnerbaits or cranks. Decided to try new water. Ran up to Beaver, and Hog, Caught one pitching a brush hog on cover, noticed that I was getting bit (one solid Tap, then nothing.), so I put on a #39 magic worm T-rigged, and caught 4 more. Stopped at Frank's on the way out, and flipped a 3+ fish on a black/blu jig. 9 fish total, 5 largest only 10 lbs or so. Still struggling, but sure is fun! Rob T

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished 9 till 5 Sunday. Started in usual spots with low tide. No fish on spinnerbaits in barge cove, but several other boats were already in there. Saw a good fish in marina at the Hook while launching boat. Ran to Franks, 3 boats already on the area I fish, spinnerbaited nearby, lost one. Boats left, went to my standard spot, caught 3 quick fish, 1-2.5 lbs on red bomber. Decided to make Mildred run, no fish on one of my spots, too much company to fish other spot. Decided to explore new water, so ran to north Delta by Beaver, Hog and Molumne river. Caught 5 pitching brush hog (green pumpkin) and # 39 color magic worm. The bite was much more aggressive on the worm than on the hog, oftentimes got one small tap on brush hog and then gone. Fish would pick up worm and swim off with it. Back to Franks while heading in, flipped black/blue jig on outgoing tide along inside of tule walls, Caught one better fish of 3+lbs. All told, 9 fish from 0.5 to 3+ lbs. Still struggling on quality fish, but it was a great day!

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Fished Friday and Sunday. Out of the Hook. Friday 10 blackies and one striper. Largest blackie 5lbs. Striper about 8lbs. Rest were 0.5-2lbs. Primarily caught fish in Franks and Mildred Island. Spinnerbaited 2 fish by the barge cove next to the hook. Most fish caught on speedtrap on outside weedline (Delta Craw color). Tide was low, had a total of 12 bites, so was pretty efficient at putting them in the boat. No flip bite on brush hog (my confidence bait) or jigs. Sunday was a different story, actually got more bites, but could not hook em. 6 fish, none bigger that 2 lbs. Couldn't fish my spot on Franks due to wind. Ran to Mildred, Caught one small fish on blades, lost another on speed trap at boat, missed several short hits on blades and trap as well. Was slow, so decided to experiment. Ran to Coney and middle river. One fish on blades in middle river on tule berm point. Nothing else, saw another person catch a small fish pitching lizards, said that it was slow and his fish were small as well. Pitched giant reaper along wood, weeds, no hits. Started pitching a jig at Coney, finally got some action, but couldn't hook up! Had 7 hits for 3 fish. Caught one more on blades tossing way up under docks. Still don't seem to have a "feel" for the Delta, but it is sure fun learning!

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished Delta for first time this spring. Launched out of the Hook and ran to Frank's. Caught two, lost one, one on brush hog, other on crankbait. Pitched back/blue jig in tule pockets along cuts into Franks, spinnerbaited adjaceant flats, no further luck. Ran to Whites, pitched inside & outside weed pockets with brush hog and jig on tule/rock combinations with no hits, cranked and spinnerbaited weedlines and any sparse tules, no luck. Game plan was not happening, ran down to disappointment, cranked 2 small fish on weedlines nest to clear flats that looked like good spawning areas, still slow. Tried pitching wood next to levee in back of Mildred with gian reaper, jig, and brush hog, nada. Cranked windward side of Mildred for another small one. Getting late, headed back to Frank's caught two more out of cut running into Frank's, one on brush hog and one on crankbait (again!). All in all not a good day. Seven small bass (0.5 - 2 lbs), fished from 9:00 to 5:00. Still not familiar enough with the Delta, but starting to wonder what I'm doing wrong.
