Water Temp: 70 degrees
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Vacationed on the Delta May 9-16. Stayed at B&W. Had warm weather with a couple windy days. Fished most of the popular spots from Whites Disappointment Middle River Mandeville and areas south. Pretty good spinnerbait action most days with a few 3 lbers mixed in with the 1-3 lbers. Most fun was fishing a jig and DW Beaver rig in black/blue or junebug. Caught numerous 3-5 lbers and several 8,9 & 10 lbers. Cooch was right when he said the river was fishing like February and I know he fishes jigs a lot. I caught 10-15 quality fish each day. Lot of boats around with the Future Pro and Stren events but lots of room for everyone.
City: Oak ParkTips: Had better jig action on rising tide. Caught some senko fish but they were smaller. Chart spinnerbaits, black/blue jigs dw beavers, senkos. One of the best fishing vacations to date for me. Have fun !! Dan Curtis

Water Temp: 66 to 69
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Tried dock fishing for the first time in DB with my fishing buddy. GREAT morning bite. About 10 bass between 1 1/2 to 4 pounds. All on senkos. My buddy lost a big fish on a dock. Dont know how big it was. She couldn't even get him to the surface because it was so big! I also lost 2 good size fish. Around noon, the bite died. Tried fishing a channel with some flooded islands. Third cast, I hooked a MONSTER bass on a spinnerbait. Got her half way to the boat and she spit my bait. I was hurt. That bass would've weighed in at least 8 pounds or more. Overall GREAT day of fishing.
City: El SobranteTips: Senkos all the way. If your bait isn't right on cover, you're not going to get bit.

Water Temp: 64
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: had good day today, caught 18 total best five 23lbs got some early on high tide on spinner bait then the gail force winds picked up had to get off the island tullys went over to tiki and got in some cover, used sinkos and lit them up. that bite slowed and some how the wind slowed up to so went to rocks and tullys got them again on spinner and speed trap.as the wind yet picked up again choose not to fight it and called it a day.so as plastic man said lots of pictures and let them all go...i only hope that everybody else lets them go, if you do keep some keep the two and three pounders leave the breeders to do their jobs for future fishing days....
City: san ramonTips: if its to windy find some cover use plastic...

Water Temp: 63
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Started the morning in Franks Tract. Wind seem to be 20+. Picked up a small one on c-rig then my boat got stuck on a submerge rock (peat moss)the wind kept me lodge in and nothing I could do could get me off. Thankful tghat the only other boat in the tract was a ranger fishing nearby who came to my assistance and pulled me off (otherwise, it would be a long wait for the tide to come in.) Moved to Mildred and continued to throw swim baits, sp;inners and cranks but no takers. Wind died down and threw senkos and the fish were on. Everytime I switched to something else, no bites. They only wanted worms and dead sticking. Didn't matter what color. Best 5 was over 16lbs with the biggest at 6 lbs. Not bad for a windy, windy day.
City: South San FranciscoTips: Fished outgoing tide with senkos, deadsticking and wacky. Didn't matter what color, they were very light bites. Had to watch line, which is tough in the wind. Not holding tight to the tulles, seemed to be post spawn in deeper water.

Water Temp: 65
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Went out of Holland and ran to the south side side. Started fishing at 8 a.m. Had my limit by 9:30. Two 3 pounders and three 1 pounders. All on bleeding spinnerbaits. Didn't have anymore bites until about 3 hours later. Then caight one more 1 pounder. My fishing partner also caught a 2 pounder. Those two fish were on watermelon senkos.
City: El SobranteTips: The water is warming up now so the fish are getting more active now. The spinnerbait bite is picking up. We threw jigs, crankbaits, worms, lizards, craws, everything. Only caught them on spinnerbaits and senkos. They are right inside the tules so if your baits isn't hitting the tules, they wont touch it.

Report: Went on a 2 day run of the Delta, different water both days. Frank's was unfishable day 1. Big wind, chocolate water, and swell. Ran into small cuts around mildred, and sandmound. Ended up with good numbers 2 swimbait fish 5.5 and a 7, 1 good senko fish 8, 1 chart'white spinner bait fish 5.2 ended up just over 27lbs best five. About 12 fish total. Day 2 fished Franks, Fishermans cut, and Taylor. 12 more fish, first fish 6.13 on a senko, 5.5 on a rattletrap, a some beaver fish 2-3. Top 5 ..21.4lbs. Good fish spread out, only small pockets.
City: San FranciscoTips: Swimbaits hit and miss, senko's most consistent, stay in 5-7 feet of water. Try mixing it up, rocks/tules depending on the area either one can be better than the other. Fish EVERYTHING SLOW!

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Decided to celebrate my Birthday by going out on the Delta. Launched out of Paradise and took a long ride down Disappointment, the San Joaquin, 14 Mile and White. Around 8:30 AM the Wind took over. I took this new guy out for the second time because he has never caught fish on a Senko or Plastics for that matter. We had about 4 fish by 9AM all on Plastics. Then the gates opened and this guy was in fish heaven. He nails a 3 LB beauty on a Wacky Rigged Senko and after a few more small ones he lands a 6 LB plus beauty. I thought he was going to fly out of the boat he was excited. I lost count of the fish we caught but we did manage to weight 5 fish and he had right around 24 LBS for some who has never fished with a Senko. We used the Watermelon/Black combo 6 Inch hooked regular and Wacky style. I threw Blades, Cranks, Buzz and Swim Baits and no takers only Senkos. Around 10 AM we found that Seal that was eating everything in the area and he is now Rock Kill (aka Road Kill), someone shot it. Looks like he has been there for around a week. The water was murky and the Wind was at full force when we left at Noon. All together a great day for the Rookie.
City: Elk GroveTips: Pitching into the Tules and Dead Sticking it at times. Used some Pro Cure on the Wacky Rig and it seemed to trigger the bigger bites.

Report: Launched at Ladd's this morning and decided to try 14 Mile and Disappointment. The action was fast from the start. Had 14 fish in the first hour and a half. The tide was just topping out and then turning around. Things started to slow as the day wore on. Finished with 21 at the boat. Best one went 8.1 then a 5.8 and several in the 3 to 4 lb. range. Caught all but two on a texas rigged Zoom Dead Ringer. A good day in my book.
City: Stkn.Tips: Almost all fish came from tules, the rip-rap didn't work for me today.

Water Temp: 59
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Took a client out on Thursday and caught 17 fish. We fished middle river and caught them all on shad colored senkos. The fish were in rock with tules , next to deeper water. Friday I had another client that wanted to go for big fish only. We only caught 5 fish ,but they were good ones. He caught a 11 ,a 8,two 5'sand a 4. Lynn flipped these fish from a back water area and man were these fish hot. He stuck them on a 8" Zoom red shad lizard.E-mail me for more info.
Tips: GO to the hard to get at areas to catch the big fish.

Water Temp: 62
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Very nice day (weather wise) out on the delta. Just a slight breeze, and very warm temperatures. Blue bird skies which means trouble when it comes to bass fishing. The fish weren't exactly jumping into the boat, but they were there, feisty and hitting reaction type baits. Stayed on TULE islands and worked points that drifted out to main channels and deeper water. Caught fish both in shallow and in transition to deeper water. Tossed KVD's sexy shad and got some pretty solid 2's and 3's on them. Once the limit came, went hunting for bigger fish. A lot of takers on a wacky style senko (green pumpkin). Water was pretty clear and was able to see fish swimming back in the tule brush. saw a good sized female cruising and tossed my worm in her direction...she turned around, and disappeared...then tick tick tick. I set the hook....and fish on!!! I've never been able to do that before...so i was going stir crazy just knowing i caught a fish i saw swimming in the shallows. Too much fun. Lots of fish, but no size worth bragging about by delta standards (biggest went 4.5 lbs)
City: el cerritoTips: found clear water on islands adjacent to channel breaks. most fish caught on all points of those islands. Fish are aggressive and are hitting just about anything that comes in their way. Senkos are still a great fish catcher after all these years.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished the Delta for the first time in years. I use to fish it all the time, got into steelhead 'n salmon fishing and got away from the black bass. I wanted to see if I could still do it and WOW!!!!! I only caught two darn fish!!! Fished the outgoing, got there a little late but went to White Slough and had a good time....O by the way threw a bluegill colored speedtrap; first fish 9.5 lbs. (2nd biggest of my life) and an hour later a 12.7 lbs!!!! Took quik pix and got them both back home...I screamed so loud I scared everyone in White Slough for an hour!! Two guys offered up $$$ for the fish (only jokingly)...I thought I was going to puke I was so excited!!! So I guess you can say I'll be black bass fishing this spring and summer!!! Wow Wow Wow....Truly felt privileged to catch those two warriors....
City: LivermoreTips: Well the one thing I did do was get that trap close enough to their beds to anger them enough to whack at it so give it a shot....good luck... please put those big females back boys, I know there was a boat near me that was "meat" fishing that would have kept those 2 girls in a heartbeat.....

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: fished whiskey slough. very windy. caught about 15 up to 3.5 lbs. mostly senkos. launched out of whiskey slough and hated the launch ramp. very narrow, and difficult to see as I backed down. glad my buddy was there to tell me if I was going to hit anything. Hooked onto something gigantic and came off, but had a giant scale about size of a quarter at end of my hook which was clear but tip was sliver/olive. wondered if it was a giant carp or a striper.
City: claytonTips: don't launch out of whiskey slough by your self. Take a buddy. The out ramp is much lower on the side farthest from the dock, and so helps to have your trailer as close to the dock as possible, otherwise if you have a big boat it wont sit on your trailer right.

Water Temp: high 50's low
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished the Delta today for four hours early this morning. Fished the outgoing tide for 25+ large mouth. Most fish were in the 2-5 pound range with about 4 over 5 pounds. Largest was 7 1/2 pounds. Drop shotting and wacky rigged senkos (6")
City: AntiochTips: fish are holding to cover in 2-4 feet on high tide early in the morning.

Report: Went out and fished North today. Caught 15+ fish with the biggest going 6lbs. Caught the majority on a crawdad bait. Caught 5 topwater fish in a 45 minute span before dark. Catching a lot of 4+ lbers. with at least a big fish everytime out.
City: Elk Grove -
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: I fished the high tide today in Franks tract. I threw a shiner pattern weed slinger in the north tules. 1st cast a 12 lb striper. I thought it was my personal best large mouth. Ended up with alot of 3-4 lb fish just throwing into the tules and swiming the bait slowly. This weekend should be good with the warmer temps.
City: farmingtonTips: Enjoying retired life! Be patient and throw deep into the tules. Hold on!

Report: No report, just want to thank those of you who include location in your reports. Not everyone does. Not specific "secrets" of course, but a general location. Of the "5 W's", we know the "who and why". We need the "what, when and where". OK, got that off my chest--carry on. :)
