    Report: My son and I lauched out of Ladds today, fished from 6am to 2pm. We caught about 25 fish, nothing over 2 1/2. All fish came on sinkos on outside of weed lines, fished mostly around the Milred area

    Report: Tournament season is over for me untill the TOC so I went on a mission to try something new. I went chasing smallies on the Sacramento River above Locke. I threw smaller crank baits in craw colors and had a blast just floating down the rip rap walls. I caught over 40 fish while most guys blanked in the frog tourney. Most were small but i did catch several between 13-17" and they are fat. Lighter tackle graphite rod 8lb test it was fun. Ripped a few rattle trapped a few but crankin was the ticket! Cant weight to go again and figure out the bigger ones I had one that was huge chase it to the boat but did not committ.

    Tips: Have fun no pressure toss cranks,blades,rip, just go fish and enjoy. The fish bit best around the begging of outgo when the water is cookin. Be carefull the water moves faster on the main sac but thats where they are at!!!!

    Report: Well I came out today after having a pretty decent day yesterday. Oh what a difference a day can make. Fished similar waters with same baits and had a different results. No luck with top water in the AM. Launched out of Holland at 5:30. Picked up a couple on out going with a robo worm rigged TX style. Caught nothing for about three hours and then picked up two more at high tide. Broke off on a heavy fish.

    Tips: I challenge the rest of the people who just read these reports and never post to start posting. I too was a person who never posted and just read. If you have a bad day, it happens, let us know, sometimes it is just as helpful to know what isn't working.

    Report: Started late out of Orwood on the bottom of the low. Fished the levy outside of holland with white frog got 3 2-3# fish in the trough between the weed line and bank. Moved towards franks and fished the outside edges pitching senkos and drop shotting. Got 6 more fish between 3-4# and one that went 6.2# on a MMIII. in about 15 feet of water. Punched for 2 other dinks. off water by 1:30pm

    Report: Launched out of Orwood this morning at sunrise. Wanted to go towards Disco Bay but the Coast Guard and Sheriff were there searching for someone that had drown last night. So we went towards Holland. Caught a half dozen dinks on cranks. No luck with frogs or buzzbaits. Switched to a worm and had pretty good luck. Caught another 10-12, nothing big though. Caught two small stripers on rattle traps. Had a nice one between 4-5 spit the hook on an impressive tail dance. Off the water by 1:30.

    Tips: Don't put all your eggs in one basket, put all of then in the fridge they will last longer.

    Report: Launched outta ladds 5:30 am,spent the whole day in middle river from the train bridge to connection.All fish but one came off the white/chart spinnerbait, the biggest on a 6"watermelon senco.

    Tips: I havent thrown a spinnerbait in a longggg time but it felt pretty good covering water. We picked up our fish here and there just working our way up the river, we were pitching sencos, did some punching,nothing from punching, and throwing the spinnerbait.current and or wind seemed to be key.dom

    Report: Launched out of Honker Cut. Started fishing at 6am and caught 4 on top right off the bat in Disappointment. Started throwing sinkos and caught a couple more. My buddy threw a buzz the whole morning and nada. Decided to check out little Mandeville and found tons of grass that looked great for frogs. We tried but the wind forced us to quit. Did see a few bass working top water. Went to columbia and Scratched a few dinks. Ended near H and H and got 2 more. Off the water by 1:30

    Tips: Pretty good day, best 5 went 15 or so. No fat boys today but they'll be back. All the typical stuff worked, Sinkos, Frogs, poppers, Shad crank and Brush hog in bluegill.

    Report: Dropped my kayak into Middle River at the end of Vic on Cal Pack Rd. at 5:30pm. Picked up a keeper and a lot of missed bites punching a big texan double wide beaver through the weeds on the incoming side of low tide. Same thing above the barrier. Once the sun was low on the horizon I picked up the frog. Nothing on the white one, so I tried black and started getting blow-ups in the trough near rock banks and tules. Also in scattered weed and cheese pockets. landed a 3.5# frog fish from the outside weed line along a tule island point just after dark. The blow-ups continued just about everywhere there were weeds, rocks, or tules and current or a back eddy. Picked up a nice 4.5+ working the frog a lot slower...walk, walk, p-a-u-s-e, walk, walk, p-a-u-s-BOOM! Fell in the water near high tide just before midnight and decided to go home. Nice night!

    Tips: Punching the weeds, be ready when the bait gets through the canopy and set the hook HARD! Slow the frog walk down, or try a walk and pause retrieve, giving them and easier target. Hey, I'm lookin' to get on some Smallmouth action, in numbers is a +. Can anybody point me in the right direction?

    Report: launched out of B&W around 5:45 then drove under and past the bridge to the right for about a mile.fished with chatterbaits with 5 inch grub tailers. i was on the back of the boat and my brother on the front. after my brothers 5th cast he caught a small keeper that mesured 12 and a 1/2 inches. he caught 3 more about the same size then snagged a blue gill. i changed to a color that looks more like a blue gill that is similar to the sexy shad color but with out the yellow stripe, in stead of white, which is what we were using. i got bit three times and missed them. after that i caught 4 small keepers. my brother caught 3 more keepers, one was the big fish of the day. a 4.4 on the scale. then another small keeper after that. so he caught a limit and then 2 more while i caught 4 keepers all before 9:00 a.m.

    Report: Started out of B&W at 5:30am headed south to franks threw buzz, spooks, and lunker punker nothing not even a blow up. started flippin the tules and pulled out one finally around 10:00 1# and then nothing. was getting ready to leave around 12:00 and decided to try one more spot flippin green watermelon brush hog and yamamoto baby craw caught about 20 in the next hour and half. Biggest 3-01.

    Report: look for any type of healthy green weeds. brown weeds equals not a lot of oxygen which equals not alot of bites. scattered cheese with buzzbaits in between the mats has been good.

    Report: Caught 3 LM. Not much of a pattern. 1 flipping, 1 on tulle near point and 1 on submerged veg. They seem to be spread out so cover a lot of water. Keep moving, I haven't caught 2 in the same general area.

    Tips: Looking for some. Anyone cares to share where the bass are in these dog days of summer? Not looking for a specifc spot (obviously) but the type of locations. Thanks in advance.

    Report: Launched out of Orwood again, Fished up towards Holland area. Stopped and asked a guy in a Champion how he was doing, Said he caught 3 fish in the last hour on Black Buzzbaits and missed a few on Frogs. He said he read about this area on Westernbass. I was glad to see he was catching the fish he read about. I started down around the old Boyscout island in Holland, No frog blow-ups but in #2 on Black Buzzbait in the weeds on the back of the point. Went and fished the Cheese matts around Rock Slough, the fish seem to blow through the matts but would not inhale the frog. I felt my hookset ratio was about as good as me batting against Randy Johnson pitching. I did not follow up with the Senko, maybe I might have stuck some of them. Fish seem to be by more open areas between the matts. I did manage a limit, but no Big fish. My best 5 bass wnt for only about #14-16#s most came on White Frogs, Because I could not find any real Buzzbait water in the Rock Slough Area.

    Tips: Look for space between the matts, or throw your frog on the openings between the rock shore with some water on it, to openings in the matts. I got on the water at 4:00pm- 8:00pm

    Report: fished empire & mildred for 5 bass to 8.8lbs! 4.5lb frog fish caught along the levee near white pumps at empire & 8lber on a rainbow trout colored senko in mildred in the submerged trees!

    Report: went out today and tried for some stripers in the morning. caught about 8 of them and missed probably 20 more. mostly off spooks but one miss on bubble pop. caught two keepers one barely keeper and one 4 pounder(both released) and the rest were almost keepers. then went to bass fishing and caught one off spook. a 9 pounder flipping a coonasty beaver and one dink off frog. off by 12 because of all the wakeboarders and waterski turkeys.

    Tips: there are still stripers in the delta just not as big but they are fun to catch. bass was slow today

    Report: Took a 2 day trip to the Pro Teen rally to support our youth and grow our sport. Andy the cooch does a great job with this event we need more people to help with todays kids and teens.
    I tried to locate fish not knowing what level of skill my teen would have that I draw. What I found was the high tide over the hydrilla type grass with current had a Buzz Bait bite but you have to work for it. Senkos and cranks got consistant bite for me on both days, frogs were slow for me but some had success. The most bites for people in the event came on senkos on barrin rock walls and sparse or isolated tule clumps with hydrilla grass on high tide. The big fish are being caught deep under the vegetation trash bombing if your looking for the 5 bite plan.

    Report: Launched out of Orwood, Fished the weedlines and Cheese Matts with White Frogs, and Buzzbaits.I did not throw anything else from 2:00pm-6:30pm. Caught about 15 Bass, best 5 went about 16#s. Largest of the day was a 6.3 on the Buzzbait. Missed my share of blow-ups but threw the frog back in there and stuck about a 1/3 of them again. Just went out to have fun. Just be carefull there are out of control H2o ski boats that come around points without a clue.

    Tips: Throw frogs in white, no other color seem to produce like the white, in heavy covered weed, when weed turns a little sparce pick up the Black Buzzbait.

    Report: Went out Tuesday and had a decent day to my suprise. I rarely fish the delta, so I suck out there, but because of the great reports on this site, I had some things to try. I fished the areas around Mildred south to Woodward. I caught fish on senkos, buzzbaits, blades, and frogs. I got a couple of dinks on cranks and no flip fish, although I did not flip very much. My best five went 17#. I had quite a few blow ups on the frogs but only got 2 frog fish. Could someone answer a question for me? When there is a blow up, what do you follow up with to get to the fish, the senko would not penetrate the mats I was fishing. Thanks for any help.

    Report: Ran to Coney Island 2 hrs before high tide, fished a buzz bait, a frog, and a wake bait over the weed beds. Caught 2 1.5-2# fish & got a couple of swirls. Just getting ready to give up on the buzz and ran into Dee and he was having the same slow day I was having. Felt a little better but he was getting his bites on a buzz so I stuck with it alittle longer missed 2 on a buzz but got them on a senko following up, just rats though. Switched over to a popper and nailed two #2+ fish. Moved over to union point and fished a frog for 2 hours having 5 or 6 blow ups but no hook ups. Moved north towards woodward and stopped at slough that looked good that I had passed by dozens of times. Decided to flip a beaver and caught 3 more fish in the 3.5-4# range on the last of the outgoing. Fished woodward/vicotria, decided to pack it in as the skier where getting as thick as knats. No real pattern but thats what worked for me.
