Report: launched out of orwood, fished mildred area both outside and inside. Threw buzzbaits, spinnerbaits, senkos, powerworms texas rigged, drop shot. Not a single bite. I'm still learning the delta despite fishing it for quite a few yrs. If anyone needs a backseater fishing the delta email me. I'll help w/ gas, launch fees. I don't tournament fish so you don't have to worry about me giving away your fishing spots.

    Water Temp: 52-56

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Went out from Ladd's around noon.Fished around mildred Island for about 4 hours.Saw quite a few Bass boats and a hundred sailboats but other than that it was not too crowded.Tryed to locate fish in deep water near flats but had a tough time.Caught one shaker striper and missed a good strike that had to have been a pre-spawn female largemouth.Well since I never saw it I guess it could have been something else.I tryed to get another strike with several follow up baits, but one chance is all I was given. That is not the first time that has happened.Oh well!! It was still nice to get out.Weather was very nice.
    City: Manteca

Tips: The water is still a little cold but with some steady warm weather they should be coming up.Good time to test out the boat, gear etc.

Report: Tough day. It's been awhile since I've been skunked. My partner and I both ended up with 0 fish. We fished different depths with a variety of baits and only had one tick. Hopefully it will pick up soon.

Tried jigs, Senkos, spinnerbaits, crankbaits (lipped and lipless) Sweet Beavers and Carolina rigged Margarita Mutilator. Nothing! Totally frustrated. Guess my "Excuse Du Jour" will be the muddy water.

Report: 1st off thank you Rich for that report.Nice to hear from a pro. I haven't posted in a long while myself. Having a tough time myself. I have 3 fish this year, in 8 trips. Today was a zero but I know they are around based on water temp and the reports. Worked the Texas rig and the jig all day ( 6 hours) couldn't get 1 strike. I have had way better than this by now in earlier years but we know each is different. Don't know what is next but I will continue the quest.

    Water Temp: 54-56

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: I haven't made a report in about a year...I doing this to help the individual that can't seem to do well at the moment. Im fishing small area's NEAR spawning area (Known) that have deep water nearby. What I recommend is put your head down and flip a jig. Trick is, SLOWDOWN, think your not slowin down enough. Slow some more. Watch youpr boat depth is another key to big fish. I try and keep my boat in 5-6ft of water with a long pitch if necessary. Im using a Bobby D's 1/2oz Black/Blue with a Netbait Baby Bama trailer.

Area's that Im fishing alot right know is Franks, Washington Cut, Connection, Big Break somewhat and Taylor with some upper parts of piper (deep section). You don't have to run all over hell to catch quality fish. I've been using 3 rods. Jig, swimbait and a Texas Rig. With this you can cover all depths. You may change the above to meet your confidence level, everyone is different in approach.

In the last 8-10 days there has been movement of big fish looking for a place to spawn. In about 1-2 weeks this place is going to be wide open. At the moment I've put in a 8lb 3oz, a 10.73 and a 9.06 today, all have been verified. Im going for a 50+ limit consisting the best 5 for 09. Counting fish over 7lbs. My Profile will show it and will update has I catch them.

Good luck and hope this will help someone.

Tips: Deep channel's near Spawning flats or area's. Current is another option near flats. Fish slow, with a warm weather coming in the shallow water bite will be wide open. Look for grass in 5-6ft of water and work it with a swimbait or something that you can crawl.

Report: Fished inside and outside of Little Mandeville from 8 to 2. Jigging, senkos, & fishtraps. Boat was usually over 5 to 10 ft of water. Conditions were cloudy on day B4 the rains, but only landed 2 bass under 2 lbs. Expecting better days in the next few weeks.
    City: San Jose

Tips: Should have fished a little slower and little deeper. I think the good bass season is about to start.

Report: lauched out of paradise pointat 6 am i thought i would have to wait to lauch i was wrong there was no one there. fished disapointment slough for an hour and obviously i got disapointed. the water was so polluted (grease and gas stains all over the water) then i moved to white slough the water was still murkey but less polluted. the only fish i saw was from another boater. then we went to mildred island. My buddie and me targeted bass caught a coulple of keeper striper and they made a good meal. Guess you always have to make the best out of the worse. We threw everything at them nothing not even a bite. the only thing that worked was zara spooks and the black dog lunker punker stripers hit them call us lucky i guess.
    City: sacramento

Tips: prespawn sucks. it was nice to have alot of fishing space in the delta but it sucks. The guys who didnt go out must have known something i didnt. I should have just stayed home with the kids.

    Water Temp: 50.5

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Weather conditions made for a tough day. We fished the Franks area in exposed water with the wind beating on it, weather stations shows gusts to 25 and I'd believe it, 2-3' rollers all day long in the steady driving rain, body is really sore today. We fished up tight flipping heavier jigs that were green pumpkin in color. one 15" striper early on a red/purple yozuri. The tide finally turned and at 10:45a with no fish in the boat my partner looked back at me and questioned "never give up, right?" me:"right". 2 casts later he hit a 7, he hit the next fish too, was an 8.3 about an hour later and just like that we felt like we were back in it. continued to grind but only managed 2 rats late in the day with 30 minutes to go, we finished with 17 and change. needed that last rat for the win, but very happy with 3rd. Sharing game day info in the hopes that others will get back to this level of sharing here in the reports
    City: Sonora

Tips: the usual - knowing how the tide affects your spots is important, jigs produce big fish, shallow flats with deeper water nearby, spinnerbaits work in choppy water produced in rain/wind even in the winter.
