    Water Temp: 58-60

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: My partner and I decided to go for some Stripers so we hit first light and was very calm but in just a few hours the wind was howling. Ran into a friend who said he had been blown off of Franks. We pretty much fished the fished the fish trap all day producing 74 stripers up to 7 pounds with most running 4-5 lbs and 8 bass with the largest being 5.9 had three others pushing 3 pounds and a few more in the 2-2.5 lb range. I called a friend who was fishing the same water the next morning and he had caught 2 nice stripers in the 8 pound range but over all he said no birds and no fish.
    City: Lincoln

Tips: find the birds feeding and you will find the Stripers.

    Water Temp: 55

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Super Windy + Super Cold = NOT so Super day of fishing. Got blown all over the place, so it was hard to stay in locations to fish. Just stuck with deep tule bluffs and deep outside weed edges and stuck a limit of bass...but man was it a struggle to keep the boat into position. All fish were caught on really slow presentations....t-rig, wacky, and jerkbaits were the only things that worked for me. Still fun to be out there, but man is it tough. It's only gonna get colder....good luck out there!!!
    City: el cerrito

Tips: jerkbaits seem to be the key....the long pause with a quick twitch worked out best. caught a couple of 3# ers (LM) and some stripers with a staysee. All of the fish hit the lure right before I was about to twitch the bait. I never knew jerkbait fishing was so much fun. bundle up and keep warm!

Report: Thanks for the tips Jerryaki, I really appreciate them. But I think I need a bit more info than that. Im an avid bass guru in search for a quality bite and was hoping for a more exact approach to the bass location. I can catch fish pitchin tullies, flippin wood, drop shotting, crankin, top water, etc, but cant find any fish over 2 lbs. I know how to read tides, find ledges, breaks, water temp changes, etc. but the fish are just not in the areas Im fishing. What am I doing wrong????? The spring through early summer procuded several fish in the 5-8 lb range but havent seen fish even close to that size in months. Im dying inside and about ready to give up for a while. Any info would be great. Im not a tournament guy this year so dont be afraid to share some knowledge!! Thanks a bunch!!!!!

    Water Temp: Didn't check

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: My young son and I went to the Delta Yesterday for a little striper action around noon-thrity. It was slow but we managed 5 in the 3 to 4 lb range, one at 8 lbs. which he caught by himself. And in the evening, I stuck one that ran about 25 lbs. on top water. I handed the rod to him so he could battle this very large fish. It was a great way to end the day.

Tips: Mostly on modified rattle traps and the one on a topwater bait. Big break- Sherman Island and the river just outside of Lauritzens launch ramp

    Water Temp: 57 degrees

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Tip for David! Buy yourself: Gamakatsu 3/0 or 4/0(whatever you prefer) EWG Offset Worm Hook, 2 or 3 pkgs of Yamamoto 5" Senko Worms, 20# quality mono or a 30# braid, and a quality 6 1/2 to 7' med to med-heavy graphite fishing pole (Powell's my favorite fishing rod now. It used to be G.Loomis) Then go out to the Delta and fish structure (Tules, wood, or anything that is different than the ordinary) slowly. Fish that bait weightless and watch your line for any line movement. If it hits the bottom lift your rod tip up to move your bait a foot or so. Then re-cast after you don't get any hits.
    City: Sacramento

Tips: Take your time fishing especially now that winter is getting close. Oh! I forgot to mention that if you see any line movement. Reel down the excess line and when you feel your rod load up, then haul back. And hold on!

    Water Temp: 58-59 degrees

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I took the kids fishing yesterday in the delta. I am fairly new to bass fishing as well as new to the delta. The wind made fishing very challenging out at Big Break. At times, my 48 pound thrust trolling motor could not keep up with the wind and tide. I should have realized conditions weren't good when I was the only boat out there. I decided to escape the wind and fish in Taylor Slough. My only fish was a nice 2lb LM caught drop shotting with a robo worm MMIII. Kids had a blast!

Tips: I don't know enough to be giving tips.

    Water Temp: 57-60

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Been out mostly fishing for stripers swim bait bite is good 1/2 oz head with fish trap body,in pearl or white. It seems to me the bite has been best on incoming tide on the flats, any place i find the stringy grass beds not weed beds has been good for 2 months now, real simple cover water but fish kinda slower than usual and you will catch fish. Most are 15"to25" no real big ones this year but we caught over 40 the other day and been averaging 20-40 per trip.
As for Bass it hasnt got cold yet so bigger bites have been hard for me too. This cold snap will move the fish deeper, think current it will have more consistant temps, think slow. You will need to fish either real slow or burn something and force them to strike.I have been on a good crankin bite in 8' of water on outer weedbeds.Must have weed beds but this will change with colder temps. As the weeds die off try deep bluff tules or rock walls where the weeds cut into the rocks. This time of year my bigger largemouth tend to come off rattle traps later in the day when it warms up a little bit.
If all else fails fish it like a lake.Points,points,points.I have got on rock points this time of year and done well split shotting reapers no giants but bigger than 2lbs.
    City: elk grove

Tips: Stripers flats with rattle traps and swim baits
    deep water with spoons 10-25ft.
Bass you will have to work for the good ones right now, keep changin but fish slow.Near current.North to south sloughs.
    Rattle traps
    Rip baits
    Crankbaits
    Reapers,grubs,

    good luck...

Report: For a rainy afternoon the anglers from Basin Bassmasters still held a T.O.C. out of B&W marina. My partner Jason Rodiguez and started cranking just down from the marina next to the tulles and got out first two keepers. The cold front started coming in and the tide went slack.
We moved into Frank's, crankin, pitchin, floppin. Got our next bass (keeper). back to our first sport near B&W and picked up two more keepers. Our big fish was 3.78 and total weight was 10.44 to win our TOC.

    Water Temp: 60

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Took a gamble and tried to fish, knowing a rain system was going to pass through. Can't say it was a total success, but we were able to land fish throughout the day. Tons of dinks (I thought dinks were only caught during summer time), but we were able to pull out a few decent sized fish as well. All of our "quality" sized fish came from senkos. That phrase "the quiet before the storm" was about as literal as you could get. slow tide movement, no wind, could cover, and just a calm serene feeling on the water. PERFECT topwater conditions....only if the fish knew that too. I threw a popper and got strikes, but I couldnt get the fish to commit. A lot of the strikes seemed like tail slaps. I got anxious on my first strike, which started with a big tail swirl behind the bait, then one pop later...a big ploosh...but no fish on the other end. I got way too excited and pulled the bait away from the fish, and ended up sticking my friend with the lure. Tops, Cranks, ripbaits, and blades only produced small fish for me. Found a good senko pattern where you would cast it tight to the tule brush, and just dead stick it. Fun day, even in the rain, best fish went 4-1/4.
    City: el cerrito

Tips: Green pumpkin senkos either wacky or t-rig. water was calm enough for weightless presentation. Also had a decent shaky head pattern going too with a Zoom speed tail worm. While wacky wormin', use the "flick" technique as it falls to the bottom and just let it sit still once your line touches bottom. Watch your line just take off. too much fun!!!

Report: My first time on the Delta. After reading all of Cooch's articles on jig fishing and watching all his videos, had to give it a try. Made a two day trip of it, launched and camped at Russo's, Friday 9 Nov, wx was clear and sunny. Nothing on the jig. So thanks to the earlier report started throwing the chrome and blue RatLTrap. That was the ticket. Ended up with around 10, biggest going 3# for the day. Picked a few up in the East side of Frank's Tract and then all the rest in Taylor Slough. Saturday was another story. Cloudy and then rainy in the afternoon. Thought that was supposed to be good for fishing! Decided to explore some different areas. Tried Connection Slough and Holland Slough. Nothing on the trap and only caught a couple of dinks on the jig. (Brown WhaddaAJig with purple and black pork trailer ;) Watched the Christian Bass Anglers Club Tourny weigh in. They seemed to have no trouble. Winner had 18#'s +. Even got to meet both Cooch and Richard HookPoint Theil and thank them for all their postings. Great fun both days. Bass fisherman's heaven.
    City: Monterey

Tips: Don't go out without a map! Had to constantly keep checking it in that maze of sloughs and islands.
